The doctors got Rose onto a stretcher, wheeling her in as Caden followed behind. They got her set in a room to try to figure out what's wrong, some idiot nurse declining him from going in. Caden leaned into their face, voice colder then ice. "That's my fucking wife. Now move before I make you," The nurse nodded, letting him in.

Rose was hooked up to multiple monitors, her never moving and barely breathing

|
Caden just walked in and pulled a chair to the side of her bed, clasping her hand between both of his and raising it to his lips, pressing a kiss to it before simply just holding it.

Rose was out for a while, dangerously close to flatlining the whole time she lay there. days passed with no sign of her waking. A doctor walked in with a concerned yet curious look on his face. "Mr Ortiz.....we don't currently know what's wrong with her, but we're trying our best to figure it out. There's a chance it's a disease we've never seen before, and if it is....we have no idea how to help her. I'm sorry. Me or the nurses will check in regularly to keep you updated."

Caden looked up at the doctor with hopeful eyes, them dulling the second they started speaking. All he did was nod his head, flicking his gaze back to Rose and squeezing her hand once, a single tear traveling down his face.

Rose was only barely alive for another week, the doctors having no new leads. "We really don't even know if she'll live..." The doctors had said multiple times, trying to not get Caden's hopes up falsely. She lay there, pale, motionless, barely alive.

Caden eventually decided it was time. He'd been convinced by the doctors words she wouldn't make it, so one day it was time, he had tears silently coming down his face as he walked out, head down, mind spinning. Caden walked through the lobby, it silent as he went. The man got into the drivers side of the camero and was about to start when he broke down sobbing.

Rose's heart monitor got a bit stronger, little bits every hour before the doctors got curious and checked the last 3 hours. She was alive....and stronger, it seemed. The hospital called Caden's cell

Caden barely had himself together enough to answer, not even having the energy to answer it how he would. "What? She's dead? I knew it, I knew she wasn't going to. All of them said she would, but after all she didn't, if only I had brought her in faster, if only" Im gonna cut off there since he was straight rambling.

"Caden, no, no. Come to the hospital. There's something new. She's alive. She's going to survive. Hurry."
