Lorelei was still unconscious when Kai came into her room. She still would be for a little while longer, but she was finally stable now.

Kai fell asleep lightly a bit later

Lorelei woke midmoring the next day. Her eyes flickered open, her vision going in and out of focus before finally focusing properly. She heard beeping... she didn't know where she was, but it looked very clinical... maybe a hospital?

Kai woke a moment later, eyes red from sobbing. "Lorelei?" He asked softly, eyes growing wide. He stood up and leaned over her, tears already in his eyes once more. "Baby, where do you hurt? I'm so sorry..."

Lorelei shied away from the man at first, he looked so similar to her captor it was hard to tell the difference. Once she registered it was Kai though, tears welled in her eyes, "Kai..." she whispered, reaching out weakly to him.

Kai began crying hard, nearly crushing her to his chest. He climbed gently onto the bed and pulled her into his embrace. "Oh, baby...I'm so sorry...I'll kill them. I'll kill em all" He sobbed into her hair

Lorelei curled into Kai, completely sobbing into his chest. "I love you... I love you so much..." she sobbed.

"I love you too, baby. I promise I'll protect you...I failed you and I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry, I love you so much..." He sobbed

"You didn't fail me, you did everything you could," she whispered, still crying into his chest.

"I don't deserve you...I promise he'll die...I'm so sorry, baby" He sobbed, now questioning if he should stay with her in this world
