He just kept looking at her, a soft, even expression. Blank but nowhere near cold. He sat up and swung his legs over the bed, he walked over and laid down beside her. "Its not childish." He said plainly. Mimicking the position he'd been laying on his own bed. He stared up at the ceiling.

Tempe swallowed and watched him walk over, then get in bed quietly. She shifted slightly so that her arm settled next to his . "...thank you." She said softly, slightly confused since he hadn't asked for an explanation. Now she couldn't tell if she did or didn't want to explain.

Nate nodded vaguely. He didn't mind. Willing to work through the awkward for sake of her comfort. It was his fault. And he blamed himself. He kept an even expression though, he didn't want to worry her. He shut his eyes after a moment. But he was just reating.

"I just- I just don't wanna be alone, and you make me feel safe. It's like- like having a nightlight." Tempe explained quietly, suddenly feeling the need to explain. After, she cleared her throat and set her head against his shoulder. "Uhm... anyway, goodnight, Nate." She muttered quietly, closing her eyes and eventually drifting off to sleep.

3000th post ever for me hehe)) The corners of his mouth turned up but he didn't say anything about it. "Goodnight Tempe." He could feel her falling asleep but it took him a bit longer. It was starting to eat at him that she would trust him but he almost let her get spiked and or hurt in a bar fight, and then she could've died less than an hour ago. He eventually fell asleep, her being so close by made him ..less stressed. She was still with him.

Tempe blinked herself awake the next morning, slightly closer to Nate and also shocked she had been able to sleep at all. She tilted her head to look at him, watching him quietly for a few moments before she went to looking at the ceiling. She let out a slight sigh, too unbothered to look at her wound because it would involve lifting the blanket.

Nate had slept til the sun rose. With was an hour or four ago he hadn't checked. He was reading that same book but amazingly it seemed to be sticking. He felt her move and set the book down. He looked over at her. "Mornin." He said lightly. "How you feelin?"

"Better." Tempe said quietly, turning her gaze to him and flopping her head on his shoulder in a dramatic way. "But also like I hath been stabbed." She said sarcastically, looking at his book and raising her head again.

Nate kept his hands on the book, he wasn't very used to laying right beside someone. Nor an injured someone. "That's reasonable." He smiled at her. "I take it you slept finally?" He asked honestly but a little teasing.

"Yeah. Like a rock." Tempe joked, sitting up- or attempting to- and then giving up. She huffed at existence in general and then frowned at him. "I don't like being stabbed." She muttered, stretching out.
