Sage grinned at the girl and sat back a little bit once he saw what she was doing. "The doctor decided to legally adopt me," he hummed, eyes glittering. "I know I'm not a kid anymore, but it's still nice to have someone I can call family. I never had a good dad so it'll be nice," he giggled. This conversation was better than their other one, he'd come to that conclusion a while back. The girl seemed happy too, so really it was all good. Though, he'd learned a lot about the girl in the last conversation they'd had...sometimes they had to be sad to learn about eachother. That was ok. But this conversation was still much better, and he was excited about having a dad who'd be what he needed.

Mari grinned at the boy when he started telling her about what had happened... she was probably just about as happy for him as he was for himself. "Oh, Sage that's awesome!" She grinned at the boy, giving a little bounce as she spoke. She really was happy for him, and the doctor for that matter... he knew he'd never had kids of his own, nor a wife, but it seemed as though Sage had become a type of son to him, even if he wasn't a teen anymore. Just having someone he could call family, and that person being someone he could trust, for the both of them really, was definitely good for them. "Ahw, you must be so exited," she told him with a bit of a chuckle.

Sage have a sheepish grin to the girl and nodded with a chuckle. "I haven't ethis excited in years," he admitted. "And I know the doctors just as happy as I am," he hummed. Then he looked over the girls shoulder at whatever she was doing again. "Do you want help with anything? I can stop by the barn later," he mused, cocking his head curiously as he looked back over at the girl. This would be good for both of them, and he had to admit just having someone to call family made that ball of ice in his chest melt just a little bit.

The girl nodded to the boy, a light smile still painted across her face as he told her just how exited about all of this he was. "I bet!" She chirped, "He really does love you - be must be thrilled," the girl told him with a bit of a smile, still clearly very exited about all of this for him... it would be good for Sage. It meant he wouldn't have to worry about being sent back out to the village whenever the princess got bored of him, or when the queen decided she'd had enough... he'd never have to go back to that awful tavern, and he'd just get to... well, live. She looked around at his offer, seeing if there was anything that needed doing. "Hmm... no, not really. They've had a cook come back so no dinner needs doing, and I'm nearly done here. Go see your horses, I'm sure they've missed you," she told him lightly before going back to doing whatever she'd been working on before.

Sage chuckled and nodded in response to the girl's first comment, still bouncing a little bit. He nodded again when she told him she didn't need any help with anything and chirped "okie dokie" before practically sprinting off to the barn. He checked in on all of the horses, one by one, and was delighted to see that one of the other mares, a big chestnut, had given birth to a little black filly that looked suspiciously like Chaos. He chuckled slightly and glanced in the direction of the stallions paddock, shaking his head slightly. "You stud you," he hummed, though he was happy about it all. He slid out of the stall and into Mystery's, and the filly and mare both greeted him excitedly. He spent about half an hour with the two of them before sliding out to go find chaos. The stallion was grazing when he found him, though when he heard Sage's footsteps, he pricked his hears up and trotted over to the fence to greet him. "Hey bud," he murmured, stroking the stallions face adoringly for a moment before climbing the fence and mounting the horse, laying back like he always did, closing his eyes with a sigh.

Mari watched him bounce off, her usual light smile painted across her face. She was very happy for the boy... he finally had someone he could really call family, which must have been really nice for him. She wouldn't be anywhere without her own family, and that was for sure. She finished up what she was doing before deciding to bug the doctor a little bit. She poked her head into his room and gave a grin, kind of bouncing towards the couch in the corner. "Sage is soo happy," she chirped to the man as she picked up a hand printed news paper... the farmers and village folk normally used them to sell their horses, so it seemed natural for the castle to have them so that they could get their hands on some cheap horses. She found herself flicking through, though, and her eyes eventually landed on an advert that seemed to be trying to sell some kittens... there weren't any pictures or anything, but she didn't suppose that would matter if you went to see them before hand. "Do you think Sage would like a companion? Say, maybe, a cat? He really liked ours, he might be nice for him," she told the man after a moment. He had the horses here, though... that might be enough for him.

Sage spent the next bit of time just laying on the horses back quietly, taking in everything he'd missed. The horse seemed to enjoy it all too, just as much as he did, which was nice. Eventually, though, he started his usual chatter... especially since he had the doctor to call family now, and of course he had to tell chaos about Ginger, and the rest of Mari's family. He talked a bit about the girl too, of course, and about some other things as well, including Anya and Att and how they might be doing. The horse, as per usual, tilted his ears back to listen patiently to his babble.

The doctor looked up and grunted when Mari dropped into his office, grumbling "do you need something or are you just coming to bother me about that," though of course he didn't mind, and he was very happy the boy had accepted his offer. He kept writing as the girl flicked through the newspaper before humming and nodding. "It would be a good idea," he hummed. "A kitten I mean. Otherwise he's gonna be trying to drag that foal in here to sleep with him and cuddle up. Or that stallion," he huffed. "Don't think he won't try it," he grumbled, though in a rather fond manner. "It might be good for him. He does tend to sleep better if he has a bit of creature comfort, and caring for something helps him keep his wits about in bad days," he hummed. He reached into his desk to hand the girl a bag of gold coins. "You can look around and get one you think he'll like. Keep the change and reward yourself a bit. You work hard."

Mari chuckled at the man and gave a bit of a nod. "You're good for him... you keep him grounded," the girl told the doctor with a bit of a chuckle before continuing to flick through the pages. She'd wait a little bit for the boy to settle down again before going to have a look about... there'd be some perfect kitten for him somewhere. It didn't have to be a fancy pedigree cat or anything, just a kitten out of a farm cat or alike. She nodded in agreement to the doctor, another slight chuckle escaping her. "He was talking about it earlier... about bringing the horse in. I can deal with sick patients but I swear I'm not going near a horse in here," she mused lightly before shaking her head. When the man offered her the bag of coins, she looked heasitent for a moment before nodded gently. She'd just give the money to Sage if there was change... she didn't feel right taking money for the man, so she could just use it to but said cat, and the rest to get its first feed and a bed, then the rest would go to Sage. "I'll have a look out for something. I think he'd really like it," she hummed lightly to the man, clearly a bit exited about the whole thing.

The doctor chuckled slightly and nodded. "As grounded as the boy will ever be," he hummed in a rather fond manner. "He's not one to be controlled." He nodded at the girl's reasoning about the kitten and grunted in agreement. "Take your time. But, maybe in the next few days have something figured out, or you're gonna have to deal with a horse or two in here," he noted with a chuckle. "And if you see anything else you think he might like, feel free to get that too. He doesn't have much, and I fully plan on spoiling the boy rotten." Then he wrinkled his nose. "Well, he's already a bit rotten but it's all the same," he noted with amusement. He nodded at the girl's last comment, agreeing completely. It would be good for the boy to have something of his own to care for. That was when he was happiest...hed have to talk to her queen about giving sage the horses he liked, or at the very least working with them. But that was in the future. He wasn't sure when they'd be back. The repairs were going well, but it would have to be perfect before the queen came back.

The girl couldn't help but be amused by the doctor's love for Sage - it was obvious that he did care for him, despite the occasional jabs and jokes he made about him. "Sir, you do understand you've made me watch him for the last week? I know well enough there's no controlling him. He has a mind of his own, that boy," the girl giggled, then gave another little nod to say she understood. "Don't worry, I'll find something... I think he'd be happy if the animal came out of a drain, to be honest," she chuckled lightly before pouting. "Aw, no, don't say that, he's not rotten at all," she mused lightly before putting the paper down. "Not right now, at least."
