Rowan almost jumped when he felt the arm grab his bicep which had slowly started to lose the 'show off' muscle he liked to call it, the muscles there turning more for hard farm work instead of military and showing work. He let out a hum of acknowledgment to her apology, glancing at her only once with a distant yet not hostile gaze. "Maybe," He spoke softly, dragging out his words for a dramatic effect, yet he never continued his speech. He took in a deep breath, eyes scanning her expression in that singular glance, as he tried to think of a response. "You look at me as if I'm hot," He accused with a small frown. "Like you and I are kids in high school, I'm not hot, or anything..," He breathed out softly, slowly pulling his arm away.

"Um, then you don't see yourself very clearly." She muttered, walking back into the barn.

Rowan's brows furrowed as he watched her walk away. He shrugged to himself and continued for his cabin, not caring as the bitter, icy wind nipped at his skin. He ignored the cold like usual and entered his cabin. He closed the door behind him, but he forgot to lock the door before heading to bed, not even cooking for himself or changing.

Emma watched as Rowan walked off, dissapointed she had let her attraction take over her actions. Idiot! She thought to herself, spinning on her heel and walking to her cabin. She heard Rowan climb into his bed and smiled. She quickly dropped her smile, noticeing herself having this reaction.

Rowan awoke slowly, a long, almost painfully long, and wide yawn leaving his lips as he rolled over with a soft groan, his stomach rising and falling as he tried to urge his body to move. With a loud crackle pop of his joints, he slowly put his feet onto the ground of the cabin, His mind raced for a moment, not realizing he was where he was supposed to be, for a long few heartbeats he stared at the 'unfamiliar' things in the cabin, it wasn't the base, wasn't a tent or safe house. So where was he?

He slowly dragged himself upright, changing before heading out into the bitterly cold, nippy air. That woke him up fully, reason finally filling his mind, along with the hazy memories that seemed to grow legs and walk away when he awoke. He wheezed as he entered the barn, the cold air had almost completely taken the breath from him. He walked down the aisle, getting Dyna 2 flakes of hay which she eagerly nickered to his presence. He gave her a slight smile as he put the hay into her stall, watching her rip big chunks of the Tymothy. He closed his eyes momentarily, taking in the musty yet familiar scent of the barn and horses. Enjoying the moment while it lasted.

Emma woke up the next morning with a sore ankle. "Shit." She said, putting icy-hot on it and popping on a pair of work jeans and a t-shirt. She liked working in the cold morning, but grabbed a sweatshirt just in case. She put on her boots and started walking to the barn. Emma walked down the barn's aisle and saw Rowan feeding his mare and waved. She was fully awake, being a morning person and also smelling the horses. She sighed, grabbing Fury her breakfast and plopping the food into their respective spots. She groomed the mare, hoping Rowan would come talk to her......

Rowan huffed to himself, gaze still on Dyna, but he saw movement out of the corner of his eye and spooked momentarily, jumping slightly. But he saw it was only Emma, he couldn't tell if she was flagging him down or waving, so he took the safe approach and approached her."Did you flag me down?" He asked with a tilt of his head, gaze narrowing slightly.

"No. Just greeted you, if that's alright?" She asked with a smile. "Your mare was amazingly nimble on the trail ride and working the cows."

Rowan took a deep inhale, he saw the sign wrong then. He deemed. Nodding along. "Usually she is nimble, at least out on a trail, definitely not in a pasture," He gave a small smile back, putting his hands back in his pockets. He couldn't help but be amazed by the woman's form in front of him and how she moved. He was never one for puppy love, never really fell in love, his last relationship being with his damned commander! He could remember everything, the way the man's jeans hung on his hips, the way- He quickly shut down those thoughts.
