Lorelei woke not long after he left. She immediately noticed he was gone and sat up fast. "Kai!" she screamed, terrified of being alone again. "No!! Kai come back! Please!!" she shrunk away into the covers, sobbing.

Kai sprinted up the stairs. "Baby, it's okay, I'm here. I'm sorry, I was just grabbing a snack...Shh, it's alright, Lorelei. You're safe. I'm sorry, I didn't think you'd wake up"

Lorelei sprinted over to him, jumping into his arms and sobbing into his chest.

"It's okay, baby" He said, repeating it over and over. "You're safe, darling"

Lorelei sobbed into his shoulder.

Kai held her and whispered reassuring things to her

Lorelei got better over the next few months. She still wasn't comfortable with doing anything more than kissing with Kai after what had happened, but otherwise, she could be alone for a bit and she was fine again.

Kai was cooking breakfast and brought it up to her in the bedroom. "Here you go, beautiful" He said softly, pecking her cheek

Lorelei smiled sleepily up at him. "Thank you,"

"What's on the agenda for you? I have a meeting this afternoon and I wanted to check with you if you were okay staying here or would you like to come?"
