He rolled his eyes and picked her hooves. Quiet as ever, he left her to sleep. He came to the stallion it looked like mutual respect between the two and a little bit like old friends. A little bit of leaning and pushing as Pierce combed through his dark grey mane.

Xaden gave his friendly mare a last pat and then walked off to grab a set of grooming supplies and walk back to the other mare. He set about currying her coat out thoroughly, then went through the motions in a pleased way. Mundane work like this could be boring, but it was soothing, too, in a way.

Pierce wasn't as envigorated to work like the kid was. At least he was having fun. Or whatever that was. He just groomed them, ignoring the kid and finishing somewhat fast with Locet. He put the brush he was using back and strolled around, getting everyone hay. Then he was done with the horses for the night. He crossed his arms and watched Xae. "Do you have a place you are staying?" He asked, wondering if the kid was intending to bunk here.

Xae finished up with his mare and planted a kiss on her muzzle, holding his palm out for the horse snuffle. He pulled back at Pierce's question, setting his hands on his hips and glancing around as he studied the barn. "Probably there." He nodded, pointing to the hayloft.

The man made a face. The kid was just throwing himself into Pierce's life. He tapped his fingers. "Hope you got blankets." He murmured after a moment. Rocking off of the wall, that was about the only question he could think of. He walked out of the barn and toward the barn.

"Nope!" Xaden answered cheerily, walking into Locets stall and promptly sitting on the floor in the clean shavings. The gelding didn't seem to mind, meandering over to him and dipping his head to snuffle curiously at the new arrival. Xaden simply pet his newest friend with a grin, watched as the horse breathed out a soft chortle and laid down, head flopped in Xaden's lap.

Since it was late, Pierson really just went to bed. He didn't offer any food to the kid, but decided he probably should tomorrow if he hadn't fed himself already. The mare was pretty much due, so he wouldn't have to be sitting out there all night anymore. He was basically rolling around in bed being angry that he should have some help.

Xaden simply settled in to sleep with his equine companion, gently cuddling the large beast, laying halfway prone on the floor as he faded off to sleep. He had been hungrier and slept in worse, dirtier places with more deplorable company. Overall; for him, it was pretty damned good.

The sun was trying to rise over the valley walls, and the light was headed straight through the cracked barn doors- which were soon wedged open and letting a breeze wisk in with hardly any sound. The man walked in, peering into the stalls, til he found Xaden, still with the stallion. The light pooring in was quite bright and started waking the horses. A smell parting through the horses. The delicious smell of breakfast. Pierce didn't stick around, just left it on the barn floor. On a plate on the floor but on the floor. He was of course eating his own breakfast too.

Xaden, being the dead sleeper he was, wasn't bothered by the early sun rays. He continued sleeping peacefully, until soft footsteps woke him from his daze. He blinked groggily and swiped at his eyes, stirring at the smell of food. He gently slid out from beneath the stallions head, standing up quietly and glanced over the stall door to find food waiting for him. He grinned and vaulted the door, picking up the food and giving it a tentative sniff. No poison, as far as he could tell. He shrugged and started eating with his hands, sitting down on the floor like a child.
