Ryker slowly followed, opening the door. "Outside would be a good start." He teased, exiting. "Anywhere. You pick."

Abby walked outside then grabbed his hand, pulling his toward a small trail behind the house.

Ryker quickly followed so his arm didn't get pulled off again, tilting his head. "I honestly didn't know this was here. Where we going?"

"Down a trail, obviously!" She wrapped her arms around his arm and leaned her head against his shoulder. She looked up at the sky as she sun slowly rose above the tree line.

"You know what I meant." Ryker rolled his eyes with an amused snort, walking slowly as his gaze flitted up towards the sky as he watched the orange ball of fire slowly rise.

Abby looked around when a scent floated to her nose. She stopped and looked behind her to see a small pillar of smoke float up. Abby gasped and ran.

Ryker froze as a familiar scent tickled his nose, then Abby fled and he followed suit, his eyes widened with shock and slight fear. Was it the barn!?

Abby rounded the corner, fear hitting her straight in the face when she noticed half of the house was on fire. She fumbled with her pockets until she found her phone, dialing 911 and telling them that her house was on fire. "Get the horses!" She said to Ryker "just in case it spreads!" She took off toward the barn, grabbing Sun and Shadows halter and lead ropes and leading them out of the barn. Suns nostrils flared, her head and ears forward. Sun trotted along beside her, not even turning an ear toward the danger further away. Tears fell down Abby's face as she watched her side of the house burn

Ryker's took in a sharp breath and bolted towards the barn, grabbing Serpant's halter and quickly trotting the stallion out. Serpant barely even glanced at the fire, but his head was lifted and he looked uneasy at the smell of smoke. Ryker heard a loud wailing, then it was all a blur. The fire department put out the fire. They said part of the house could be salvaged. They made sure everyone was okay. Through all this he held Abby tightly, not daring to let go. They could've been in there. He could've lost her. The thought was absolutely terrifying.

Abby held on tightly to the horses, her arms wrapped around Ryker. She cried into him "what do we do?" She asked him. Then the fire chief walked up. "We saved part of it before the whole thing burned down. Looked like an electrical fire. Looks like there's one bedroom and part of the kitchen left." Abby sniffled and nodded, unable to get any words out. She gave Ryker a squeeze as the firemen drove away
