Sage blinked slowly, shaking his head. "Babe....that swim is the only thing keeping us in a home and fed," he pointed out. "That's probably the most important thing to do...and the most stressful."
| |

"Okay. But definitely not the most stressful. I just go wandering around and find a bunch of stuff,"

Sage shook his head. "But it's important....of you don't find anything then it's stressful," he noted. "Chores at home can always be out of a day or whatever. That can't."

"I still don't feel like I'm doing enough for you..." he whispered. "I just wanna do something nice for you the way you do to me,"

Sage sighed softly nodding. "I know," he murmured. "But I want you to know you don't have to."

"I know I don't have to, but I want to,"

Sage just nodded, reaching for remys hand and squeezing it. "Ok," he noted softly. He was nervous Remy would decide he was giving him too much work to do and get upset but ...he trusted his judgement

Remy smiled, squeezing his hand back.

Sage went back to eating after a while, keeping remys hand lightly clasped in his. Once they were done though, they moved to do their normal routine...sage washing and Remy drying.

While drying dishes, Remy accidentally dropped a plate on the ground, it shattering into tiny sharp pieces. He cursed and bent down to collect the shards, but he didn't realize they were sharp until it was too late. "Ow!- Sorry," he muttered, continuing to clean up the shards even while his hand was bleeding from the broken plate.
