Gale hooked an arm around her waist and dragged her to him even asleep, shifting before going still once more.

Gale woke roughly an hour later, still fuming slightly from the earlier interaction. Saints above...this was getting tiring. First he was living a fun life with her, then she decided to go and rEcLaIm HeR eNtIrE kInGdOm HeR bRoThEr StOle. Yeah, right, like he wanted to do that. Only thing he could do was smile and nod, having no choice knowing either stay with her or have even more people chasing after him. He yanked his arms away from her waist in disgust, huffing a breath out of his nose as he reached for the dagger on his nightstand in anger, tightening his grip around it before looking over at Kayla, figuring if he just brought it down he could have the whole kingdom to himself. The riches, the fame, the praise, all his. He blinked. As the man came to his senses he chunked the dagger out the balcony window, it clattered against the stone before silencing as it fell down the three story drop to the ground below. Gale's breath started coming short as he stood abrubtly out of bed, stumbling to their bathroom before locking the door behind him and sinking to the ground as his vision started blurring. What was wrong with him? Why was he thinking that? She was the entire reason he wasn't dead, and he wanted to kill her. He held his head in his hands, everything crashing down on him as the tears fell freely now, shoulders shaking as he did. Stone can still support itself if it has cracks, until eventually, the cracks become too large, and everything breaks.

Kayla woke when he began crying, looking at him with worry. "Babe, why are you crying?" She breathed softly, wrapping her arms around him

Gale heard her through the door, asking why he was crying as he collected himself for a moment, voice somewhat strong as he spoke through the locked door, his hand tight on the knob to make sure it couldn't be turned anyways. "I-" He managed, a choked sob following it as he furiously wiped at his face, though more tears kept replacing the ones he wiped. "Go back to bed."

"let me in, babe..." She pleaded

"I said go back to bed." He snapped, squeezing his eyes shut as he tipped his head back against the door.

She stilled, her face dropping as she left him and sat on the bed

Gale collected himself, too ashamed to tell her why he was locking himself away as he stood, walking over to the sink before scrubbing the tear marks away, putting in some eye drops to make his eyes less red before he walked out, mask back in place.
