The silence between them faultered,Gale eventually deciding to break it. "What if the only thing standing between us and our dreams is the fear of daring to believe they could be real?"

Gale paused, his gaze drifting to the floor as the weight of his own words hung in the air. "I mean... sometimes I think about it, you know? That one simple thing—just kissing you again. Just to feel like things could be... different. But then, I remember how small those dreams are compared to the bigger ones I forget to chase." He ran a hand through his hair, pulling himself back into the conversation, away from his fleeting thought. "Maybe we're all just too afraid to even try."

Gale let out a slow, teasing smile, his gaze lingering on Kayla. "Is that so?" He stepped a little closer, his voice dropping to a low, playful tone. "I could’ve sworn you were the one who told me not to get too comfortable with second chances." He raised an eyebrow, letting the tension hang in the air for just a beat too long. "But if you’re offering... maybe I’ll take you up on that." He leaned in just enough for her to feel the heat of his breath, his eyes locking with hers. "You sure you wouldn’t mind if I kissed you again?" Before she could answer, he gave her a small, almost challenging smile, then closed the space between them, his lips brushing hers in a way that felt like both a promise and a question.

Gale pulled back slightly, his lips still tingling from the kiss, and flashed a playful grin. "I’m not sure if I’m the perfect lover, but I’m definitely good at making moments memorable." He leaned in a little closer again, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I guess you’ll have to decide that for yourself, won’t you?" The air around them felt charged, like a spark just waiting to catch fire.

Gale’s grin softened as he heard her response. "Guess so, huh?" he repeated, his tone light but teasing. He leaned in a little, just enough to make the moment feel a bit more intimate. "Well, I’m glad to hear it," he said, his smooth tone adding a subtle warmth to the words. His fingers brushed lightly over the back of her hand, his touch gentle but lingering. "I wasn’t sure if you were going to make me work for that kiss, or if you’d just let me have it," he added with a small laugh, his eyes meeting hers with a playful glint. "Guess I got lucky." He paused for a second, giving her a teasing smile. "You know, if you keep looking at me like that, I might have to kiss you again. Not that I’d mind."

Kayla looked down, a blush forming lightly on her cheeks. She looked up at him after a moment. "Maybe I won't be so nice next time" She warned quietly. He was so close to her, a feeling of warmth coursing through her
