Quinn looked at him. "I promise, you really don't want to know. Our conversation will be ended like THAT. We will both be very embarrassed, and we will probably not talk until the morning. Sound fun? I'm just predicting what might happen... I'm sure I'd be more unhappy than you would." Quinn explained, standing to wipe the Dock off yet again... because her head had started to go numb. Stupid time sensitive herb.... she walked over to get some water, just drinking that with no herbs, then walking back and sitting near Sage. She peered up at the sky. "It's... 7 o'clock." She said slowly. "If I'm reading the sun correctly." Quinn added, glancing at her horse as Sahara started laughing. "She's laughing because I won't tell you what she said." Quinn muttered, laying back and clasping her hands under her head.

Sage raised his eyebrows and shook his head. "Really ? It's that bad," he asked, finding it rather amusing. "I am curious," he admitted. "Though if you say that'll happen I'll just have to believe you." He turned to look at the horse....well, if he could open his eyes he could see her. "You are a mini devil," he hummed in an amused tone, not meaning any bad feelings towards the mare. He was more amused than anything.

Quinn sighed. "It's that bad." She said quietly, chuckling at his look. Sahara nickered, half laughing. "Don't be curious. You really will not like what she said.. so believe me." Quinn said drily, getting up and starting to get stuff ready for the night. She might not have told Sage the whole story,.. and was very, very hopeful something didn't happen while they were sleeping. She knew she had to tell him.. both things. "Okay, well... you know how I can hear what animals are thinking? Well if someone is touching me.. they can kind of hear my thoughts... sometimes... and only when I am concentrating on those thoughts or feeling strong emotions towards those thoughts. I know it sounds weird... but my brain is weird. Anyway, I'm sure that tonight is going to be cold, and I'm sure I'm going to be worrying strongly about what Sahara said... so I mineswell just tell you. She was teasing us about how we got married... but never did the thing. I know.. it's terribly rude and I am probably the only one that's embarrassed because you don't seem to get embarrassed but still..." Quinn trailed off, blushing. She was kind of just blabbering on and on, trying to ... take his mind off what she actually said. Sahara looked at her... almost guiltily

Sage shrugged when Quinn said it was that bad, sort of trusting the girl. He was curious, yes, but if she wasn't comfortable telling him what the are had said, then he wasn't going to pry. He cocked his head slightly when she mentioned that someone touching her may be able to hear her thoughts. His eyebrows shot up when she mentioned what Sahara had said....and he certainly hadn't expected that from the horse. He couldn't help but snicker at the whole situation, and he covered his mouth with his fist. "Sorry but....I can hear the embarrassment from here," he noted with amusement. "And...well...I can smell emotions, so I could tell if you wanted...that...anyway, probably," he hummed, a blush starting to form on his face the more he thought about it. "My only question is...Sahara, horses don't get married....so is it like the same...er...intimacy or..." He sort of trailed off, not really knowing where he was going with the question. Then he turned his head in Quinn's direction and wrinkled his nose. "I just realized you'd have to translate her answer....you don't have to if you don't want to," he chuckled.

Quinn snorted at the slightly confused look on his face. No. Snickering." She said sternly, casting a glare over at Sahara. Quinn listened to Sage's... stammering. "Yeah thanks" she said drily, rolling her eyes. She pursed her lips at his blush, narrowing her eyes. "Told you so." She muttered, looking up at the sky... then back at Sahara. Sahara nickered something, then snorted. Quinn cleared her throat. "Sahara said that horses DO get mates, and she is slightly offended by what's you said. She also said horses have a very complicated relationship like humans do." She explained, making a face. Sahara then whinnied. "Oh.. she also adds that you need to learn more about animals if you want to be around me." Quinn tried to hold it back... but failed miserably. She burst out laughing, her eyes twinkling. "She has a point..." Quinn said quietly, a smile on her face.

Sage couldn't help the chuckle that burst forth at Quinn's stern comment about no snickering. Then he wrinkled his nose...in all reality, he could get quite flustered quite easily....he was just good at hiding it. Or, there just wasn't much to have been embarrassed or flustered about until now. He raised an eyebrow at Sahara's responses and shrugged. "Well, sorry," he hummed. "But how am I supposed to know much about them when I can't speak to them," he half grumbled. "Like...I love chaos, and I can tell when he's about to take off running or bucking, but I don't know who he wants to f- uhhh, yeah," he trailed off, face flaming by now.

Quinn listened to what he had to say... then made a face. "Wrong choice of wording." She mumbled, looking at Sahara... who at this point, looked very sorry she had ever brought up the matter. Sahara walked over to Quinn and nickered, putting her head in Quinn's lap. "Well... Sahara is giving me a nice array of choice words to say back..." Quinn said Wrinkling her nose. She looked slightly surprised, glancing at Sahara. "Okay I see horses know a lot but THAT? Really?" She muttered... now talking to the horse. Quinn turned her attention back to Sage, crossing her arms. "Horses can speak to everyone... if they will just listen. Body language. Anyone can read body language, they do It with humans all the time. See... Sahara his flicking her ears, she is relaxed, a back hoof is propped... she thinks I am saying the right thing. She is comfortable and relaxed. Get it?" Quinn asked Sage, trying to take her mind off of what he 'almost' said.

Sage wrinkled his nose slightly at her first comment and hummed in agreement. Chaos seemed to look relieved that he hadn't finished that sentence and wandered over to the group as well. Sage chuckled when Sahara gave Quinn those choice words to say back and nodded. "I probably deserved that," he admitted rather sheepishly. He rolled his eyes inwardly and nodded. "I can read my horse's body language, but actually speaking to them would help a few things, I would think," he huffed, though there were no negative emotions in his voice. Then he gave the girl a grin. "And no, I can't see...you put stinky cactus juice on my eyeballs," he snickered. Edited at April 17, 2023 09:41 AM by NightClan

Quinn snorted, "Every word she said was true.. I'm just not going to say them aloud. So... you did deserve it." She snickered, looking at Chaos. "By the way.. Chaos asked why you had to bring him into the conversation. He also thanked you for not finishing the sentence." Quinn said, squinting at Chaos, her eyes sparkling as she looked back at Sage. "Well if you want the cactus juice off, you can take it off now. Walla. Your vision has improved." She said sarcastically, waiting for him to smear it off while she looked at the stream.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "I'm not going to argue with that," he chirped before grunting and nodding. "Chaos is my best friend, which means I bring him into ALL the conversations," he crowed, rather mischievously. His eyebrows shot up when Quinn said his eyesight would be better, and he could take the cactus juice off before slowly finding his way over to the water in order to wipe it off. His vision was still bad - dim and blurry, but it was definitely better. He looked over to Chaos, who was next to him watching and grunted. "Oh, you're still ugly," he teased the horse lightly. The stallion nudged him backward into the water, which resulted in a rather high-pitched squeak coming from Sage's mouth. He splashed the water back at the horse before they both wandered back over to the others, Sage shaking himself off.
