Sam woke up in his warm cozy chair in the morning. he got out, stretching and walked inside. Shovelling down some creeal, he grabbed some cheese and crackers for the picnic later on, and went to see Nero. His horse was fine, dozing peacefully in the sunshine outside. With his feed and water done, Sam went back to see wether Ellie wanted to go yet.

Ellie woke up with a soft yawn before getting showered and dressed. She went though her cupboards to try and find a saddle bag so that she wouldn’t have to carry the boxed sandwiches. She made her way down to the yard, starting off on her morning duties.

"We can go now, just a minuet!" She replied with a light smile before going to catch her patched gelding in. She made her way to the tack room to get her saddle, then put in on the fence to attach the saddle bag. "I made extra sandwiches, just encase... But if not, they need to be eaten today." She informed Sam as she tacked her gelding up. After a minuet of tacking up, she moved Astra toward the fence to mount, then double checked her bags before waiting for Sam. "okay cool, i brouht a bit of food too," he said, tucking his supplies into a backpack. With Nero all saddled up, he leaped on lightly and made sure they were comfortable. Following Ellies lead, he walked down a lond, dusty track into the forest, Nero delicately sniffing the green air.

Ellie let Astra off on a loose rain along the track, the gelding snorting grumpily a few times before going quiet again. Ellie snickered softly to herself before patting his neck lightly. Once they had gotten onto a track, she turned her head to Sam, hoping to make some sort of conversation with him. "So," She paused trying to think of something to say, "We've known each other for a little while now, but I still don't know much about you." Ellie started quietly, "Is there anything I should know about yourself?" She questioned, curiosity plastered to her face.

Sam and Nero plodded alon happily down the track. At her question, he frowned just slightly, filtering through his brain for information. He liked and trusted Ellie, so he was more relaxed about saying things. "My- my Mum was from England, and my Dad is from the US." Sam had always pushed down the fact that his mother had died, so it felt good to sort-of admit it. "i have no siblings, and my father is always away on business, he doesnt really care about me. Hence why i'm here far away from him..." he said a little sale, reaching down and stroking Neros neck absent-mindley.

Ellie tilted her head a little as he started speaking up to her, he said was while talking about his mother, so soon figured out that she wasn't with them any more. She didn't press him on it, so just let him talk for a little while. "I did notice that you didn't get a call from him on your birthday... He just sent you money, didn't he?" She questioned after a moment of silence, "I'm sure he cares really." She promised softly.

"yeah, and you want to know the truth?" Sam said. "Its his secretary that writes to me Happy Birthday, and sends the money over. he doesnt care, just tells her what to do." he said softly, closing his eyes for a minute and inhaling the sharp scent of the pine growing around them. "Anyway," he slipped off topic. "what about you? i dont know a great deal about you either." he gave her a grin, before looking back to the track in front of him.

Ellie frowned at what he had to say about his father, mainly because she didn't know what she would have done if her own father was like that when he was around. She wanted to say more about the subject, but Sam quickly changed it, and she didn't seem to mind too much. She gave a laugh at his eagerness but nodded slightly as she tried to think of what to say. "Well, I don't have a very exiting life, not really, but I have two brothers... Oscar and Max. Oscar is my younger brother, who lives with my aunt right now... And Max, the eldest of us, who-" She paused, "I don't know where he is right now. All I know is that he is somewhere. He doesn't really stay in one place." She said with a small laugh, "But he's always there when I need him." She made sure to add so she didn't put im in a bad light. "But I have no clue whats going on with my mother." She shrugged with furrowed brows. She chose not to mention her father, just not wanting to get too into it. "We don't talk too much, but we get along, my mother and I." She added lightly.
