| Black genes (EE) are dominant to red genes (ee). Both of your horses had a hidden red gene (Ee) and those combined in this case to make a chestnut foal. Now if you had two red horses making the black foal... Then I would start eyeing the mailman with suspicion! 😉 |

| Slow Dreamer Both parents were Heterozygous black, which means they both had E/e in their gene report. They have a chance to pass either the E (will show black) or e, (will not). Both parents did not pass the dominant gene, so the foal was not black. (simplified explanation) |

| ok I know this is a dumb thing to say, I'm not well versed in horse Eden genetics, so nobody grill me, but HOW did my two black warmbloods produce a chestnut baby.. I think the mailman got my mare or smth cause this doesn't add up |
