Zephyr half pretended to look around for the drawing. As the class came to a close, he flipped over his drawing. "Ah! Found it." He said, smudging the lines accidentally with a Wince. "Or whats left of it." He added, glancing at the drawing, his eyes almost popping out. "Could be better!? You're putting Leonardo Da Vinci to shame!" He snorted.

"Zephyr Lawrence! You naughty boy!" She snatched his paper and looked at the smudged lines. "Darn" she mumbled softly. She put his paper down then shook her head. "That's not possible. He's amazing! I could never do anything like he did!" She sat in the chair for a second while the bell rang. Kids filed out of the room but Sophia took a second. "I'm serious when I ask who that drawing was" she said softly. Her eyes were on Zephyr, but she knew that the second he looked back at her she would look away

"How- oh nevermind. At least you don't know my middle name yet. And you didn't even get my full name, so ha!" Zephyr rolled his eyes, having stolen a piece of paper, he brought it up with a pencil. "Okay, I mightve been exaggerating a little. But you're really good." He snorted, then sighed and placed the paper on the wall, very quickly sketching the same face again, with less detail. "There. Now can you tell?" He asked before adding a little more detail to the eyes and the hair.

"Basketball jerseys have players last names on them. Duh" Sophia countered. She stopped and watched him draw the picture again. "I don't know" hee brain wasn't working but it slowly came to her. "Oh" without an actual word, she hugged Zephyr "it's me!!!" She took the paper. "Why did you hide the other one? It was so much better"

"I never asked how you got my last name!" Zephyr snorted, though he was happy the rumors about his full first name and middle name hadn't spread. When he was 12 he was the talk of the town for those things. At her hug he looked a little surprised. "I didn't hide it! Okay at first I did then I honestly forgot where it was. Not kidding." He was telling the truth. He really hadn't remembered what he had done with it. "I'll do a really nice one and bring it tomorrow, deal? To make up for the smudged other one."

"You started to ask! I answered. And deal" Sophia hurried away toward the lunch room "Hurry up slow poke" she pulled her backpack higher up her shoulder and pulled her softball bag behind her. It was acting up again

"How'd you know I was asking that? I could've been asking how you decided what to wear or how gorillas got silver backs or how the earth was created!" He contradicted with a huff, then jogged after her and fell into step. "I'm NOT SLOW " He snorted, grabbing her bag and carrying it instead. "Can't you just drop this off something and not drag it around?"

"Nope. Locker room is locked in the morning. That's the only spot it can go and my locker is too small. Thank you by the way" she froze before their normal table, spotting Blake. "We gotta go somewhere else. Or do you just want to sit here. If he comes you'll get him right? " her words fell out like a waterfall
|
| |
|
|
|
"Ironic, the locker room is locked. Anybody ever think of that when they named it that?" He missed, then shook his head. "Makes sense though. And you're welcome." Zephyr answered, glancing up as he noticed Blake. "Don't let him drive you away. We will sit right here like normal, and if he comes over here I will give him a day to remember." He huffed a little, grabbing food before sitting down.

Sophia hesitantly walked with Zephyr to get food before practically hiding behind him. "He gave me a note. Did I tell you that? Yesterday. I threw it away. He said he was sorry but I don't believe him. " she peeked from around Zephyr, making it look like she was sitting up but she caught Blake looking at her from the corner of her eye and she ducked back down.
