"Yup, they can't do nothing so... what is there to fear?" Gale said casually, pulling her to him.

She smiled softly and pecked his lips. "Your name was cleared, so technically they have no means to arrest you. Let's go make a fool of my brother"

|
"Might as well keep you close so we can just infuriate him even more," He laughed, looping his arm around her waist.

"I'm not complaining" she said with a small smile, walking out of the room and toward the dining hall. The guards next to the doors gave her a bewildered look but she just glared as they opened the doors for the two of them. Her brother's head snapped up at the sound and his eyes narrowed to slits. "Careful of your words" she said, calling for a scribe to write down the conversation. "Keep a very, very, accurate depiction if this"

"So we meet again," Gale murmured, hand hovering over his dagger as he glared at the man.

Kayla's brother turned to her with outrage. "You bring this... Fugitive into my court and demand to have me listen?!" He bellowed. "Yes and he's not a fugitive. As the first heiress, I have control of this province" she said calmly, glancing at the scribe whom was writing as fast as his hands could fly and the pen could drip ink. Turning back to her brother, she called in guards who ignored Gale and looked at the king. Kayla opened the Valerian laws book and showed him. "This says I should have been crowned as soon as father died." She said with a smirk. "Take off the crown. You're under arrest for theft of the first degree--my kingdom" she stated, the guards taking the crown and shackling her brother. She didn't bat an eye as he was let, bellowing and protesting, out of the room. A maid walked in with her new crown, holding it out to her. She placed it on her head with a smile, a weight lifted off her chest. "All camps within a ten mile radius are to have their crimes erased unless they caused me harm. Or him " she said, taking Gale's hand as another guard nodded and turned, going to tell the others. Kayla sat on a chair with a sigh, summoning a maid. "This man is to have the respect you would give me. Understand? That includes giving him a fresh wardrobe and whatever food he wants and if he needs something, that moves to top priority --above my own even" she instructed, the maid nodding and the chefs bringing in dinner. She thanked them

"No no, I assure you I do not need to be put so high. Keep her priorities above mine, after all, she's the crown jewel." He mused, watching as the staff came and bowed before her. Gale chuckled, doing so as well.

"massive change of pace..." She mused, pausing before eating. "Scribe, come here and eat a bite before me" she instructed, the scribe complying and not falling over dead. Kayla sighed with relief before eating

"Very much," Gale called, chuckling at her actions. "Damn how long do we have to stay like this?" He asked, having never had to.

"you can do whatever you want but I need to rule at least until an heir can take over" she sighed
