Adele smiled through her tears at Caelan's raspy voice. "You getting sick happened," she replied, kissing his forehead. "Listen, I've never tried healing sickness before, only wounds, but..." She hesitated. "Would you let me give it a try? I don't know what might happen. It could work, but it also might not..." Adele trailed off, biting her lip in fear.

"I trust you, baby. Try if you're comfortable." He said in a raspy voice, coughing once more.

(Sorry, these past couple of days have been super busy) . Adele nodded, trying to smile. It didn't work. She glanced at the door, worried someone might come in and find out what she was. "Is it okay to do it here? Could someone see me?" Suddenly she was ashamed that she was more worried about keeping her secret then keeping Caelan alive. "Never mind," Adele said, preparing to begin.

(same all good) "Nobody will bother me." He said, grabbing a dagger off his bedside table and and throwing it weakly under the door, jamming it locked. Panting, he nodded. "You're safe, baby" he gasped, exhausted

Adele nodded, trying not to cry at Caelan's state. She closed her eyes and the light began to envelop her. A few moments later, she opened her eyes and, in wolf form, jumped lightly onto the bed next to Caelan. She put a paw on his stomach, careful to be gentle. Only a few minutes later, she had finished. She spun back into human form and knelt next to Caelan, looking him over. Had she done anything? Had her powers healed him?

Caelan felt a bit stronger but not much difference. He looked down at himself, curious. " I don't think it fixed everything. But thank you, darling" he said, taking her hand

Adele began to cry at his words. "I'm sorry, I tried, I really tried..." She trailed off, trying to think of other ways to cure him. "Wait, Caelan." She said, tears slowing as she remembered what the doctors had said. "Why did you send those doctos away?"
| |

"what doctors?" He asked, genuinely confused
| |

Adele stopped breathing. "What do you mean, what doctors? The ones I sent to help you! They said the king had told them that they weren't needed." She was beginning to panick, mind racing.

"I was never told ou sent doctors...who told you th-" He cut off, coughing like a madman. His arms clutched his torso in grave pain. "They never told me"
