Sage listened to the conversations occasionally swirling around the little building. They weren't very exciting.....half of the people there could barely speak English. He just propped himself up at his tiny little desk, just working on paperwork after a bit. There wasn't much else to do, and if he didn't have to pose as a cop he most certainly would not be here. He'd be far, far away from her E

Alleyah sighed, dragging her finger along the floor. A little bit of dust rubbed off on her finger but nothing she could use to draw with. Dale looked over at her. "Still trying to draw?" he asked. Ally gave a sad nod of her head. "Yeah..."

Sage heard the conversation clearly, since the girl and her friend were somewhat close to where his desk was. And his hearing was pretty good, so there was that too. He made a mental note to slip her something to draw with later.....he could steal chalk from the front room easily enough, and slip it into her cell next time he unlocked her door. He had to wait for his shift to be over though....and that was around 6am the next morning. He'd gotten stuck with the overnigh shift in the worst building, with some of the worst criminals, including those on death row who'd he'd wind up killing at some point. Even cops were biased, and since he didn't look like a cop, they just stuck him where they didn't need to see him or talk to him. But they could stick him in danger the moment soemthing happened...oh yes, that seemed fair.

Alleyah stood from the floor and walked over to the bed, laying down with a grunt. The bed creaked with the pressure and someone further down the hall shushed her. I was then that she noticed most everyone was asleep. She slowly pushed herself onto her feet again and walked over to the cell bars, peering into the cell across from her. Dale seemed to be asleep and so did Grant so she was all alone. She noticed the office and wondered if the officer was still in there. "Psst" she whispered quietly

Sage had settled in, shifting in his chair here and there since sitting for so long was really, really uncomfortable. He couldn't exactly just get up and walk around though...there wasn't space, and by now most of the prisoners were asleep. In all hoensty, he was glad for the silence. It meant he could relax a little bit. Though, he cocked his head slightly when he heard the girl whisper, and shook his head, slightly amused at how she could go from chatty to rather cold towards him, and was now chatty again. He didn't understand it. But, he moved towards her cell so as not to talk too loudly and wake the other prisoners around them. "what," he asked in a quiet tone,, tugging a strand of hair over his earrigns when they caught the moonlight and flashed a beam of light at the wall. he figured no one would want that in their face while tryign to sleep.

"How'd you become a cop?" She whispered, leaning against the bars that separated her and the man infront of her. Ally was waide awake and in need of some communication to hopefully be boring enough to lull her to sleep. She eyed him as he adjusted his hair, her gaze lingering on his ear before settling back on his face. The toe of her shoe dug into the thin layer of grime covering the floor

Sage sort of chuckled with a shrug. "I was in the marines for a while. Wound up getting hit and sent home, and this was the closest thing I could find to what I'd been doign for half my life," he noted. Then he wrinkled his nose slightly. "Although I'm not sure if I appreciate assignments like this or if I'd rather be facing guns again," he admitted. Both was nice he supposed....part of him needed to be out there, in the action. An adrenaline junky, if you will. That was certainly one way of describing him. Of course, it wasn't really as a cop but whatever. But he also had flashbacks after those missions, and part of him appreciated just being able to relax. Well..as much as he could. Whatever.

"wow you open up quick, don't you" she shook her head, thinking back to the previous officers. "every other officer either threatened to slap you if you spoke or would not speak more then just yes, no, and shut up. " Alleyah rolled her eyes turning ans leanng back on the brick wall

Sage sort of shrugged in response to her comment. "Way I see it, it doesn't matter if you know I was in the military or not," he pointed out. "Doesn't change our situation much." Whether she knew he was a soldier in a war or not Wasn't going to change anything....it wasnt exactly a secret. She could've figured that out herself sooner or later anyway, given that he always wore his dog tags anyway."they're all fat old grumpy men," he grumbled. "Not very nice to anyone but their donuts." Alleyah nodded slowly at his comment. "True. I'm still stuck in here and you still have more freedom than me." She slumped down to the ground and leaned her head back against the wall. She giggled quietly "I haven't had a donut in years" she shook her head, licking her dry lips at the thought. Dale shifted on his bed, making a squeak that made Alleyah tense up. She leaned forward to peer into his cell then let out a relieved breath when he hadn't woken up, her body relaxing a little.
