Sage lay there for as long as she ran her hands over his body, just taking it all in happily. Her touch, her warmth, the way his body reacted to her. It felt nice....and by the time she was done, he felt better than he had in years. He was still a little sore, of course, but he felt a heck of a lot better. And he hadn't really even noticed he'd been so tense. It was crazy to think about.

Once her hands slowed, stopping, he sort of rolled over so he could hum a thank you to her, yawning now that he'd laid around and gotten himself all tired again. He did feel good though ....he was getting hungry by then of course, but the back rub was definitely worth it.

Jora smiled at Sage's sleepy hum, feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over her. She loved seeing the effect she had on him - the way his body relaxed under her touch, the softness in his eyes when he gazed up at her.As he rolled over, she stretched out beside him, propping herself up on an elbow to watch him bask in bliss. "Anytime you need unwinding like that," she purred, tracing idle patterns on his chest with a finger. "Now...about that hunger. What would you like me to cook?"

Sage nodded along to her comment, knowing she liked to care for him. And he liked taht she liked it. But he did want to do something in return, of course, and he probably always would. He wrapped an arm around her loosely when she curled in next to him, humming in thought before shaking his head. "I'm afraid i don't know many meals," he admitted with a sheepish chuckle. "I've been eating ship food for the past four years," he added. And the food before that had been even worse, so he wouldn't even bring that up. "Make whatever your favorite is," he chirped after a moment. "i want to try that."

Jora smiled softly at Sage’s words, her heart warmed by his desire to give something back. She could tell he felt a little sheepish about not knowing many meals, but that only made her more fond of him. She loved that he didn’t shy away from admitting it, and the way he wrapped his arm around her felt like a gesture of trust and care, even if it was a little loose.

“Ship food, huh?” she teased gently, leaning into his side a little more. “Well, I guess I’ll have to show you the wonders of real food then, huh?” She let out a soft laugh and pressed a kiss to his cheek, her thoughts already drifting to her favorite meals. “I’ll make my favorite, but you better be ready for something that’s actually good,” she added with a wink, already feeling a flutter of excitement at the thought of sharing something she loved with him.

"You're going to love it," she murmured, almost to herself, but she meant it with all her heart. The idea of him trying her favorite food felt like a small way to show him that he mattered to her.

Sage felt a soft grin form on his face as she spoke up again, humming lightly in amusement. "I suppose you will," he missed lightly, agreeing to try it anything she'd make for him. After all these years, he really wasn't a picky eater.... He'd take anything he could get. And anything tested better than what he'd been given before.

"Good," he chirped when she said she'd make her favorite, grinning over at her happily. "Oh, I'm sure I'll be ready by the time it's done," he mused, already somewhat hungry by then. He'd smell it cooking too, and no doubt it would be delicious. And smell that way too.

"I'll be waiting, then," he hummed softly, passing her back lightly and then letting her get up, pulling himself up into a sitting position and resting against the corner of the couch, just happy to watch her wander around the kitchen.

Jora paused for a moment, turning to flash him a warm smile as she gathered her ingredients. "You better be ready," she teased lightly, though her eyes sparkled with amusement. "Miso soup with udon, egg, spring onion, garlic, and beef—it's my favorite, so I hope you like it as much as I do."
She set to work, the scent of garlic and beef soon filling the air, making her stomach give a little rumble in anticipation. As she moved around the kitchen, she couldn't help but glance over at him, pleased by how content he seemed just sitting there, waiting.
"Don't worry," she added, grinning playfully as she stirred the pot. "It'll be worth the wait."

Sage grinned back at jora when she glanced over at him, chuckling softly. "Oh, I'll be ready," he mused. "It smells good already," he admitted lightly. He felt his eyebrows raise as she mentioned what it was....it sounded lovely, and based off of the smell it would taste just as good as he thought it would.

He chuckled again as she promised it would be worth the wait, nodding along in agreement. "Good to know," he hummed lightly. His nose was twitching by then though, as his heightened senses made his mouth water. He could practically taste it all.

Jora smirked at his response, the soft chuckle in his voice making her heart flutter slightly. She could tell he was already hooked by the smell of the food, and that made her smile even more. It wasn’t just the food that had her feeling this way—there was something about how he looked at her, waiting patiently, that made everything feel more... right.
She stirred the soup with a practiced hand, letting the rich flavors meld together as the steam curled up into the air. His interest in the meal—and in her—wasn't lost on her. “You’ve got a good nose,” she teased, her voice light but warm. “I’m guessing you’ll be the first to finish your bowl.”
With another glance over at him, Jora felt a small flutter in her chest. There was something comforting about being here, with him, in this moment. It was more than just a meal—it was shared time, something simple yet special. She didn't rush, savoring the process, just like she hoped he'd savor the meal. "You’ll see," she added with a wink. "The best part’s coming up."

Sage gave the girl a grin as she moved on, just glad to watch her. She moved about with a smile on her face, clearly enjoying cooking. Caring for him. He appreciated it more than she'd ever really be able to understand.

At her comment though, he hummed softly and nodded. "Sea nymph," he reminded her in a slightly amused tone of voice. All of his sense were good...better than human senses for sure. He didn't often let his ears or nose twitch, and heck when he was around people he normally kept the tips of his ears covered anyway, since it tended to freak people out. He didn't mind with Jora though.

Of course, as she mentioned the best part was coming, he raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "The best part will be eating the food," he joked lightly, though he was pretty serious about it.

Jora glanced over her shoulder at Sage's teasing comment, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She could hear the faint amusement in his voice, but his words about being a sea nymph made her pause for just a moment. She wasn’t sure what it was, but there was something in the way he said it, as though the reminder meant more than he let on.
She returned to her task, stirring the simmering soup with practiced ease, the soft wooden spoon moving in rhythmic circles. The broth had the perfect balance of warmth, and the scent of garlic, herbs, and something just a little sweet drifted through the kitchen. *This,* she thought, *was what she wanted to share with him.*
"You may be right," she said, her voice light, but there was a softness behind it as she added a pinch of salt, tasting the broth before adjusting it again. "But food is more than just eating, isn’t it? It’s about what goes into it. The care, the time, the… *attention.*"
She glanced over at him again, her eyes lingering for a brief moment. "Sometimes the best part is knowing that someone enjoys it. And in your case," she added with a little grin, "I’m guessing you *do* enjoy food more than most." She chuckled quietly, reaching for the fresh herbs she’d chopped earlier, sprinkling them into the soup.
The steam rose from the pot, filling the air with a comforting warmth. She paused, looking at the soup one last time before she took the spoon and gave it one final taste. Perfect. She slid the spoon into a bowl, then turned toward Sage, eyes gleaming with quiet satisfaction. "Ready?"
