Caden chuckled softly, still smiling. "Yeah, guess I do. " He leaned in and lowered his voice to where the doctors couldn't hear. "Must say, the doctors weren't giving me any hope so," Caden shrugged. "that could be a reason." He then pulled away, going back to normal conversation. fr lmao 😭 ) Edited at March 18, 2025 12:09 PM by RFS Thoroughbreds

Rose's smile dropped momentarily as she grit her teeth and winced. "Shit" She muttered, her ody aching all at once

The doctors came over and pushed Caden away, him watching them with a worried expression.

"I'm....fine....." Rose snapped, her usual self leaking through the pain

The doctors kept bustling, Caden snapping a few phrases before they moved out of his way, him pulling back up to her bed.

Rose reached for his hand, gritting her teeth again. She felt so weak....

Caden shifted in the chair beside Rose’s bed, his posture still rigid but his gaze softening as she reached out for his hand. He caught her fragile fingers gently, feeling the coolness of her skin against his warm, calloused palms. His throat tightened, but he swallowed hard, forcing the lump away. “Rose,” his voice cracked, raw and low, a sound he hadn’t heard come from himself in years. He didn’t know if it was the exhaustion, the fear, or the sheer helplessness, but it came out in a way that made his chest ache. “I can’t... I can’t lose you.” He leaned forward, squeezing her hand a little tighter, the weight of her fragile touch sending a surge of protectiveness through him. His ice-blue eyes traced the pale lines of her face, the exhaustion, the sickness, the way her breath was shallow but still fighting to go on. His voice broke again as he spoke, quieter this time. “I’m here, Rose. I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here, okay?” His thumb brushed against the back of her hand, as if the simple gesture could somehow reassure them both. The silence in the room stretched, but Caden couldn’t bring himself to let go. The world outside felt like a blur, but this... this moment, her hand in his, was all that mattered now. It always would be.

Family stuff, sry) Rose's body was back to normal temperature and her heart was beating strong, her breaths as well for the rest of the day. She felt weaker than usual, but she kinda had just nearly died...

no worries!) Caden was estatic she was getting back to normal, still feeling that surge of protectiveness, however it was fainter now as she came back up. "I can't wait for the day you get out of here, life will go back to normal," He paused, a giddy smile on his face as he looked back at Rose. "And i'll get to see my goddess of a wife back to normal health." Caden quickly responded, words normal paced as he spoke.
