(sorry on alt lol) Ellie knew that there were a few dangerous animals around, they were sometimes out in the day too, but for some reason the dark made it a little more hard to handle. She gave Sam a small nod, but it wasn't like he could see it. "Yeah," she said quietly, her voice faint, almost as though it didn't want to come out. She walked shoulder to shoulder with Sam, like she was scared to loose him. Edited at May 3, 2021 06:11 AM by Mad Grape

(scared me for a second there lol) Shoulder to shoulder, Sam pushed though some undergrowth to finally reeal the well-lit path back to the yard. "phew." he said to Ellie, a little shakedly. "made it." They walked slowly togather into the yard, where the horses were dozing happily in the stalls lining the yard. Sam turned to Ellie.

"Gladly so," she breathed with a small chuckle. "Lets not take quite so long next time, yeah?" Ellie asked with a wonky smile. The light was a relief to her, so she was happy to welcome it. She stopped just inside the stables before being a little quieter, "thank you for inviting me," Ellie smiled, "it was fun."

"truth be told," Sam said. "i'm a tad scared of the dark." he admitted, laughing a little at it. "but yeah, it was fun, and no worries." he said as they reached the long row of stables. "it was really nice to do something other than ride the horses for once!" Said Sam, patting a horse's nose, who had just poked it out of the stable door.

"Mhm, I could see that," she laughed before shaking her head, "Yes it really was, and its nice to have a stroll without slicing yourself open, huh?" She said with a teasing wink. No, she wasn't going to let it go. Ever. She paused to look at the row of horses that had their heads peaking out of the stable doors before smiling, "you know how lucky we are to be here?" She asked brightly.

"so lucky." Said Sam peacefully, leaning back against the wooden wall. as he did this, one last ray of golden light lit up the spot and made his body illuminate. He stayed there for a little while, eyes closed, lips parted and face relaxed as he soaked in the energy from the sun and the horses all around him.

Ellie nodded her agreement with him as her body deflated slightly. She set her eyes on the tree line, where the suns rays flooded over the top, only just reaching the old barn. Her eyes followed the rays until they met their end, of what was seemingly Sam. He looked so peaceful that the smile that was creeping onto her face almost seemed to little.

Staying there for a few more moments, a smile lingering on his parted lips, Sam opened his eyes. He saw horses grazing, the sea in the distance, the forest and Ellie standing peacefully before him. All the things he loved most in the world. (sorry short!)

(It's fine! Mines a little short here too lol^^) Ellie quickly averted her gaze from Sam as soon as she noticed his eyes on her. Well, she knew he wasn't looking at her inparticular but she still refused to be caught out for stairing.

Sam looked away, sensing her awkwardness. He got up, and moved to go towards the post-and rails fence where the horses were. Sitting there, he looked out across the beautiful landscape. And then the heavens opened. Warm rain pelted down from the sky above them both. At first Sam was a little shocked, his clothes and hair instantly soaked. But then a big grin creeped across his face as he jumped down off the fence, arms wide as he looked up at the sky and spun around in lopsided circles, enjoying the rain on his skin.
