Anya wrinkled her nose playfully. "I don't know... he seems like the kind of person to hide them away in a little box, don't you think?" The girl teased lightly. She had known the doctor since she was a child, and even then he hadn't been the nicest of people. It made her wonder if the man had always been so bitter and cold. He had served her family since her father was her age so, of course, she trusted the guy, but there had always been something slightly off about him, though he most likely wasn't some soul-stealing monster. Anya took another glance at Sage with a pensive smile, wondering what he was thinking just then... if he was thinking anything. He looked peaceful, but he seemed to be edging closer to her. The girl didn't mind, she just rested a hand on his side and shifted a little to get comfortable. She let her gaze flutter back to Lizzie, who was now finishing off her mopping. "Do you think you'll want something to eat tonight? I can run to the kitchen and pick something up for the both of you."

Lizzie giggled and shrugged. "Well, maybe he collects a few here and there," she joked along with Anya. She set the mop aside, leaning it on the wall, and sat down on a chair. "Hmm, I think it would do sage some good to eat something while he isn't hurting as much. I can't give him too many poppy seeds or he'll fall asleep and never wake up, so while he's not in as much pain he should eat some." She tapped her fingers on her leg, thinking. "He'll be up in a hour or so, probably, because he's stubborn and refuses to sleep for too long. You can bring it whenever you have time to."

Anya gave a small nod. "I'll go in a little bit. I'm sure there will be a bit left the chefs would be happy to give up." She murmured thoughtfully. "Is there anything Sage particularly likes? I'm sure he'll be more inclined to eat it's something he actually enjoys." She shrugged slightly, knowing that he was finding it hard to keep anything down anyway. "And is there anything you'd like? I'm sure I can get the cooks to whip something good up." Anya asked with a light smile.

Lizzie shook her head. "We'll eat anything. We've learned not to be picky." She thought for a second and made a face. "I actually haven't seen Sage eat much..he usually gives me the food and says he has more at the tavern or whatever." She didn't know that he was lying and he gave her most of the food...he didn't tell her that's what was really going on

Anya pouted thoughtfully. She didn't want to pick anything up that they wouldn't enjoy, or that would make Sage ill again, which the rich foods that the castle served most likely would do. "I'll see what they have then." Anya smiled softly, gently patting Sage's side before standing up. "They might have some desert or something left too! I'll pick some up for you. I won't be too long." She smiled slightly before padding back out the door.

Lizzie smiled over at Anya with a nod. "Ok sounds good! We'll be here" she giggled. "Sage may or may not be awake by the time you get back." She waved at Anya and then went over to the bed and sat down next to Sage and stared at the ceiling, daydreaming. Sage continues to sleep deeply, though when Anya's body heat left he curled up into a tighter ball since the other air seemed chilly for a moment. Edited at August 19, 2022 12:00 PM by NightClan

Anya made a b line for the kitchens, keen not to be seen by any of the servants as she went through their halls. The kitchens were as busy as always, but seemed to quiet down when she entered. She understood why... it wasn't very often a princess walked into your kitchen. She gave a wonky smile before looking around the kitchen. "Do you have any left overs from tonight's dinner? I'm still kinda hungry." She grumbled, to no one in particular. One of the chefs gave a nod and pointed to a silver platter, filled with clippings from that evening. She had been given a few weird looks. Anya never went in the kitchens... even when she wanted something, she would normally just send one of her maids. She gave a smile before grabbing the platter, hearing a few whispers behind her from the kitchen workers before plodding out again.

Lizzie day dreamed until she felt Sage stir beside her. She looked over at him, on her hands and knees and leaning over him with a wide grin. Sage opened his eyes and saw her face a few inches from his. He made a face at her. "You drugged me," he grumbled, still half asleep. "But you rested well," Lizzie chirped. Sage made a face again and shoved her off him, sitting up. It took a minute, since he was a bit sore and stiff. The poppy seeds helped, but they were already starting to wear off a bit, and they didn't take away all of the pain. He sighed and leaned against the bed frame, still half asleep but slowly waking up. Edited at August 19, 2022 01:39 PM by NightClan

The girl wandered along the halls, carefully avoiding everyone she could. While it was normal to see someone walking around the castle with food, it most certainly wasn't normal to see Anya of all people wandering in the opposite direction of her room and towards the servant's quarters. What would she say if anyone asked? 'Oh, I'm just taking my food for a walk.'? People that worked in the castle were a lot of things... but stupid simply wasn't one of them. Eventually, she made it back to their little room and slipped through the door with a big grin on her face.

Sage blearily looked over at Anya and fluttered a hand in a sort of wave. "Did you give my sister permission to drug me with a flower," he muttered with a tiny yawn. Lizzie giggled and went over to clear the table off so Anya could put down the huge tray she was holding. Sage looked at the tray curiously, wondering what was on it. Food obviously, but what kind of food he had no idea. Edited at August 19, 2022 02:32 PM by NightClan
