Sage sighed when he heard the girl squeak, hoping she'd feel better soon. He hated to see her like this, he really did. But he also figured that healing anything takes time, especially something so deep. Something had to happen for her to almost bleed out, after all. But he felt a smile cross his face when she turned to bury into him and wrapped his arms around her happily, burying his nose into her hair. He was reminded again of how nice she smelled...sweet and light, kind of like spring grass. He let out a tiny sigh and closed his eyes, intending to just rest for a few moments, but eventually falling asleep. He hadn't meant to...but he'd been up all night, letting Mari sleep and heal, so he was tired.

Mark rested with him, listening to his heartbeat and feeling the soft rise and fall of his chest. It was comforting... his scent... so warm, and fresh, like a forest in the early morning... she'd missed being able to just cuddle without feeling the need to be sick. She needed to talk to the doctor about exactly what went wrong... the idea of giving birth again didn't appeal to her, but she knew Sage wanted another... if she did have another, she wanted to be able to prevent what had happened from happening again... because she could have lost her baby, and she could have passed out and never woken up again... she couldn't do that to Sage. She'd hate herself for it. When she noticed he'd fallen to sleep, she smiled and pecked a light kiss to his chin before settling down, and eventually fell asleep again.

Sage slept for a while, before he woke to the soft coo of the baby in his crib. Mari was still asleep, so he gently untangled himself from the girl and went over to scoop Silas up, pressing a light kiss to his head. "Hey baby," he hummed quietly, not wanting to wake Mari up. She still needed to heal, and she couldn't do that if she didn't sleep. He lay back down in the bed, after feeding the baby, and felt Amber curl back up against his side, and Mari was pressed up against his other side. He left Silas laying comfortably on his chest and drifted off again...he was still pretty tired, and he was cuddled up with everyone, and Silas was alright, so he kept and arm around him while keeping the other around Mari. Amber didn't get an arm, since he only had two. More arms would be nice....but he supposed that wasn't likely to happen. But the cat was content to curl up next to him anyway.

Mari woke up a tiny bit when the baby let out a coo. She tried to get back to sleep, but when she heard Sages voice, she opened her eyes a tiny bit, only to see him with the baby flopped on his chest. She felt a small smile on her face, and cuddled in a tiny bit more, just to be close to the two... she spilled an arm around Sages side and rested her head on his shoulder, her hand gently around the cat... she supposed the boy would have wanted to scoop her up too. She felt safe with her two boys... like this was right. She couldn't be happier, despite the slight pain that still burned. She drifted off to sleep happily. She was clean, and warm, and over all she was just comfortable, which she was certainly happy about.

Sage had gone back to sleep fairly quickly, though he was dimly aware of the girl turning to wrap her arm around him. It brought a lingering smile to his face, even as he slipped off to sleep. They slept like that for the rest of the night, thankfully. He woke up once or twice to give Silas a bottle, but that was it. It wasn't so bad....the boy was a sleepy one, so he wasn't up all night, which was wonderfully nice. He woke up the next morning to the baby's coo, and slid out of bed to pad over to find another bottle.

Mari woke out a little bit later thasn Sage had... she was so tired. But better, for sure. She leaned out to find some pain killers in her draws, and dosed up on them before sighing. She lookead around for Sage, only to see him looking about for another bottle. She looked thoughtful for a moment before sighing and grabbing the child and cradling him in her arms. "Morning baby boy," she murmured quietly... he was really awake for the first time she'd seen him... and he was so sweet. So perfect. Her chest ached when she looked at him and placed s lightl kiss to the child's temple before getting comfortable again.

Sage rummaged about for a few moments before padding back to where Mari was holding the baby. "You want to feed him," he asked, offering her the bottle tiredly. Even if Silas hadn't woken up excessively, Sage still hadn't slept much, and he hadn't eaten since Mari had gone into labor. Lunch that day, he thought. But she didn't need to know that....she'd just be worried about him and he didn't want that.

Mari looked up to see her fiancé looking completely shattered... she felt her heard break a little bit for him. He had barely slept, she knew that. If he was so tried, why hadn't he woken her up? She couldn't get out of bed, but she could have seen to the child for him. When he asked if she wanted to feed him, she nodded and took the bottle from him to feed little Silas. "Sage, please don't try and do everything yourself... I'm here to help too," she whispered to him, having to bite the inside of her cheek to stop her chin wobbling. She felt awful that he was so tired... she could see it all over his face. She patted her chest for him to rest his head... he really just needed some rest and good food, she thought.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded, curling up beside the girl with a yawn. "I know," he murmured, pressing up to peck her on the cheek. "You need rest to heal up...then things will even out a bit more, I promise," he whispered, nestling into Mari happily. He watched the baby nurse for a few minutes before drifting off again, appreciative of the rest. He knew he could nap through the day though, and he didn't have to work for a week or so...so everything should be alright by then. Mari would be healed enough, and they could share getting up a bit more. He just wanted to do something for her....because he did still feel awful about not being able to help her before.

Mari shook her head a little bit to the boy. She wished he'd let her take some it the burden a little bit. They could perhaps move the crib next to the bed so that she could see to him during the night... maybe. Mari let the baby nurse on the bottle for a little bit before eventually sighing and putting him down once she'd rocked him to sleep. She placed him down after a little bit and curled back up into Sage, as tired as anything... she could rest. She'd have months to get into a bit of a routine with all of this... she hoped so.
