Sage hummed a quiet good morning to the girl when she pressed the kiss to his lips, a small smile flickering across his face at the touch. He hugged her a little bit tighter when she nestled back into his chest, a soft sigh escaping him as they settled back down. It was so peaceful out...and it had warmed up quite a bit too now that the sun was up, so really it was just perfect out. The grass was nice and soft underneath them, and there was sand under that, making the ground nice and cushiony. Almost like a bed. Having the wedding here would certainly be wonderful...it was beautiful, and peaceful, and no one ever really came here. It would be great, and he really just couldn't wait. They still had a few months, but it seemed like years.

Mari hummed softly after looking around a little bit. She was just looking about, enjoying the really quite gorgeous sight of the lake. She felt her heart flutter a little bit before looking back to Sage and giving a another small smile. "Morning," she whispered, her voice quiet and thick with wear. They were both a bit sweaty the night before, which made sense... they'd done quite a lot. The water looked very... appealing, but she wanted to wake up a little bit more before suggesting that they go for a swim. She tucked her nose into him to hide from the light... though, admittedly, she did struggle to look away from him. The light was bouncing off him, making him seem like some kind of angel... it was difficult to look away, but managed it. "You smell good," she murmured tiredly... he did smell good too, though she couldn't wrap her head around why... he always managed to smell amazing.

Sage hummed lightly in response to the girl's comment, though it was quiet - he just didn't really want to break the silence all that much. He chuckled lightly at her other comment, shaking his head slightly in amusement. "I'm all sweaty," he chuckled, resting his head back down on the ground again with a sigh. The girl really did look amazing with the sun resting on her hair and the peaceful look on her face. He sort of ran his fingers through her hair gently, more than content with everything that had happened. The water did look rather appealing, though for now, he was fine with just laying there with Mari....it was definitely nice. Peaceful. And she smelled nice, too, she always did.

Mari shook her head a bit... yes, he was sweaty... but he still smelled amazing to her. She didn't know what it was, it wasn't the usual pine and mossy scent, but it was warm and welcoming all the same. "I don't know what it is, but you smell safe," she told him in a whisper, a little bit confused herself, but that explained it the best she could. She closed her eyes again and wrapped her arms around his side, really just enjoying the way his skin felt against hers... his breaths and the way his eyes on her made her feel all warm inside... they had to grow up quite quickly in the last few months, despite the fact that they already were quite mature for their age... it was nice to act like idiots for a little bit.

(I was thinking, we could have something happen on the way back. Like they maybe get jumped or something. We've been missing a bit of drama lol. Maybe Mari gets injured or something? It'd be interesting to see how Sage would react to someone other than himself getting hurt aha)

(I think that would be a good idea. Maybe after that whole ordeal, we time skip a few months to the wedding, just to move things ahead a bit too.)

Sage chuckled lightly at the girl's comment and hummed lightly in response. "Well, I suppose I'll just take the comment without overthinking it," he noted with amusement. She smelled nice too....but she always smelled nice, and he could still smell the shampoo she always used lingering in the air around her head - a scent he'd come to absolutely adore. Even so, it was nice to just rest with her in such a peaceful spot. And it even gave the doctor some time to spend with his grandson, which was good for everyone. Silas certainly liked the old man, too.

Mari nodded to him, waking up a little bit more, a bit of a yawn escaping her. "You should," she huffed before stretching the tiniest of bits. It might have just been his natural scent she liked... which was probably why she thought it smelled safe to some extent. She shifted a bit, pressing a small kiss to his lips. She looked at the boy and then looked at the lake. "Come swimming with me," she eventually whispered, although still by his side. She did want to get a little bit cleaned off, though, mainly because she didn't want to go back to the castle a mess.

Sage chuckled lightly and felt a smile drift onto his face in response to her kiss. He nodded and sat up with a grunt before standing up and offering his hands to the girl, a soft smile still on his face. It would be good to swim and clean off for a bit before heading back. He didn't want them to go back to the castle looking like they'd been out in the woods all night long. Which, they sort of had, but that didn't mean they had to go back looking like some kind of monkey or anything. Once the girl was up, he tugged her in the direction of the lake and into the water before sinking under for a moment and then resurfacing, looking up at the girl happily.

Mari grinned lightly when he took her hand, though when the cool water touched her feet she woke up a little bit, the cold making her shiver before she let herself dip under the water, she smiled when he grinned at her and went on her back and let herself float for a moment before reaching over to Sage with a grin, gently flicking some water at him in a slightly playful manner before swimming away, kind of inviting him to chase her, just wanting to mess around a little bit.

Sage chuckled lightly when Mari flicked the water at him. He felt a wide, dumb grin form on his face when she swam away, and he paddled after her eagerly. It would be fun to mess around like this a bit...they'd had fun the night before, of course, but this was different. It was times like this when they could act like children, a little bit, which they'd never really gotten to do when they were actually young. But, they could mess around now, and he certainly had no issues chasing Mari about. Not when he was in a playful mood and she was so pretty. Really, he'd screw around whenever, but today was nice, he could admit that.

Mari couldn't help her joyful smile when he started paddling after her, a kind of squeak escaping her when she turned her head and saw him directly behind her. She let out a laugh and tried to paddle away from him, splashing him the best she could as she made her departure. She did feel the need to get back... she had to feed Silas, as he hadn't been of formula for a while and she didn't want him getting sick all of a sudden, and she certainly didn't want to leave the doctor with a crying baby... but she also thought the old man would have wanted to let them be kids for once... they were barely adults, with still very childish minds, so being able to get that time where they could mess around and have fun was important, to say the least.
