Mari lead the boy into her room again, shutting the bathroom door behind her so that the 'blood' he was seeing couldn't come into the room. She didn't think she'd ever seen the boy like this... so fragile, so... weak. She hated it, but he needed her right then, and so she'd be there, just the way he'd be there for her when she was being weak too. When he wandered into the room and collapsed into her, she just kind of held him... her arms around his side and a hand in his hair, just trying to keep him with her, thinking about anything but what was going on in his head... she didn't really get back to sleep that night. She just held him while he slept, so that she was ready to help him if that was what he needed.

Sage only slept for a few hours or so until he woke up to find himself tangled up in the girls arms. She'd stayed in a position where she'd held his hands still...and he wasn't quite sure why until he shifted slightly and felt the all too familiar burn or cuts on his cheek and neck, and saw the small spots of blood on the sheets and their clothes. He sighed slightly and looked up at the girl dimly, eyes flat. "You should have gone back to bed," he noted quietly. "You need to sleep ...you have to work..." He trailed off again, swallowing hard when he thought about being left alone. But he couldn't expect her to just stay with him. She had things to do. She had work. She needed to get food, and go about her day happily, not stay up all night and worry about him.

Mari held onto the boy when he slept, which was for a fairly... long while. She didn't want him to wake up and freak out and for it to be her fault... because she knew it would be. He might hurt himself, or her and the baby, and while she knew it would be an accident, she couldn't let any of those things happen. When she felt him shift, she moved ever so slightly and loosened her grip a little bit. Hopefully he was feeling alright now... but the look in his eyes was telling her that he maybe wasn't feeling to great still.

"I need to look after you," she whispered to him beside resting her head in his hair. "I'll talk to the doctor and we can have him sign me off today... we can do do something nice instead, yeah? Maybe we can go for a nice walk or something... to make you feel better?" She asked quietly. "I'd rather be with you today," she then finished quietly. I'm

Sage couldn't help the relief flicker across his face when Mari said the doctor could get her to stay here with him today. He sighed and nodded, not really having the energy to do anything right about then, but he supposed going out in the sun would do him good, even if all he wanted to do was lay in the dark and sleep. He was just glad that Mari would be there with him today. "Sorry," he muttered eventually, still feeling pretty guilty about her taking off work, and staying up all night, and freaking her out...he just felt really bad about it all. This really wasn't fair to her.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before shaking his head... he didn't need to be sorry, not at all. That wasn't what she wanted... she just wanted him to feel safe with her. "It's alright," she whispered. "I just want you to feel better some how... I want you to know that you're safe here," she whispered before shaking her head. She could lose a couple hours of sleep if it was for him, and she wouldn't mind... she was used to it. And she'd rather be awake to help Sage than let him suffer alone... that could have gotten a lot worse if he hadn't stopped. She pressed a light peck to his cheek after shaking her head. "Let's get you cleaned up," she told him gently before crawling out of bed and wandering back to the bathroom to grab a small first aid kit. Just to clean some of his scratches up a little bit. She came back in after a moment or two and sat down back on the bed before going through everything and getting out a bit of cleaning alcohol and a cotton pad.

Sage blinked up at the girl and let out another tiny huff of air before giving the girl a thankful look. He tried for a small smile too, but it turned into more of a grimace so he just gave up on that and closed his eyes again, resting his head lightly on the girls shoulder. He opened his eyes and groaned when the girl got up, but he knew that he should get cleaned up ...getting an infection and getting sick now definitely wouldn't help him out. So he hauled himself up into a sitting position where he sort of perched. He felt a bit off balance, like the world was still spinning, but after a moment he settled enough to sit there quietly and watch the girl rummage about for something to clean his cuts off with. He clasped his hands in his lap and stared at them, stomach rolling with guilt. Not only had he done something he had promised not to do, he'd kept Mari up all night when both she had the baby needed her to sleep, and now she had to care for him instead of working and earning money he knew she needed.

Mari sat down next to the boy once she'd gotten everything she'd wanted out... she really just wanted to make sure he wouldn't get sick. She couldn't care for him if he got sick... she had to work, but the least she could do was stay with him for today. She gently rested a hand under his chin so that she could keep him still, and dabbed the cotton pad in the liquid. "This might sting," she warned quietly before slowly starting to clean the scratches on his cheeks up... they weren't deep, not at all, but they were enough to make him bleed, which wasn't exactly good. She cleaned him up before putting the pad in the bin and wandered back over to him to kiss his lips lightly. "Sorted," she told him before a small yawn escaped her. "Let's go talk to the doctor then we can get some food. There's a little cafe or something out in the village, we can get something nice for breakfast there if you'd like," she then added softly.

Sage sort of just stared at his hands and nodded absentmindedly when the girl warned him of the sting. It did sting, quite a bit, but other than clenching his jaw he didn't move while she cleaned him off. Sage sighed slightly and nodded when she mentioned talking to the doctor, though he had a feeling it was just another person he'd feel guilty about bothering. "I'm not really hungry," he whispered, giving the girl an apologetic glance. "If we got breakfast I think I'd probably just lose it again," he admitted quietly, going back to staring at his hands. The thought to start scratching again was rather strong, and his fingers twitched...it took all his strength to stay still. But Mari had just cleaned him off, and he didn't want to worry her anymore. The struggle was probably evident on his face...he didn't have the energy to put his usual mask of sorts on, so his emotions were all fairly clear in his expression.

Mari couldn't help the disappointed frown when he said he'd rather not go out to eat. She thought getting out and doing something nice like that would help, but if Sage didn't think so, well then that was fine, but she needed to go get some food for herself.... she was pretty much eating for two now, and she wasn't one to skip a meal if it was being offered to her. She shook her head to him when he gave her an apologetic look and patted his shoulder. "Thats... fine. But I need to eat, so are we alright to stop by the kitchen?" She asked quietly... she could see that he was struggling a little bit, so moved a little to take a hold of his hands. "Lets go see the doctor first, though... he'll probably want to talk to you anyway."

Sage looked over at the girl and nodded when she said she needed to eat. It seemed like a lot of work to get up and go to the kitchen, but he'd rather get up and go with the girl than stay here alone, he supposed. And he certainly wasn't going to say no they weren't going to go anywhere...she did need to eat. He noted that she moved to hold his hands still, and then wrinkled his nose slightly when she mentioned visiting the doctor. It just seemed like a lot of work, to go there and then go to the kitchen. But he nodded, knowing it was for the better. He leaned into the girl slightly, yawning, before sighing and making a move to get off the bed. "Let's get this over with," he hummed.
