Mari shook her head when the boy apologised and dropped his head on her shoulder... there was no need for it. She'd do anything for him... he'd already done so much for her, and she felt alright at the moment... so she might as well give him a little something back. She reached to turn the water up just a tiny bit so that it was nicer on his back rather than the pretty cool water that was already running before kissing the side of his neck and ruffling her hair for a moment. She soon enough started to work on some knots on his upper back, by his shoulders... if it made him feel a little bit better, then there was no reason for her to stop. In a little bit, they could go back to her bed and sit behind him for a while, so she could actually work some of these knots out... her head did hurt, but it wasn't like she was going to get to sleep any time soon... and it would be nice for Sage after everything he'd done for her today alone if he liked it.

Sage couldn't help the tiny squeak that came from his mouth when the girl reached for his shoulder muscles and had to press his hands against the wall of the shower. God, it all felt so good....he knew he shouldn't be asking this of the girl but she didn't seem to mind....so he didn't exactly make a move of protest. Rather, he pressed himself closer to the girl, trying to control his breathing. It just felt so nice, and he was so tired.

Mari jumped a bit at the boy's squeak... she wasn't doing much, but she supposed if you were tired and in pain, you'd be sensitive to pretty much anything. She leaned away from him a tiny bit when he leaned forwards, but kept going the way she was. He had done a lot for her, so she'd do this for as long as he wanted. She just wanted to make him feel a bit better... he was stressing himself out by looking after her... and she wanted to look after him in return... that was all she could do. It had been weeks, but she felt like since she'd gotten sick she'd barely paid him any attention when she'd first gotten sick... so little attention that she was only just starting to notice how worn he was. She wanted to make up for all of that... she really just felt awful for it.

Sage sort of just rested his head against the girls shoulder after a while, giving up any thoughts of protesting the action. He did feel slightly guilty about making the girl work, but it did feel amazing. After a while, though, the water started to get colder and he raised his head tiredly, stifling a yawn. "Can we go to the bed," he hummed. He didn't want her to stop rubbing, but he wanted to lay down...standing up was getting rather tiring....and he suspected the girl would get tired too, after so long.

Mari hummed softly to the boy with a bit of a yawn. The hot water seemed to be running out now, but she felt a little bit better now that they'd cleaned up a bit. She was a bit weary, though nowhere near as tired as Sage seemed. He was practically falling asleep with his head on their shoulder. He had his hands on the wall, though, where he had her between them stuck where she was. "Let me out then," she told him softly before turning off the shower. She leaned forwards to kiss the boy on the forehead before ducking out from his half-pin and wrapping herself up in a towel. She grabbed a bigger one for Sage and wrapped it around his shoulders. She was kind of tired too... but she could sit with Sage for however long he needed. They got changed into some comfortable clothes before making their way towards her bed. She sat down with her legs spread out and patted the space between for him to come and sit. He could lean against her if he was still wanting her shoulder massage... to be honest, she quite enjoyed giving him the attention he deserved... just spending time with him was nice.

Sage chuckled lightly at the girl's response and allowed her to slip out from underneath him and dry herself off. He accepted her towel happily, and got dressed quickly. He didn't argue when the girl patted the bed near her, he just sort of....flopped down face first onto the bed. She could do what she wanted, but right now, his brain was too foggy to think about ...well, anything really. And he certainly didn't have the energy to argue. If she needed to stop, she'd stop.

Mari got comfortable with the boy and half wrapped her arms around his side. He seemed to be exhausted... he could sleep, and she could do this for as long as he stayed awake. Her hands gently started rubbing his shoulders where he lay, and a little bit further down his back... just working a couple of knots out... she had time, and to be honest she just liked fussing over the boy. He couldn't constantly run around after her, so to be honest, she was happy to sit with him. He seemed to be asleep pretty quickly, though she kept on working his shoulders for a little while longer.

Sage was dimly aware of the girl working out all the knots and kinks in his back, and it really did feel so, so nice. He would have thanked the girl, but all he could manage to get out was a tired him. He tried to stay awake for a while, and feel it all, but eventually he did fall asleep. It was nice, he supposed, to fall asleep to something like Mari rubbing his shoulders, caring for him like really no one else had before. He slept for the rest of the night, and slept well...Mari would have the next day off of the ward, since the queen was coming back and may need her. He woke up later in the morning...closer to noon, really, but he felt infinitely better. His shoulders were looser than they'd been in a while, and he wasn't utterly exhausted.

Mari kept on going for a little bit longer once he'd fallen asleep... not too long, just enough to make sure he was actually asleep. She was exhausted anyway... but being able to care for someone was nice. She woke up early, like she always did recently... but for the first time in a good few weeks, she didn't feel the need to rush off to the bathroom. She just felt... comfortable. She couldn't help the slight smile that crossed her face, hoping to at least be getting a little bit used to... well, pregnancy. The start was the hardest bit... or, that was what her mother told her. She just curled into Sage a bit more, burying her nose into his neck the way she always did. The queen was likely to be back that day... and she had to admit she was a little bit excited to talk to her. She knew a lot of people didn't like the woman, but she had always been kind to Mari, so she didn't really care. Plus, she much preferred her work with the queen than in the ward... it was just a bit easier with her. Mari and Att would be back soon, too, and she was excited to see the little boy again - she didn't too much time with him, but she often looked after him when he was meant to be with the queen, and he was a nice kid.

Sage stayed asleep for quite some time after the girl, though he eventually stirred and nuzzled up into the girl's warmth and scent when he realized she was still there in bed with him. "You're still in bed," he hummed, his voice still slurred and half asleep but obviously very happy all the same. He usually woke up to find the girl puking her guts out, so this was a nice change.
