Iris finished organizing the books and looked at her phone. -How old is he?- Was all she said, going down a short hallway and opening a door that led to her bedroom. She stripped the sheets and pillowcases, folding them and piling them next to the door, then going back into the hallway to the closet. She got her other set of sheets, white with small blue designs, and went back to her room.

-he's three, he'll be four next month.- He explained, throwing the great dane's ball across the room, the dog chasing after it. Caden stood, walking to the kitchen and grabbing a glass, pouring in scotch before taking a sip, the liquid bitter and burning in all the right ways.

It took Iris a few minutes to make the bed, so she didn't look at her phone. She then turned on the vacuum and started in the kitchen, barely able to hear the music over it.

Caden noted he was left on delivered, sighing softly as he set his phone face down on the countertop, finishing off the glass and reaching for the bottle in the cabinet. He unscrewed the cap, taking a long swig, deciding then it was going to be a terribly long, long night.

As if summoned by Caden's depression, Iris stopped the vacuum and checked her phone. She realized she'd left him hanging and texted, -You'd better not be feeling bad for yourself right now. If you're moping because you're lonely, then do something about it instead of being depressed.- Iris hoped that wasn't too forceful, but she also knew he needed help when he got like that. Hopefully he wouldn't take it badly.

Caden just chuckled at the text, shaking his head lightly as he took another swig. -now how on earth did you know lol- He sent, realizing he already missed her. -god, i miss you already and that is real hard to say-

Iris smiled at his reply. -I have telepathy.- Then, a moment later, -Except it only works on you. Don't ask me why.-

|
-hm, or i just said too much, either way- He sent the text, unsure if it sounded funny like the way intended, or if it sounded regretful, which he didn't want. He trusted her with his life--which, to be fair, she would kinda hold if she read that book--yet still, did he say too much?

|
-Nah, I just have brain powers. Don't try to deny it.- Iris continued her vacuuming, while holding her phone so she could multitask. She finished the kitchen and started on the living room and the circular rug that made it feel a little more like home.

-if so then what am i doing right now? first off, what does telepathy even mean? i've never heard that word lol still haven't learnt all of english- Caden sent the text, sitting back down as he took another swig, the edges dulling a smidge, making everything loads more tolerable.
