Mari smiled slightly to the boy when he rested his head on her shoulder. Her face was still bright red, and her chest was still rising and falling heavily with every breath. She grinned when he laced her fingers with hers, and gave him a gentle squeeze. She was happy, very happy... but there was still a bit of a lump in her throat, and she couldn't quite explain it. It was like she was happy... but she also felt like she was betraying someone, somehow. She looked to the boy and kind of chuckled softly before wrapping her free hand around him... she was trying not to think of what was uppsetting her... she just wanted to enjoy the time left with him before they decided to leave.

Sage grinned a bit wider when the girl wrapped her arms around him, and shifted slightly so they were sort of wrapped up together, in a comfortable way. He didn't know what the future would hold for them, and he was honestly still a bit nervous that the girl would come to realize he wasn't what she thought he was. Anya had learned to not love him....would the same thing happen with Mari? Would she keep comparing him to this other love she'd had, like a horse or other kind of pet or animal? He sort of pushed those thoughts from his mind, wanting to be happy tonight. "We'll have to get going soon," he whispered, not wanting to disturb the silence that was floating around them lightly. He wanted to stay with the girl...but they couldn't sleep out here, it would probably get chilly. Of course, they could stay in the same room if they wanted, but he wasn't sure if that's what Mari would want. Well, she could bring him to her room, or stay with him, but that would have to be her choice.

Mari gave a bit of a groan when he said they needed to get going, and kind of just curled into him more... she didn't want to leave. It was dark now, and it was getting cold, so they would have to... but this was nice. Just sitting here with him, it really was nice. She wasn't sure what would happen next... if she'd go back with him or if they'd just go back to their rooms, but she didn't care. She was just happy with him now... she wasn't really trying to think about later. She was wondering how this had happened... but she was happy that it had. It was just kisses... but they'd left her lips tingling and her heart thumping. Really, even at the thought of it made her heart thud. "I suppose so," she finally whispered to the boy, resting her chin lightly on his head.

Sage chuckled slightly in response to the girls groan, knowing exactly how she felt. He hummed in agreement with her comment, though he made no move to get up at the time. They lay there for a while until he could no longer ignore the cold...the low v neck of his tunic made for a rather cool shirt, and he was getting cold, even with the girl curled up with him. He sighed and patted the girls side with his free hand lightly, groaning and muttering "we should get going now," with a yawn...it had gotten rather late while they were out. "We can cuddle back up in bed if you want but I wanna sleep," he chuckled lightly, releasing the girl and sitting up. It was colder than he'd realized...they should definitely go get warm somewhere. They could go to either room...he just wanted to get amber if they went to the girls room. He was worried about leaving the kitten alone for so long.

Mari watched the boy sit up and gave a bit of a pout. "Fine..." She wasn't exactly warm... but it was even colder now that she wasn't curled up with him. She huffed when he said they could cuddle back up in bed and rolled her eyes, though there was a bit of amusement in her voice... and almost exitement, too. "I suppose that's acceptable," she huffed, though her voice was a little bit tired... and really, she did want to curl up in a nice warm bed for a little while, especially if it was with Sage. She stretched a little bit before sitting up and giving a bit of a smile

Sage chuckled slightly at the girl's huff and stood up reaching his hands out to help her up. "Come on," he hummed lightly. "I can clean all this up tomorrow." There wasn't food left, other than some fruit, so it would be fine to sit out here for the night. He was tired too...and Mari was clearly tired as well, so it would be good to go to bed. They were back in the castle soon, and he popped his head into his room to see Amber curled up on his pillow. She raised her head sleepily and gave him an indignant meow, as if lecturing him for staying up so late he chuckled slightly and released Mari's hand to pet the cat and peck her on the head lightly before looking back at the girl curiosly, wondering if she was staying or if she wanted to bring him to her room, or what.

Mari smiled when he offered her his hand and took it before pulling herself up. She kept her hand entwined with his once up and started back towards the castle. She'd help him clean up later the next day... it was for her, so she might as well help. She rested her head against his shoulder as they walked, a light smile still across her face. They made it back to the castle soon enough, and they made their way to the ward to see to the kitten. She was exited to see the little thing, really... and to get into bed and cuddle up, too. She smiled as the boy went to see her, and wandered over to give her a fuss... she wasn't sure if they were going to stay here of go back to hers... but she didn't really want to be alone for tonight. "Can I stay here tonight?" She asked quietly, careful not to wake the sleeping patients.

Sage hummed and nodded with a yawn in response to the girls question. "That's fine with me," he hummed. "If you prefer your bed than the ward cot we can go to your room too though," he pointed out. He was used to much worse than the cots in the ward, but she had an actual bed in her room, so if shed be more comfortable there, then he wouldn't mind going to her room, not at all. And Amber would be happy anywhere he was at, so he could scoop her up and set her up in Maris room easily....it didn't really matter. But he was really tired...and was getting more tired the more he thought about sleeping, so whatever they did or wherever they went, he wanted it to be done rather quickly so he could get to bed. He could change the next day...Mari didn't mind the more open chest, and neither did he, so it would be fine. Besides, changing seemed like a lot of work right about then.

Mari shook her head slightly... as much as she would have loved to go back to her room, it wasn't exactly a nice place... she'd tried to make it more homely over the years, but it still wasn't really the kind of place she'd want to show someone. Her own bed sounded appealing, but she still wanted Sage in the ward in case he needed something she couldn't help him out with. "I don't mind... there just not much space in mine," She murmured quietly. If he'd rather go there, she didn't mind, she kind of just wanted to get changed and into bed. "Here's good, though," she hummed. She'd do whatever, but she was going back to hers to get changed either way.

Sage shrugged and nodded in response to the girls explanation. He didn't particularly care where they went, he just wanted to cuddle up and get some sleep. He looked back down at Amber and picked her up gently, the kitten letting out a protesting mrrp before settling back down in his arms. "Sorry baby, but I need the pillow," he hummed quietly in a rather amused tone, setting the cat down again off to the side a bit so there was room for him and Mari. She could go change, or whatever, while he took meds...then they could sleep. He sat down on the bed and reached for the pills the doctor had set on the side table, popping them into his mouth. He took them dry often, since he was probably much too used to taking pills. He picked up the water bottle as a second thought though...he was a bit thirsty he supposed.
