Anya slipped down the halls, which were relatively empty. Most likely because all the servants were tending to the ball. Parties and alike had always been very tedious affairs for Anya. She was sociable enough to get along with people, but unless she wanted something, the girl never really put any effort into her interactions. She made it to their door, finding herself staring at the handle for a moment. What if the food made Sage sick? It would probably put him in agony... if he wasn't already, that is. It would be cruel to bring a plate of food in that he couldn't eat. What was on the plate was only snacks, though... nothing too heavy. Sage could try a bit, and if he wasn't interested she could give the rest to Lizzie. Anya gave a short knock, waiting for a reply before slipping through the door. A small smile lit her face up, glad to see that they were both awake now. It meant that that Sage would have some friendly company. "I brought snacks," she murmured, almost in a whisper. "I wasn't sure if you'd be able to eat much, so Is all pretty light." She shrugged, offering a slightly fuller plate to Lizzie before letting her gaze fall in Sage, her brows slightly furrowed as she settled herself on the floor, leaning against his bed frame before handing him a small plate. "Just eat what you can." She murmured quietly.

Sage nodded and pointed to the table by the bed. "Just put them down. I'll eat if I feel like it. " He looked over at Lizzie and pointed to the food. "You eat something too though," he muttered. Lizzie frownedat him. "You need to eat too." Sage shook his head stubbornly. "Not hungry," he muttered. Lizzie scowled. "Eat something." Sage groaned and grabbed a grape and popped it in his mouth. "There I ate," he grumbled. He really wasn't hungry, his stomach was definitely not happy. (It's a bit short I'm out today lol)

The girl rested her head on her knees, grateful to be out of the loud chitter chatter of the ball room. She wasn't being watched anymore... it was a nice little break. It gave her time to think a little, atleast. Sage was in so much pain, and there wasn't very much she could do about it. They wouldn't be able to stay too long either... maybe a weeks, tops. Then she didn't know what they would do after that. Sage had to work, and while Anya could still leave them money, they might not be as well off if Sage couldn't work during the day. Anya was more than happy to bring them food and give them a little extra, but Sage didn't seem the type to want her charity.

Sage stared at the ceiling, bored, while Lizzie ate. He was tired, of course, but didn't want to sleep. Besides, he doubted he could fall asleep even if he wanted to. Breathing was hard, and everything hurt and he wanted to sleep but also wanted to get up and do something. It was all confusing and annoying...he wished he could do something about his dad but he never seemed to be able to fight back in the moments he needed to.

The girl turned her head to look at the two for a moment. She had really never been more useless. She supposed she could go and get something from the doctor to sooth Sages pain a little, but that wasn't likely to happen until the next day. The girl gave a small smile, happy that he had at least tried to eat something. He was fidgity... she could see that, but she didn't want him to strain herself. She wanted to talk to him, occupy him, but it sounded like it hurt to speak. The girl took a short breath before looking to Sage. "The doctor said you should feel a little better in a week or so." She murmured, attempting to fill a moment of silence. "You'll still need to take it easy, though. Just a few minutes on your feet a day, when you're ready." She noted in a half whisper.

Sage scrunched his face up. "I'm not used to sitting around being useless," he admitted in a quiet mutter. "Besides, a few minutes a day isn't gonna cut it. I have to work. I'll have to deal with it." He thought for a moment and then looked over at Anya and waved her over. "help me up. I'm bored." It may not be the best idea but hey, he needed to move and try to do something. Sitting up seemed a huge task right about them, so if he could be stubborn about something he would do it

The girl tilted her head at Sage for a moment, raising a brow. She really should have been back to the party by now, but really... who would notice if she was gone for a little while longer? It wasn't like she was in a rush to get back, and she much preferred being with Sage and Lizzie anyway. Then again, it would put him in a world of pain. "Are you sure?" She murmured, going towards the side of his bed. "I know you're bored, but this is going to hurt." Anya gave a small chuckle, though it wasn't exactly funny. It was just amusing that he would rather hurt himself than stay put. Saying that, if it was what Sage wanted, she would help him the best she could.

Sage snorted and then scrunched his face up slightly. "It already hurts like hell," he pointed out. "So really it doesn't matter." He reached over and grabbed her arm and yanked himself up into a sitting position. He squeaked and grit his teeth as he rose, his face paling slightly and turning almost a green color. He put a hand to his side once he was up, letting go of Anya. "See, no problem," he wheezed. It was a bit sad ... Just sitting up had gotten him worked up into a sweat, and he was already trembling with exhaustion.

Anya was a little shocked when he grabbed her arm, but she slipped a hand behind the base of his neck to support him a little once he was up. The boy looked like death itself, which brought on the worry that he would black out again or be sick. She could feel him trembling, which didn't help the matter. "Sage..." Anya started, trying to meet his gaze, though his moving about didn't make it easy. "Its hard to see you like this. You don't need to push yourself, you know." She breathed for a moment, perching on the side of his bed. While it would be nice for her to admire his determination, she couldn't help but to pity the boy. He needed to know that she cared about him enough to manage things, without seeing him as a burden, but it seemed like he was so used to having people diss him to let himself relax. "You don't need to worry about getting back to work. I can keep on getting you food and money for however long you need." Anya promised quietly, glancing at the floor with a quiet sigh.

Sage looked over at Anya and sighed. "I know, I know, but I can't help worrying about work. And while Im glad to have you supporting us, I don't want to mooch off of you either," he muttered, his breathing still hitching as he spoke. Maybe his lungs were worse off than anyone had realized. Oh well, he was up. It was something at least. Although he wasn't sure he would have actually stayed up if Anya hadn't been supporting him...he was already leaning on her for support a bit. He'd be fine soon, at least that's what the doctor had said. He hoped it was true...he couldn't imagine being like this for much longer. He was really exhausted now, and his breathing had only sped up and become harsher. He could hear a slight rattle in his chest, and hoped Anya couldn't...her and Lizzie were already worried enough. It should heal, in time, although to him it only seemed like it was getting worse. His lungs felt heavy, and drawing a full breath was getting harder and harder.
