Sam snickered, a hint of malice in his voice. "ok, ok." he said as he held the ladybird up in the air and watched it fly away. "are you really that scared of them?" he asked, a playful smirk just flitting across his face at the thought of Ellie's high-pitched shriek of fear.

"Yes!" She replied as she watched the bug fly away, almost as though sje was expecting it to come back, but of course, it didn't. "I don't know why, I just am, so don't even bother asking." She huffed before shuffling back to her original spot.

Sam put his hands in the air in mock-retaliation. Swivelling around, he saw Nero nickerng over to Astra, both horses seemingly having a chat. "aren't they just so sweet." he observed, resuming his spot in the grass and drawing from his pocket a packet of Oreos. he took some, stuffed them in his mouth then handed the packet to Ellie.

Ellie nodded lightly before taking the packet and plucking a couple of oreos out, "they are..." she started with a light smile, "have you ever wondered what they're saying?" She questioned with a childish look upon her face. "I mean, probably just complaining about us and the fact that they want more food," she quickly added with a soft chuckle.

Sam nodded and grinned. "but not here, this meadow is so lush that by the end of the day they'll both be as round as anything." he said, chuckling at Astra enthusiastically tearing up the leafy greens underneath him.Sam put the rest of the Oreos in his bag and sighed contentedley.

"Mhm, I'm assuming that they think the grass is better here for some reason," she mocked with a light chuckle before offering the last sandwich to Sam. The day had started to get slightly warmer so she took her jumper off and placed it on the ground so that she could flop back on the grass without getting anything on herself.

"thanks." Sam said, taking the sandwich and biting into it. he untied the jumper from round his waist and did the same as Ellie, laying down and looking lazily up into the electric-blue sky, cloudless exept for some fluffy white clouds dotted around. He let out a happy and content sigh as he shut his eyes for a moment.

Ellie smiled lightly and looked up as well, but her eyes weren't looking into the blue obis of the sky; but the trees she could see through the corner of her eyes. The way they made mini mazes with the leaves on their branches fascinated her greatly. After a moment, she looked up at the sky, then tried to find shapes within the clouds. It seemed like her brain wanted to keep her from relaxing, although thats all she wanted to do right now.

Sam opened his eyes, smiling at the clouds in he sky. h picked out the shapes of an elephant and a tree in them. He remembered doing this when he was very little, his mother laughing by his side as they pointed at the odd shapes in the sky. But being with Ellie was the next best thing, he decided.

Ellie let out a quiet breath before turning to Sam, seeing the content look on his face making her smile subtly. "Are you glad that you came?" She asked before turning back to look at the sky.
