Ryker waited silently as they recieved the news, one hand gripped tightly onto Serpant's lead rope and the other wrapped around Abby's shoulders. After the firemen left he turned to her. "We rebuild. We can be thankful that it wasn't the barn, and that we weren't in there. If we hadn't have gone for a walk..." He trailed off before setting his jaw. "We can easily rebuild (since money ain't a problem in this dream world xD) and everything will go back to normal. It'll all be fine soon."

(Yeah lol this dream world and sorry for it being so short) - Abby nodded "but where will we sleep? Since there is only one room. That might not be safe..." She watched her horse lower her head to graze Edited at March 18, 2024 11:23 AM by Dandelion Farms

"Stop worrying about simple matters like SLEEP. It's not like you sleep much anyway." Ryker joked half-heartedly. "There's a hayloft in the barn- I can sleep there. Don't even think about complaining.. it's much more comfortable than where I slept the last 15 years of my life. I can put up a temporary wall within a day so the remainder of the house is enclosed, and I'll check the rest of the wiring."

"But I don't want you to feel secluded. Noooo. We can both figure out a way to share the room. It's fine. " Abby turned in his embrace until her back was leaning against him. "I want to see the damage though..." she brought the horses to a post close to the barn then walked slowly toward the house, carefully stepping on the floor and looking around.

"I wouldn't be secluded!" Ryker protested, rolling his eyes when she refused his simple and easy fix. He tied Serpant up as well before following her. "Fine, I'll sleep on the floor, problem solved." He then observed the house. "It'll be easy to put up a temporary wall right here."

Abby shook her head. "Noooo you can't sleep on the floor! It's not fair!" She nodded when he said something about the wall. She started thinking about how to fix their sleep problem, zoning out as she thought.

"I'll be FINE, the floor is ten times more comfortable than anywhere else." Ryker snorted, studying her for a moment and concluding she wasn't listening anymore.

Abby rolled her eyes, giving up. She walked around the room. "Ack I don't know what to do with this" she held up a shirt of hers that had holes in it from the fire. "This was my favorite!"

Ryker slowly lifted his eyebrows. "You're worried about a shirt?" He asked, shaking his head with slight amazement before walking into the charred ruins that had been his room and scooping out a burnt picture frame from the ashes. He stared at it for a moment before snapping it in half and throwing it in the dust.

Abby continued to rummage through her room, picking up burnt things and throwing them in a corner. She sighed, looking around at what used to be her safe place. "It looks so much different now..." she sighed and gingerly sat down on the bed.
