"For now I do, yeah." Mercy rolled her eyes, smiling at him. She gave a mock gasp. "What? YOU? Spend time with another creature... on purpose? Wow, thats a shocker." She teased, tilting her head at the dog. "Wait, what does he want?" She asked curiously, reaching over Ajax to ruffle Rex's fur.

"Hey, I like dogs!" Ajax protested, swatting at Mercy before snorting. He raised his eyebrows slightly at her question, glancing at the dog again who was now lifting a paw. "He is teasing me, in his own way. Nothing you'd understand." Ajax chuckled, pretending like he was holding a handgun and pointing it at Rex. "Bang." Ajax said, and the dog flopped over on his side, his tail still wagging. "Rex, the wagging tail gives it up." Ajax complained, and the dog stopped wagging its tail and stared intently forward. "Aaaand he's dead." Ajax grinned, waiting a moment. "Come to life." he finally said, and Rex sprung up like a pogo stick and yipped happily

"What am I? A cockroach?" Mercy teased, laughing as he swatted at her. She tilted her head at him with a small smile. "Alright, keep your inside joke then." She rolled her eyes and watched their little scene with interest. She laughed in surprise, quickly reaching for Rex and ruffling his fur. "Good boy! That was such a good trick, buddy." She smiled, popping a kiss on his muzzle. "How long did it take you to teach him that?" She smiled, looking at Ajax.

"Naw. I was thinking more along the lines of a firefly." Ajax answered helpfully, snickering slightly. When Mercy reached out to applaued Rex, the dog sat and looked as proud as a king. "It was a good trick." He commented, then furrowed his brow slightly and cleared his throat, obviously putting on another one of his... shows. "Well, since my IQ is a little lower then his... it took me a lot longer to teach him than it did for him to learn." Ajax sniffed with a very thick British accent. Kind of a hit on the Brits, which made sense because Ajax really didn't like Redcoats. "he knows plenty of other tricks." Ajax pointed out, holding out a hand to Rex. "Good day." He said, and the dog placed a paw in his hand and they shook hand/paw. "See ya later" Ajax said, waving his hand. Rex sat on his haunches and waved a paw in the air, seeming to grin. "Get dizzy." Ajax said with a slight chuckle, and Rex responded by spinning in a circle as if chasing his tail. "Great job, buddy." He praised the happy dog with some petting

Mercy huffed at him. "Well, Im glad you think I glow." She rolled her eyes, watching him with a mocking gleam in her eyes. "Trust me, if anyone knows how horrid your IQ is, it's me." She teased, grinning at his next little performance. "I can't believe you had the brainpower to teach him all this. Rex really must be carrying the team, huh?" She smiled, reaching over to scratch behind his ears.

Ajax chuckled slightly. "I'm just nice that way." He chirped pleasantly, his face falling into a glare when Mercy spoke again. "Ya know..." He started with a grin, his eyes starting to twinkle. "This just proves something. *Someone fell while walking. A good friend would help them up. A great friend would help them up and ask if they were okay. A REALLY great friend would laugh at them and say ^Walk much?^*" Ajax laughed, looking at Mercy with a sly smile. "You are proving you are a great friend!" He hooted with a chuckle, ruffling Rex's fur.

Mercy listened to him with a chuckle. "So, you're saying we're great friends now? Not best friends?" She asked, pretending to be hurt and placing the back of her hand to her head, pretending to faint and flopping to the ground. "How very devastating." She gave a dramatic sigh.

|

|
"hey, you should be thankful you got great friend out of me!" Ajax sounded offended, waving his hand. "Drama Queen." he scoffed, and rex gave a woof. "So very devastating. The end of the world. What'd you expect, for me to give you a nice big hug and say you were my BFF? Because... if you expected that... I may need to inspect your brain or send you in for mental therapy. If that happened, I think I'd say you were a bit loopy." Ajax snickered

"I must be a bit loopy if I hang out with you by choice. And I mean, is it so bad to give someone a hug?" She sniffled dramatically, walking to Rex's otherside and curling up with the dog. "He's so mean to me, Rex." She teased, gently ruffling the dog's fur.

Ajax let out a loud snort, and Rex snorted as well. "You should know that from the beginning." He sniffed, and Rex panted to show he agreed. "You do know that means YOU are loopy." Ajax pointed at the dog, and Rex almost lookedlike he was glaring at Ajax. When Mercy laid down next to the dog, Rex twisted his head around and licked her ear once, looking pleased with himself. "I'm mean?" Ajax asked with a sad look, but that really didn't fit him well.
