(you're all good lol) Sage had wrinkled his nose slightly when Duncan agreed, letting out a sort of heavy breath. "We'll have to be careful," he murmured, thinking. He couldn't just...stay in here forever. He'd be caught eventually. Then theyd both probably be punished for it. And what would happen when the palace was attacked again? Or if Duncan was called out to the battle field again? He wasn't sure. When he insisted he take the bed though, he shook his head. "Its your room," he argued back. "Besides, where will you sleep if theres no couch," he asked raising an eyebrow. "I would suggest sharing the bed, if it wouldn't make you uncomfortable," he added heasitantly. "That way we can compromise, at least," he added. It was big enough for them to be far enough apart for it to be fine....right?

Duncan nodded, "Yeah," he sighed. He'd talk to Malakai eventually. He was sure he'd be okay with it. Reluctant, but he'd come around pretty quickly. Malakai had his fair share of difficult relationships with people from the enemies side. They used to be enemies with the Day Kingdom, and here they were with the Day Kingdom Princess as their Queen. Duncan nodded, "I mean, thats fine with me, if you're okay with that too," he shrugged.

Axel just nodded, feeling tired now that he was comfortable. Safe, too, he supposed....but whatever the reason, he could feel himself crashing. So he just grunted in agreement to sharing the bed, nodding his approval. "It's bigger than the bunks we shared back in Winter," he noted, sort of crawling over into the side closest to the wall as flopping over with a heavy sigh. He did hope everything worked out....he knew mixes were known to be dangerous, and a soldier in an elite army force of an enemy kingdom was a lot different than a princess.... especially when he'd been captured in battle. He was too tired to think about it now though, and while he knew they should probably talk about what their plan was for if someone came to Duncan's room, he found his eyes fluttering shut again despite his attempts to stay awake.

Duncan noticed his eyes fluttering closed. "Rest, you need it to heal," he hummed lightly, moving to continue to unpack his things from the boxes. "No one will come in for a while, we'll be fine,"

Axel had managed to grunt in response to his comment, not entirely there by then. But if Duncan didn't think anyone would be coming for a while....well he may as well get some rest while he could. So, he let himself drift off. It didn't take him long to fall into a very deep sleep, and when he woke again his hair was nearly dry, which meant it had been at least a couple of hours. He sat up with a soft groan, running a hand through his hair to get it out of his face and tame it slightly, since it had still been down when he'd fallen asleep and was definitely messy.

Duncan had unpacked a few boxes before he grew tired, and had curled up next to Axel, but giving him space. He'd fallen asleep while Axel was out, lying on his stomach, one wing, the one closer to Axel, tucked in, the other splayed out and drooping off the bed.

Axel had taken a few moments to remember exactly where he was, but when he saw the boy sprawled on the bed next to him, he felt a faint smile form on his face. It was peaceful here.... something he wasn't sure he'd ever really had before. Sure, he could be caught at any point in time, but things were quiet, at least in this little room. He moved to just roll over slightly to peer out the window as he lay there, drinking in the way the sunlight filtered in, warming his skin. The way he could see the mountains far down the horizon - the mountains he was so used to. Things had just slowed down, in a way, and he was finding that he rather liked it.

Duncan slept peacefully next to Axel, his wings twitching slightly every now and then as he dreamed. The sun was setting softly over the horizon, coloring the room bright pinks and oranges.

Axel was content to watch the sunset....normally he didn't get a chance to do things like that, since he was on a mission somewhere or in a bunker getting ready for bed since he was normally up early. He'd have preferred to sleep on and stay up later, but that wasn't an option. Now, it was, he supposed. He watched the sun sink lower and lower until it had disappeared and the stars were shining. He peered at those for a few minutes before laying back down, tired again. He didn't remember drifting off again, but he woke up the next morning...so he had to have fallen asleep somewhat quickly.

Duncan had slept in later than Axel, but woke a little later. He yawned, sitting up and stretching. He glanced over his shoulder at Axel, finding him away. "Goodmorning," he mumbled sleepily. He then turned to collect his clothes and then disappeared into the bathroom. He did his morning routine, showering, brushing his teeth, shaving, and getting dressed before he reappeared out of the bathroom.
