Sage stopped by a pet store to grab some stuff for Daisy when he got the text. 'i got her. I'm grabbing some stuff from the pet shop and then I'm heading back home,' he texted her back. He did just what he told her...once he bought the stuff he needed he went back to the house and set a space up for Daisy, who curled up in her bed. Sage was worried about Roxie, and his head was starting to hurt to he lay down on the couch and closed his eyes. Daisy crawled over to him and curled up in his chest, and he pet her for a bit before he fell asleep. |

'Sounds good I'll see you soon, Love you!' Maxine replied before she headed off back to work. When Sage fell asleep Roxie invaded his mind and his dreams, flashing images of the ring he'd made for Maxine and a few other images, one of Maxine bathed in sweat and looking exhausted "You can't save her Sage... why are you trying so hard?" she whispered in a sing-songy voice "You can't save her..." the image of Max panned to him holding a blanket in his arms the blurry image of a baby was there caressed by his touch, it was crying loudly with hunger but when the image panned to Max again... she was still and unresponsive no mater what Sage did to try and wake her. "Sage! Sage?! Wake up!" Maxine cried shaking him awake when he finally woke up she scanned over his face "What happened?" she asked worriedly. |

He woke up with a yelp and practically leapt into her arms, looking around wildly for a moment before he calmed down and took a shaky breath, rubbing his eyes. "Just nightmares," he sighed. Daisy had fallen to the floor when he woke up and now she curled up in his lap and nuzzled his arm. He glanced down and started petting her, his heart rate and breathing gradually going back to normal. |

Max wrapped her arms around him "Shh sh you're okay..."shes aid gently when he yelped "I'm sorry you had nightmares..."she said gently "Do you want to talk about it?" she offered "You don't have to..." she assured as she too reached down to pet Daisy. |

He sighed and shook his head. "It's just Roxie trying to mess with my head again. Shes just trying to make me think none of this is going to work out." He stared at Daisy for a moment before adding, "you died. In labor." When he said that he started trembling again and cursed himself inwardly. Why couldn't he be stronger? He could fight, but why was he like this inside his head? So messed up? He really wasn't as strong as he seemed. |

Max's eyes widened before she hugged him trying to disguise her own fear but her heartbeat quickened as did the baby's seeming to sense its parents distress. "It was only a dream..." she told him it was obvious that she was trying to convince herself of that too "It doesn't mean it is going to happen though right?" she said gently. |

He shook his head. "No, it's not a prophecy or anything. Roxie just knows my mental stability is...well kinda just shit at this point...and she takes advantage of it." He buried his face in her shoulder, tears welling in his eyes. "You made me happy for the first time in my entire life, Max. I can't lose that," he whispered. |

Max seemed a little relieved but that didn't ease her mind much. "Okay..." she said gently "I'm so sorry you had such a bad nightmare..." she said "And that she took advantage of that..." she said gently hugging him "Hey... you won't... Not now not ever... in one way or another we'll always be connected..." she assured taking one of his hands and pressing it to her bump kissing the side of his head gently. |

He took a deep breath and nodded. "I know," he whispered. But he also knew all that he had seen, everything in that nightmare, could very easily come true. He had collected energy from so many women who had died of labor it was so, so hard not to imagine max as one of them. Even before the nightmare. If it was a wound he could help, but that kind of thing? It was out of his control. And it scared him worse than anything else he had faced before. |

Max hugged him "No matter what happens she won't win... one way or another... she won't win... no matter what you believe you're stronger then she is... why? Because you found me and we love eachother..." she said gently. |
