Anya gave a slow nod. Lizzie seemed like the kind of kid everyone wanted to get along with - so it was odd she didn't have anyone to spend her time with. Lizzie didn't seem to care. She had her imagination, and that was all that mattered. Anya glanced up when she heard Sage walking over, offering him a dim smile of a hello. "Good..." She paused, looking at the sky which was slowly getting brighter, "Morning." She murmured lightly. She looked a little shocked to see him, given the fact that it was already early morning. He would just end up going back to the tavern, but Anya was clearly happy to see him. "We went in the market and picked up some cute little trinkets." She paused, remembering the sweets they had picked up. "Lizzie said you'd like these." She shrugged, chucking the little bag his way.

Sage caught the bag, curious as to see what was in the bag. He picked up a piece of chocolate and put it in his mouth, curious as to what it would taste like ...he had never had it before. It was good though, and he nodded. "Well it is pretty good." He looked at Anya slightly suspiciously. "How much did you pay for all this," he asked. "You know you didn't have to do that." He was thankful, of course, but he couldn't expect her to just buy everything they needed or wanted.

The girl looked at Sage with a slightly raised brow, "Don't worry yourself. They weren't too much," Anya murmured, tucking her knees up to her chest. The sweets weren't much by her standards, at least. "I just thought I'd be nice." The girl shrugged. She knew very well she didn't have to do anything for either of them. Though, she rather enjoyed gift giving and alike. But she supposed it might come across as a little undermining. She was already doing plenty. If Sage didn't want them, she was more than happy to take them back or give them to Lizzie. She looked the boy over for a moment before letting out a soft breath. It was a little dark, but she could only just see the bruising on his lower neck. There was the nagging to quiz him, but she managed to restrain herself a little, and instead tilted her head slightly, before putting out a simple "Was work alright?" Sage nodded slowly and sighed softly. She did have the money, he supposed, and she really was doing it to be nice. He couldn't get upset about it, he just didn't want her to feel obligated to spend a lot of money on him and Lizzie. Her question surprised him for a moment and he glanced over at Lizzie, trying to find a way to word his answer in a way that wouldn't make her question anything. "I got to leave early, which happens only here and there. It's always nice " he shrugged and chuckled slightly. "It wasn't the worst customer I've dealt with. I'll be fine." It was true...he would be sore for a few days, but it wouldn't impact him much. (There was no cell reception or internet anywhere near me but I'm back now lol)

(Hope you had fun! I'm away for about a week traveling, so I might be a little spacey. Also, this is pretty short, purely because I don't have the energy lol. We need to think of some action or sum to take place) She glanced up to Sage with a small smile, "As long as you're alright." She noted before looking back down. The girl picked up a small stick and started scribbling in the sand. Whatever he had done in the tavern that night, she knew Sage would look after himself somehow. He had been working rooms for years by the sounds of it, so she wasn't as worried as she could have been. Edited at August 10, 2022 04:57 PM by Belle

(haha thanks. Also that's fine, have a good time! We could have someone attack them and Sage get hurt to the point they have to actually help him? Maybe his dad does something? Let me know what you think for action) Sage nodded slowly and looked over at the lake, nibbling at the chocolate he still had. Lizzie had finished hers by now and was getting up to go play in the water at the Lakeshore. "I'll manage," he muttered quietly as he watched Lizzie run and play, doing cartwheels and flips and whatever else she decided to do.

(We could do something like that for sure. Otherwise this is just going to end up repeating itself over and over lol) Anya watched for a few moments before tilting her head back against the tree. It had been a slightly quieter night - but wonderful all the same. Even the market had been quiet, but it meant she and Lizzie could get around safely, even without Sages company. The girl squinted her eyes as she thought aloud, "You know, it was so calm tonight. The more I think about it, the more I realize we were probably a little safer without you -" she shrugged, giving him a slightly teasing smile to let him know she was only joking... Well, partly joking. "You seem to attract the wrong kind of attention." While this was true, while they were out, she couldn't help but feel a little exposed without Sage around to play bodyguard. (lol yeah. We could start adding in some of the starting romance bits too if you wanted) Sage chuckled at her comment. "People looking for a fight will pick me out because I have scars so they assume they can beat me up and make themselves look good." He grinned over at her. "Beating up two defenseless girls hardly does that." He shrugged and made a face. "Most of those people are drunk somewhere though, not out at the market." Lizzie came skipping back over and nodded. "True " then she changed tones. "I made a sand sculpture of you sage, come see come see!" She grabbed his wrist and jerked him to his feet and started tugging him in the direction of the beach. He winced slightly and turned his wrist so he was holding her hand as she towed him along. (I'll probably have his dad do something before Anya gets there the next night she comes. Otherwise this boy would be bleeding all night long XD)

(Sounds good! And yeah, thats probably best lol. I'm going to keep my next few posts relatively short for now, move things along a little :)) Anya gave a small smile as she watched the boy get dragged off, peering into the distance as she tried to look at the sculpture. To no avail, Anya stood up and waddled over, her little bag of chocolate squared clasped im her hand as if she was scared to lose them. She had of course eaten a few, but she was likely to stuff her face when she got home again. There was still a little time before then, though, and she was planning to enjoy herself.

(alright sounds good XD) Sage looked at the little sculpture, which was really more of a blob of sane with some rocks for eyes and a sea weed hair do, and nodded slowly. "Looks good kiddo," he chirped, trying not to laugh. "I can definitely see that it's made in my image." It really didn't, and he enjoyed art, so it was a bit funny to see. But it was sweet of Lizzie too, and he wanted to make her feel good about her little project
