Sage chuckled at the girl's tease and shrugged. "She's a good horse," he hummed fondly, looking over at the filly, who turned to look at them with pricked ears, as if knowing they were talking about her. After a moment she reached her nose out to huff a breath in Sage's face fondly before looking over at Mari curiously and sniffing her arm gently. Sage reached forward to peck the filly on the forehead happily before nodding in response to Mari's suggestions. "That's fine with me," he chirped. "Food and then wedding stuff, got it," he hummed. Then he gave the girl a grin. "But I'm not carrying you all the way around town," he noted with amusement. "Not when you have two functional legs of your own."

Mari smiled lightly when the filly went to sniff her arm, a small chuckle escaping her. She was definitely getting a bit better with the horses. They didn't freak her out so much, but it was mainly because she wanted to like them for Sage. "She's a cutie," she hummed gently. She pouted at him and wrapped her legs around his waist in the complaint. "Oh, but I'm so very tired," she joked before pecking his neck again. "Put me down and I might be able to use my two very functional legs," she huffed in a kind of complaint to the boy, though was of course more than happy to walk about herself. "What are you wanting to eat? It's getting late so nothing to barish," she told him after a few moments.

Sage hummed lightly in agreement to Maria comment about mystery and nodded. "she'll be someone's dream horse one day," he murmured. She'd stay at the castle, so he'd always see her and be able to say hello, he knew that, but part of him would still miss her. He huffed slightly and set the girl down gently before turning to take a hold of her hand. "I'm not sure....maybe one of the small places in town," he suggested. "There's a few...we can look around and decide."

Mari landed with a bit of a squeak but smiled and grabbed his hand tightly anyway. "I'll have whatever you want," she chirped happily. She didn't care... she just wanted to have a good time with him. It had been months since she'd had some alone time with him, so finally being able to just have some fun with him was nice. It didn't even have to be overly romantic, although she did like the idea of being romanced a little bit, she was just happy to have him to herself for a little bit. She walked with him happily for a bit before cocking her head. "Are you going to get a nice suit or something - for our wedding?" She didn't expect him to show up in rags or anything... but she was excited to see how everything went.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded before tugging the girl in the direction of the castle gates. "We'll figure something out," he chirped. He didn't really care where they went, as long as it wasn't the tavern. That wasn't a very romantic place anyway....it was a bit crusty. He shrugged when she asked him the question about their wedding and hummed thoughtfully. "I'll get something...I have a suit from the formal, but I don't think that's wedding worthy," he chuckled. "I have to look around and figure it out," he hummed. He'd probably have Anya take him to the tailors at some point, or he'd find something at a store. He pointed to a cozy looking little restaurant after a bit of walking. "How about we eat there?" It was close to a bunch of shops too.

Mari nodded lightly to the boy before shrugging. "I don't mind... as long as you don't show up in something your ex gave you for an event with you years ago, we'll be fine," she rolled her eyes at her own sarcastic tone, not meaning for it to come out so... passively aggressive. "Just show up, that's all I want from you," she told him with a gentle chuckle. She glanced towards the little restaurant where a few people were walking in and out of. "Of course, it looks nice enough," she chirped happily. "Lead the way," she told him with a bit of a hum... she wasn't really sure what she wanted, she wasn't exactly used to eating out, but she was sure anything would be nice.

Sage raised an eyebrow and chuckled slightly at the girl's comment, rather amused at it all because....well, he technically didn't have an ex. "You do realize you're the only person I've ever actually dated right," he noted with amusement. Then he rolled his eyes and shrugged. "I'm sure I can manage that," he mused lightly. He nodded and tugged the girl inside the building happily. It was small, and cheap enough, and the winter seemed relitively friendly. There was a lot on the menu, so he just picked something he decided might be good.

Mari gave a bit of a pout to him. "You know what I mean. You weren't just friends, were you?" she eventually told him with a bit of a chuckle. She wasn't a particularly jealous person, but there weren't many people who would be content with their fiance showing up in something like that to their wedding. It was the wrong kind of formal, too. She needed to pick something else up for herself too... she wouldn't be able to afford anything particularly nice, but she'd put a bit aside for the wedding... so it wouldn't be awful. She followed him in happily before sitting across from him, and picking up the menu... it all looked good, so picked what she thought would be the best before waiting to be served.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded. "Oh, I know," he laughed. "I'm just joking around and you know it," he chirped, nudging the girl lightly. He wouldn't do anything like that though, and she knew it...he was bad at this whole romance thing, but even he wasn't that stupid. He'd find something nice, but didn't want it to be too expensive. A dress would cost more than a suit, and was a bit more important, he thought, so he wanted to have a bit extra for Mari just in case. Their food came soon enough, once they'd ordered, and it was pretty good. Though, in his opinion, Mari's cooking was better. But he was a bit biased.

Mari rolled her eyes at him before pouting playfully. "Were you, though?" she mused lightly. Of course, she didn't particularly care. She was just more than thrilled that she was the person he wanted to be with. When the food showed up, she grinned and thanked the waiter... she'd gotten some kind of pasta, and it was actually amazing... she enjoyed every bite. Then again, she enjoyed pretty much all foods. "This is tasty," she hummed happily to the boy. She knew he wasn't amazing with the whole romance thing, and while she did like to be wooed a bit from time to time, she truly was just so happy to be around him.
