"Aha! Who's your Angel supervisor so I can go tell them you didn't do the best possible job helping?" Ajax chuckled, a teasing grin on his face. "Awww, that's not nice. Help a poor demon out, would ya?" He asked with a slightly pitiful expression, though his eyes sparkled like the Fourth of July fireworks. "How can I be insulted with all these compliments you're giving me?" Ajax smiled sweetly. For some curious reason, when Mercy said her last thing... a little flicker of something flared up in his dark eyes and his face twitched. It immediately vanished, and he looked mostly normal again, but as Mercy probably knew... Ajax's eyes never lied. "Huh. No, he's too scared of you to be jealous. That man wouldn't insult a cat if it hissed at him." He scoffed. "Plus that was a DARE and it is totally not real. You two would be absolutely terrible together, and I have no love sense whatsoever... coming from my dad never letting me come in contact with any girl that wasn't my mom or my sister... and the devil putting a curse on me that made me not like girls so much. Usually. Anyway, the point is, coming from me who has no love sense at all, that means you two would be REALLY bad together." Ajax offered helpfully

"Well, theres only one but I don't think he would be too thrilled about a demon complaining about an angel." Mercy grinned, scoffing. "Right, because you're a poor, helpless little demon." She said mockingly. She let out a slightly frustrated sigh. "Because they're supposed to be insults." She whined, putting her food down on the table and looking back at him. She raised her eyebrows ever so slightly at his... strange reaction to her words, a sly smile flicking across her face. "I guess you're right." She nodded, giving him a slightly skeptical look as he told her just how bad Goose was as a match. Twice over. "I dunno, I kinda feel like you're telling me to marry him." She said sarcastically, reaching down to pet Rex. "Y'know, Ajax, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you seem a little... jealous." She teased, glancing up at him.

Ajax raised his eyebrows. "Oh good, I'll do that right away," he started whistling as if walking away. "Nevermind, not a helpless demon. That is not the right card to play right now." He mused, then grinned. "Well in any case, Thanks for the compliments." He chuckled. "Yuck, marry GOOSE? He would probably rather you pluck all the feathers out of his wings, if I'm being honest." Ajax grimaced, making a face. The next words that Mercy said made him flinch slightly, shaking his head. "Nope, not at all, keep dreaming." He answered... a tiny bit too quickly...

"Oh, it is always the right card to play." Mercy teased, curling up and leaning back. "I dunno, if he shaved his facial hair, I wouldn't be too appalled." She joked, rolling her eyes. "It's not so unbelievable that someone would want to marry me, Ajax." She huffed. She raised her eyebrows as he flinched, brightening. "Really? Not even... a little, tiny bit jealous of my fake boyfriend?" She asked , smiling at him with her head tilted.

She brightened as he flinched* just doesn't seem right to most people... unless it is these two...))

"nope." Ajax shook his head, then widened his eyes. "Goose, shave his facial hair? He's in love with it! Rooster doesn't shave because he doesn't care, Goose shaves a little just to get the right AMOUNT of facial hair because it has to be PERFECT, and I shave enough it doesn't get in my way. WHY would you EVER pick him out of us three charming yet stubborn citizens?" Ajax scoffed, then widened his eyes. "Wait, it isn't? Huh. Weird." He mumbled with a quizzical look, though he was trying not to laugh. "Not jealous..." He twitched slightly when he said the word. "At all. I have nothing to be jealous of." Ajax teased, which for most people meant they were telling the truth... but he usually used humor to cover up his emotions. Whether hurt, pain, anger, or jealousy, Ajax was amazing at using humor to hide it all.

For them, it all makes sense lol))

"Oh, sorry, I didn't know it was a choice. But if I had my pick, I would definitely be torn between you and Rooster." She teased, pretending to think for a moment. "I mean, maybe you. It would take some serious thinking." She said sarcastically. She sent a glare his way. "Oh, great, thanks. Glad to know I'm 'nothing's to be jealous over." She huffed.

"Oh well that's delightful to hear I'm even in the consideration. Even with Rooster's stubborn Scottish background?" Ajax asked with a chuckle, raising his eyebrows. "Hm? Say that again? I didn't hear you the first time." He said with a smile, then winced a little. "Well, okay, fine, what I said was a tad bit defensive. If you would like to hear the other end, here. My goodness Mercy I'm sure every boy up in heaven, on earth, or down in hell is fighting over your beautiful face right now. I'm just certain they all want you as their girlfriend because you are just stunningly pretty and quite adorable if I can say so myself. Of course I was lying and I am extremely jealous over you. So sorry." Ajax quipped with a strong British accent, giving a charming smile in the process. "Was that better madam needy?" He asked with another eyebrow raise

Mercy rolled her eyes and then answered him. "Out of the choice of you three miraculous bachelors, you, Ajax, my love, would be the obvious choice." She said dramatically, grinning at him as he spewed sarcastic compliments to her. She nodded approvingly as he finished. "Mmm, yes, it was. But you forgot to say that you're blessed by my angelic prescence and you would kill for my love." She said sarcastically, flopping across his lap with a dramatic sigh.

