Max chuckled softly "Hey I've done and am doing some pretty terrifying things for you ya know..." She teased playfully gesturing to her belly with a smirk "I appreciate you trying to get along with them... They really are nice people..." She told him kissing his cheek "Now let's dig into this chocolate cake shall we?" She smiled.

Maxine smiled and practically dove into her slice of cake... even after her breakfast. The rest of her birthday was spent with Sage curled up with him in some way shape or form relaxing and letting him spoil her.

The next month went by fairly smoothly, they'd painted the runes back up onto the wall in hopes that even with Roxie's return she couldn't get into their home... Max kept a close wary eye out at work though... she was almost scared to go but they needed the money so... she continued going in an effort to build up their money all while she was working on the patchwork pieces for the nursery... she'd made a blanket and was now working on a little rug for underneath the crib and she loved how it was coming out. Today however she was fairly fatigued when she got home and of course hungry so she got herself a meal and sat on the couch with a small exhausted huff. She made a face however when her drink tasted gross... "Ugh not another thing that I have an aversion to..." she grumbled "Sage!" she called "Can you-" she broke off dropping her drink "Sage!" she cried a major note of panic in her voice... when Sage found her her belly was at least twice the size it was moments before "W-whats happeneing!?" she cried in alarm as it only continued to grow.

"I just came home and made something to eat!" she cried taking a sharp breath as a flurry of movement in her stomach surprised her. "M-my drink tasted bad so I was going to have you try it a-and see if it was just another aversion then this happened!" she cried as her stomach grew to where she about 8 months and still growing... this was happening much too fast for her human body to handle that was for sure. Soon there was laughter just outside the apartment and the door was flung open Roxie was there but she wasn't an idiot... she didn't dare step into the apartment not that she could with those runes anyways, it soon became clear that time around them had stopped. "See? I told you you couldn't always protect her..." Roxie smirked playfully.

Roxie giggled softly "No you can't." she smirked playfully "and you can help her all you like..." she smirked "Yes there are but you can't stop what fate set in motion... I can speed it up but you can't slow it down..." she chuckled "She'll suffer sufficiently though... thats satisfying enough." she said as the door was slammed.

Max looked at him and whimpered "Its too soon..." she whined grabbing his shirt with a whimper as she brought him closer, she only let go when the couch beneath her was soaked "Oh no..." she whimpered doubling over as the flurry of movement increased as she felt her stomach squeeze around their child. Tears filled her eyes... this was it... it was happening... and it was terrifying.

Max tried desperately to take deep breaths but her heart was pounding... everything was just happening so fast her mind and her body couldn't keep up... Eventually she was in their room on their bed but nothing was happening... it was simply agony. She was convinced something was wrong... hours went by before any progress was made it didn't take long to figure out one of the issues the baby hadn't been able to turn so on top of it being in its demon form it came the wrong way. By the time she arrived Maxine was exhausted... barely able to turn her head to look at their little girl in Sage's arms. She whimpered and looked at him "Is it okay?" she whispered. The glow on the ring was faded and only growing dimmer. The baby was crying but it was like Maxine couldn't hear her. Maxine's breathing was slow as well and it was like she was fighting even for the smallest breaths.
