Seeing Tucker stare at Kyle's wounds made him wonder what the next couple days of this will be like for his mate. If he was going to be this worried as Kyle healed, how would his health be affected? Would he get enough sleep? Drink enough water? He let out a quiet sigh and decided that he would just have to keep Tucker in here until he healed. As he rubbed Tucker's hand he could see some of his stress melting away. He listened as Tucker spoke and chuckled some. "Yeah, one thing at a time," he says and feels his wolf get excited at the idea of running around, "how about you tell the other one that." He says, referring to his wolf as it jumps around inside of him, sort of cheering him on to heal up so they can do stuff.

Tucker’s gaze lingered on Kyle’s wounds, the weight of worry pressing heavily on him. It wasn’t just Kyle’s healing that concerned him, but what it would mean for the next few days—how much of it he would spend pacing, checking on him, trying to ensure everything was fine. He couldn’t afford to let that stress wear him down, but the thought of Kyle hurting or struggling made it impossible to pull away. His eyes flickered down at their clasped hands, the warmth of Kyle’s touch slowly easing the tension in his chest. His own wolf also did feel like a ball of excitement, pacing impatiently, eager for things to get back to normal. Tucker’s heart ached, wanting to be the one to make sure Kyle was okay, but also feeling the growing anticipation to have his mate back on his feet so they could move forward together.

Kyle sighed some as he watched Tucker's gaze go to his wounds again. He lifted his hand, still holding Tucker's hand as well, and tilted the omega's chin towards the alpha's face. "You seem to have a tendancy to stare at me," he joked slightly to him, "I want you to try not to focus on my wounds, ok? Having you stare at them makes me aware that they are there everytime I catch you doing it. I'm used to people staring at scars from my old injuries, but staring while I'm healing.. Well it just feels different."

Tucker hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering down to the wounds again before meeting Kyle’s eyes. There was a mix of guilt and concern swimming in his chest, but he nodded, squeezing Kyle’s hand gently. “I’m sorry,” he muttered, his voice quieter than usual, “I didn’t mean to make you feel like that.” He let out a breath, shifting his weight slightly as he tried to push the image of Kyle’s injuries out of his mind. The rawness of them, the way they seemed to scream of past battles, was hard to ignore. But Kyle was right. He didn’t want to make him feel like an object of pity or focus on things that were out of his control. “I’ll try,” he said, the words sincere but tinged with a hint of frustration at himself. "It's just... I don't like seeing you hurt." He could feel the warmth of Kyle's hand in his, and it steadied him a little. "But I get it. I'll focus on you, not the scars." Tucker’s lips twitched into a small, tentative smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. He wasn’t sure if he could stop looking entirely, but he could at least try not to let it be so obvious.

Kyle nodded his head gently as Tucker agreed to not look at his wounds anymore, or atleast try not to. "Well it's understandable that you don't like seeing me hurt," he says in a reassuring tone, "I felt the same way when you were hurt too. But just try to keep your gaze on my face most of the time, ok? That way you won't see my wounds and I can look at your beautiful eyes more." The alpha smiled at his last sentence as he gently cupped his hand around Tucker's cheek. A moment later a nurse knocked on the door before stepping in. "How are you feeling Alpha?" the nurse asked him. "Well this is probably the worst I have ever been after a fight," Kyle admits to her, "but other than that I am pretty hungry. Could you bring me and Tucker some food?" The nurse nodded with a small smile before leaving to go get them some food.

Tucker couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through him as Kyle cupped his cheek, the tender gesture pulling a soft smile from him. He met Kyle's gaze, his heart fluttering at the compliment. *Beautiful eyes,* he thought, the words making him feel both embarrassed and incredibly cherished at the same time. He nodded in response to Kyle’s request, though he wasn’t sure if he could completely keep his focus only on his face—his wounds were so… hard to ignore. But for Kyle, he’d do his best. His hand instinctively reached up to gently rest over Kyle’s, holding it there for a moment before releasing it reluctantly as the nurse entered. Tucker glanced over at her as she asked about Kyle's condition, and he could feel a little tension in his chest. It wasn’t just the physical wounds that hurt Kyle. Tucker knew his alpha took everything to heart, especially when it came to protecting him. The fact that Kyle was even admitting he felt worse than usual made Tucker’s stomach tighten. *I hate that you're like this...* he thought, but before he could say anything, Kyle's request for food caught his attention. "Yeah, food sounds good," Tucker said softly, forcing a little cheer into his voice. "We’re gonna need something to keep up with all this..." He gestured vaguely to the room. "We’re gonna be here a while, right?" His tone was light, but underneath it, there was a quiet hope that they'd be able to get through this together.

Kyle noticed the soft smile on Tucker's face as he held his cheek and complimented him. He nodded as Tucker agreed to the idea of food and smiled some. The nurse returned after a moment with a small list of food items. "The ones on this side should be safe for you to eat Alpha Kyle," she says pointing to the left side of the paper before pointing to the right side, "and then these should be good for you to eat Alpha Tucker, but you could pick anything on the page if you wanted since you're not injured." Kyle nodded at her words and was slightly surprised when she called Tucker "alpha," but didn't say anything about it. He was honestly happy someone was already seeing Tucker as his mate, therefore making him an alpha as well. "I'll have the stew," Kyle says and points at the item, "as well as some water to drink please." The nurse nodded before looking at Tucker for his answer.

Tucker glanced at the list, his fingers still lightly grazing his cheek where Kyle had touched him, a smile tugging at his lips. He felt a surge of warmth at the mention of Alpha before his name. He wasn't used to it, but it felt nice that their bond was acknowledged. It made everything feel a little more... real. He looked over at the nurse, his eyes flicking to the options, but then he turned his attention back to Kyle, nodding softly. "I'll go with the steak," he said, his voice a little softer than usual. "And maybe some of that bread on the side. Can't go wrong with bread." He met Kyle's eyes, his grin widening just slightly. "I’ll take some water too, if that’s alright." The nurse gave a small, understanding nod and moved to place the order, but Tucker stayed focused on Kyle for a moment longer. His heart still felt light, in a way he hadn't expected.

Kyle watched Tucker as he decided on his order and nodded as he looked at him. When the nurse left the two had locked gazes for a few moments. "So.. You seem to like having a new title then?" Kyle asked Tucker, noticing his smile and how he seemed less stiff after the nurse had called him alpha. He was a bit surrprised to see Tucker react to the title, but wasn't quite sure wht he was expecting. Maybe for him to be surprised by it? Or maybe to try and deny the title? Kyle was relieved, though, that Tucker didn't seem to take advantage of the title unlike some other wolves would. A minute later the nurse came back with two glasses of water for them. "I'll bring your food as soon as I can when it finishes," she says, "but I must go tend to other patients." Kyle nods at this and says, "That's understandable. Go do your job, we can always wait a bit longer before we eat."
