Kylie nodded, "I want you to stay," she whispered.

"I will, then." Max mused, standing. "I'm gonna go get a drink, you want anything while i'm up?"
| |
| |

"Max... can you just... not drink tonight?"
| |

Max swallowed hard, flicking his gaze away from her. "I was talking about water and stuff.." He murmured, glancing at her for a nanosecond.

"Oh, sorry, no, Im fine, but thanks,"

Max nodded silently, quietly slipping out and down to the kitchen. He hadn't come for a cup of water, he'd come to get some whiskey or Scotch or anything. He didn't care anymore. The man's hands shook as he walked to the sink, noting her parents were probably asleep by now as he splashed cold water onto his face. The chillness shook him slightly, wiping his face off with a paper towel before tossing it. "Max... can you just... not drink tonight?" He thought back to Kylie's words, guilt and shame creeping into his mind. Good God, what had he become? Drank so much even his girlfriend was commenting on it? He had wanted to say he was sorry but, sorry for what? Sorry for becoming such a wreck he couldn't even go a day without whiskey and such? Sorry for getting so far into it he carried a flask in his school bag and half the time to work? "Why do I do these things...." Max muttered under his breath, breath coming short as his pulse raced and panic flooded him.

Kylie sat in her bed, waiting for him to come back. She felt quite guilty about what she'd said. So when he didnt come back, she got up, wandering over to him in the kitchen. She could hear his breathing before she saw him. Kylie approached the man, gently putting a hand on his back. "Max, hey," she said softly. "Whats wrong?"
| |

Max flinched whenever she put a hand on his back, looking at her with wide eyes before back down at his hands. "Sorry... i'm just sorry, I-I didn't know it was so bad until you told me not to do it.." He muttered, panic still overwhelming him.

"Oh, Max..." she sighed softly. Gently, she took him back to her room so they wouldn't wake up her parents. "Max... shh," she held him. "We can figure it out together, okay?"

| |

"I've been trying, Kylie, I really have. And it always seems I can't even go a single day without it. I'm trying, I promise you I am..." He murmured, leaning into her touch slightly as he calmed.