"Oh splendid because that was totally what I was thinking." Ajax commented with a small bow, which was hard to do when you were sitting and couldn't really bend. "Yes, but- no- wait- stop- hey- arghhhhhhhhh" Ajax groaned with anguish, letting his head flop back as Mercy yet AGAIN sat on his lap. "ALL THOSE COMPLIMENTS... and this is what I get? They weren't even sarcastic compliments, I meant every word!" He sighed, staring up at the ceiling. "I have killed for your love remember that, Mercy, which AINT GOOD. It wasn't you who finished Bellatrix off because, dear me, then we would have a murder... on your hands. No perfect little ANGEL could commit MURDER, so I staggered in and helped you at the last moment, just to make sure it was just one my check for my bloody list of people that angered me. Wow, how amazing am I?" Ajax hissed sarcastically, not looking very happy. "Not that it would change how people looked at me, nooo. Most just look at me and see a killer, purely because I'm a demon, and some look at me and all they see is something to be played with." His eyes snapped with sadness yet again as all the bad moments from his past flashed through his head, one my one. Every demon he had killed. Every broken bone he had survived through. Every beating he had recieved, all piled in his head at once. "I- Mercy, I don't think I can stay here any longer. You have been... amazing, to help me and stitch up my broken body but you can do nothing for my shattered, messed up mind. I need to be by myself for a little while. I- I'm- I'm sorry." Ajax said with a slight shake of his head, lifting Mercy off of his lap and placing her in the couch which you actually should sit on, then disappearing out the door. He went straight outside and launched himself into the sky with a gasp of pain, his wings flaring out which hadn't been used in so long aching and cracking. Ajax ignored it and flew into the clouds, then steadily towards his cave. Once he got there, instead of going inside, he flew up to the cliff above it... tucking in his wings and diving in a small hole. Inside sat a black bench close to a black piano, but that was the only thing in the room. Ajax had not gone in this room since the curse had been put on him, but he had so much grief welling up inside he needed this. He sat down on the stool, and, with a shuddering breath, started playing. The tune was slow and sad, ringing into his ears. He then started singing, with a voice that Mercy probably didn't know he had. A deep, sad voice that was perfect for this song. "Would anyone notice? If tonight, I disappeared. Would anyone chase me? And say the words that I need to hear. That I'm no burden, not so worthless, bent so much that I might just... break. All consuming, so confusing, the questions that keep me awake." He slipped into the chorus, tears welling up in his eyes. "Would anyone care? Would anyone cry... if I finally stepped off this ledge tonight. Would anything change? Would you all be just fine. Cause I need a reason to not throw the fight... it just might save my life...." Ajax paused, tears dripping onto the piano, then the sad tune kept playing as his fingers flew. "Would anyone want me? If they knew what was inside my head. Would anyone see me? For the person that I really am... I won't lie so hard to hide I've never felt worthy of love. I would give up everything I have just to be good enough... Would anyone care? Would anyone cry... if I finally stepped this ledge tonight, would anything change? Would you all be just fine... cause I need a reason to not throw the fight. It just might save my life.." he stopped, and the tune changed to a tiny bit more upbeat song but just as sad. "You burn so bright, I see stars. The way you laugh, it's like a heavenly choir. You made me feel, Invincible, when your with me, I could take on the world.." Ajax was obviously singing about someone in particular. "You were a comeeet... and I lost it.... watching for comets... will I see you again. You burn so bright... you burn me up tonight." The music became louder, faster. "Say my name, I'll be there, I didn't know, should've said that ya cared, it's not too late, for broken hearts. Take my hand, and make a wish on the staaars... You are a comet... and I lost it. Watching for comets... will I see you... again. Everybody needs someone, but they can't feel like this? How I breath with this burning in my chest... you were gone so fast, I want ya back... you were a comet... and I lost it. Watching for comets... will I see you... again?" Ajax's voice faded out with quiet sobs as tears fell onto the piano, washing the dust off. His shoulders shook with sobs as he put his head on the piano, wrapping his wings around himself.
