She quickly explained in as much detail as she could the events of what happened last night. "And I mean, he didn't have to apologize. But it did... I don't know, it still hurt... really bad. And then he walked around our room this morning and he just looked like he felt so guilty, and I don't want him to feel that way. I mean, we aren't even dating, I shouldn't be upset about it. And he shouldn't have to feel guilty. But... Ugh, I don't know. Talking about it seems like something neither of us are capable of, but the awkward silences are suffocating. Well. Go on, Love Guru, give me my world class teenage girl advice." Edited at June 30, 2023 11:31 PM by Widow Valley Farms

Laura stared at Mercy in silence as she poured out heart and soul to her. L "Firstly, holy shit. Two, he called you pretty and basically just showed you he regretted kissing someone else." She was using odd gestures to help herself think. L "Three, he is vulnerable to you. He tries not to be but he can't help it. He likes you, quite a bit. Despite the silences sucking ass, one of you is gonna bring it up and I have a feeling it will be him. My advice is bring it up yourself or give it time." She said bluntly.

"Eeeeuuuuugh. Why can't he just fucking say, 'Hey Mercy, you're cute, I wanna kiss you?' And be done with it? THATS ALL I NEED. Actually, I dont even need that. He could speak in neanderthal to get his point across, and I'd STILL be fine with it. God, I hate being patient. I feel like patience is overrated, but I also don't wanna be the one to say 'We need to talk', because last time that did not go well."

Laura stared at her harder. L "Okay- neaderthal isn't- its not a language- and its because he's afraid of you and commiting to you." She said quietly. L "Sure the world is ending but he most likely doesn't wanna ruin your relationship now incase it doesn't work out and its awkward between you two if you find out you're not meant to be. I think he hasn't told you everything, I'm sure he has other reasons he just hasn't opened up in a while."

"No, I know that, Im not- you get what I mean." She sighed, rubbing her eyes with the heels of her hands. "So basically, the entire lesson you're giving, is be patient. Which is the one thing that I don't like doing." She huffed. "Eh, I guess I'll figure it out eventually. Come on, lets go feed some people." Skip to when they get back or Luke growing a pair?))

L "You'll have to learn eventually, Mercy." She said with a tinge of seriousness. She stood, grabbing the rifle from her lap to follow Mercy. Yes, I assume Luke is taking a nap so she walks in and I shall try to make Luke grow a pair))

Mercy was walking back to the room, quite happy with how their hunt went. She ducked easily into the room. She had brought some kitchen scraps back for Dutch, putting the metal bowl she had put them in down for him and giving him a pat. She looked into the bedroom to find Luke taking a nap. She smiled slightly and grabbed her book from her bag, settling on the couch to continue looking through it. At least she didn't have to deal with the suffocating awkward silence. He woke up shortly after she got in. He winced, sitting up. He rubbed his forehead before he stood up. He peeked around the corner at Mercy, then ducked back. He ran a hand through his hair, then walked out. "Well, hey. How was the hunt?"

Mercy glanced up at him, smiling. "Hey. It was good, I was pretty happy with it. No deer, but otherwise a good haul." She said, closing her book and laying it on her end table. Edited at July 1, 2023 05:27 PM by Widow Valley Farms

He smiled a little. "Good, I trust Laura was learning also?" He leaned on the table slightly. His headache was kinda fading but still apparent.
