Lorelei sighed, just comforting him and coaxing him to sleep. She was supposed to be the one who needed comforting. Everything she'd just endured was weighing her down, it was haunting her.

Kai woke a few hours later, stroking her hair. "How you feeling, baby?" He asked softly

"Fine," he muttered, eyes half-lidded, staring at nothing.

"Don't lie to me" He said softly, stroking her cheek. "It's gonna be a while before you're comfortable again with me, huh?"

Lorelei mumbled something and curled into his chest, just needing the contact of someone she trusted.

"What'd you say?" He asked softly, curious and holding her while rubbing her back

"Nevermind," she muttered against his chest.

"Baby, tell me or else I'll start to think it's worse than it actually is?"

"Nevermind. Its nothing, I'm fine," she snapped.
