The girl chuckled and shook her head at him. "Fine, fine, you can help. But you will stop if I ask, okay? No straining yourself," she murmured quietly. She nodded lightly when he asked to make sure the horses were seen to... she found herself wondering about that little filly. She did hope she was okay... but the stables were more than warm enough to make sure she was sheltered from the elements, and Snowball was a good mother, looking after the early foal the way she was. She stood up with a soft sigh and went towards where the curtain room met the wall. "I'll be two minutes, no falling out of bed or... dying," she murmured with a small chuckle before disappearing and finding a guard she could convince to see to them. Once she'd bribed a guard she wandered back towards the ward and flopped down on the chair next to the bed. "All done. They'll be fine," she told him lightly.

Sage nodded with a sigh, though he knew the girl was right. He'd never heal if he kept straining himself too much, that was for certain. But at least he could help a little bit...he hated to feel more useless than he already did. He did want to go see the horses, though he doubted he could get up, so he decided to stay put for now. Another day or two and he could get down there. He chuckled slightly when the girl commented, and he called "no promises" after her happily. He sort of just curled up in the sun with his eyes closed until the girl got back, and he opened his eyes, peeking out from his little cocoon of blankets to give her a wide grin. "Thanks," he chuckled. "I don't think anyone else out here really cares to care for them all that much," he hummed. He was getting bored as the medicine wore off, so now he was wondering what he could do that wouldn't hurt and wouldn't make the doctor annoyed and/or upset in any way.

The girl couldn't help her small smile when she saw his amber eyes peaking outside the cocoon he'd made himself. She was very tempted to run over and poke him but restricted herself to the chair. She nodded in agreement at his little comment before giving a bit of a sigh. "I'll write to get the queen and get her to hire another stable hand while you're getting better," she hummed softy. "Speaking of letters, do you want me to write that letter to the princess for you? I'm afraid that my handwriting isn't the neatest but it is eligible, I promise," she told him with a small chuckle. "We can do that now if you feel like it," she murmured with a bit of a smile.

Sage noted the amusement in the girls eyes when she saw him peek out from under the blankets and then he nodded thankfully when she said she could write to the queen. "It won't be more than a day or two," he mused. "the guards can manage until then I would think." Then he nodded and shrugged. "Why not," he hummed. Then he chuckled and grinned. "Well Anya can't read most of my handwriting," he chuckled. "Probably helps that you know how to spell." Then he shrugged. "Besides, I don't have much else to do right about now besides sleep, and I just did that."

She nodded lightly and went to grab a piece of paper and a pen. "Well, you're gonna need help anyway. I'll send for help," she told him with a laugh. She got the book she was reading and went to lean on it, starting the letter off and then looking back towards Sage. "Well, what do you want to say?" She asked with a cocked head. She really did hope the princess could read her writing... she could spell, of course, she could, but her writing was... awful, really awful. And she didn't just want the other girl to just dismiss the letter because it was difficult to read. Oh well... she'd just have to take her time, and hopefully, it would be eligible.

Sage chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Fine fine," he hummed. When the girl had gathered a pen and paper, and asked him what he wanted to say, he blinked slowly and hummed. "That's a good question. I didn't think that far ahead besides having a question for her," he chuckled. He cocked his head for a moment to think, and then grunted. "Well, a greeting I guess ...and ask how she's doing. And how Att's doing." He thought for a moment more as the girl wrote out his requests, then he spoke up again. "I was gonna ask her if I could take a couple of Luther's old shirts for myself too... something to remember him by in a way," he added on, and then his eyes lit up. "Oh, and tell her about Mystery of course! She'll love her," he practically squealed, eyes shining at the thought of the filly. He sat up quickly and then made a face as pain swamped him and slowly rose the rest of the way with a groan. "Remind me not to do anything quickly," he groaned, his voice rather amused at that.

The girl nodded and went to start writing, although it was... slow. She tried to get things in the way she thought Sage would say them so that it was actually coming from him. "That's a nice idea - with Luther's shirts," she hummed with a bit of a smile before biting the inside of her lip as she wrote away. "Okay... I think that's everything," she chirped lightly. "Have you got any drawings of the filly to put in there? I bet she'd like that," she murmured quietly before taking the letter over to the boy. "I'm... I'm sorry it's not too neat, but she should be able to read it. You just need to sign it off," she told him with a light smile.

Sage chuckled and nodded, then reached for the letter. "Not yet, but I'm partway through some. I'll finish and then send it off," he told the girl, reaching for the pen to scrawl his name across the bottom of it. Anya was bound to know he had had help writing the letter, so he wasn't too worried. "It looks fine," he reassured the girl. "Much better than what I could do," he admitted with a chuckle.

The girl nodded and scanned the letter again with a soft sigh before putting it on the side. "Once you've done tell me and I'll take it out," she hummed lightly before giving a light smile. She looked at the clock, only to find that it was getting a little bit later. Well, she was tired and she didn't want the doctor to stress about the boy, she needed to get settled. If he was asleep then he couldn't hurt himself. She went to grab one of the wheeled beds and put it in the corner across from Sage before grabbing some sheets to set up. Once she was done, she flopped back on the bed with a soft sigh. "You feel okay? Do you need water or a snack or some meds or... anything?" She asked with a cocked head.

Sage nodded at the girl's comment and grinned over at her. Then he cocked his head, watching the girl scurry about and drag a bed and some sheets into the room. He did feel a bit guilty about not being able to help her, but he was definitely thankful she was staying with him. He was wearing down again though, as more medicine wore off. He let out a thoughtful hum in response to her questions and shrugged. "Maybe water, and maybe some more pain meds so I don't wake up in the middle of the night hurting," he mused. "That's happened before and it's not pleasant. But other than that I think I just need sleep."
