(I'll keep that in mind! 👍) •~• She wondered why he avoid looking at her so quickly. Was it something she said? Or something he said? What must this be so confusing? Now she just wished her thoughts would sort them out about all of... This. She already has enough problems as it is. It took her a few seconds to realized he had asked her a question. Right, he wouldn't know what happened after she left his place that day. •~• "Oh... Oh! Yeah I found some work a couple days ago. A place called... Floral Fits if I remember right?" •~• Hazel pondered for a moment, before nodding to herself. Yeah that was the name, she's sure of it. She tilted her head at Jordan, noting how he at least didn't look that different from when she last saw him. Which makes sense it wasn't that long of course but... It's was weirdly reassuring, even if she didn't know why. Maybe it helped to know she hadn't traveled further into time or even more backwards when she had closed her eyes. She shifted slightly in the grass so she was sitting against the tree so she could relax a little more. She then started fiddling with her fingers, even running them through the grass from time to time. She didn't know what else to say, why was it so hard to say something? •~• "So... Yeah... I'll probably save up for a couple weeks or so and... Then continue on my way." •~• She shifted once again, her gaze flicking from him to the sky and back. The sun was likely going to set soon, and she should probably start making her way back to town. It'd take a few minutes to get down there, than she'd have to try and remember where all the houses he barrowed books and maps from were. But she didn't want to just leave either, she hadn't seen Jordan and know she kinda just wanted to talk to him. If she can manage to get words out that is. •~• "So... Has there been anything new with you? I mean, it hasn't been long but... Stuff can happen I guess." •~• |

Jordan breathed deeply, trying to act normal, no matter how impossible that actually was. He nodded at her comment, remembering the clothing shop. He'd been there a couple times when they had ordered new display mannequins and tables and such, but not recently. . He listened to her next words and ran a hand through his hair, even more awkward then before. He could've said something but knew it would have made him seem even more stupid. So he stayed silent, waiting to see if she'd speak again or if they'd just stay there like that forever. . He was relieved when she asked him about his life, since it gave them something to talk about. "Yeah, um... Things are fine... I got a job at the stable, and we've been getting a lot of orders recently. It's been hard to find time to get out alone." He realized as he was talking that he never had someone to open up with before. It felt kind of... nice. . He shuffled his feet again, still looking at the ground. Jordan glanced back to make sure his mare was still alright, and in doing so noticed that the sun was beginning to set. He looked back towards Hazel. It was about a fifteen minute walk back to town but only five on horseback. Was she planning on going back soon? "Uh... Do you need a ride back?" Then, realizing he didn't even know where he would take her, asked, "Where are you staying?" Then added quickly, "If you don't mind me asking." |

•~• "Thats good, makes sense. Though it does sound hard to not have much alone time..." •~• Hazel trailed off. With Alice being well... Alice, she found it hard to get time to herself as well. And she had notice it getting slightly more busy in the store, with a lot more people coming in for clothes she personally thought were a little much. Maybe it was a certain time of year she didn't know about, it would definitely make sense at least. Maybe she'll see if she can find anything out about certain events later, if she can remember upon everything else. •~• "A... Ride?" •~• For a moment she thought she heard him wrong. She hadn't riden a horse in... Well longer than she would've liked to have. So she couldn't help the slight excitement that she felt at the idea, even if it was just for a few minutes. Hey if he was offering, she wasn't gonna say no to a ride and less time to get back. Though that probably means leaving soon... Well she's had her time at least, and she could always continue her reading tomorrow. •~• "If your sure your fine with it... Then yeah I could use a ride back. Beats walking back there on foot." •~• She answered a little quicker then she meant to, and she stopped before she could start rambling about it. She stood up and began to gather the things she had laying around. She didn't want to leave yet, which was exactly why she was making herself leave sooner. Because she didn't have a clear clue why she wanted to stay, and it made her nervous for some reason. It wasn't because of Jordan, of course not. She didn't feel like this the first time she met him so it couldn't be the reason now, she was sure of it. Ugh, maybe she should've napped longer... •~• "I've been renting a room at the inn at the other end of town actually. It didn't seem to bad and the cost isn't the worst." •~• Hazel replied, before counting to really make sure she had everything she brought. She didn't want some angry resident on her about not returning something. Once sure, she looked back up at him. A little glad he wasn't just looking at the grass again. •~• |

Jordan nodded, confused why she had paused after he asked if she needed a ride, then answered a little too quickly. He glanced at her with a quizzical look, but she was already packing up her things. He shrugged to himself and got the mare ready. . He nodded at her explanation of where she was staying. "Yeah, that's not a bad place." He couldn't think of anything else to say, so he remained silent. The mare didn't have a saddle, just a simple halter and reins, so there wasn't anything to pull yourself onto her with. Once Hazel was finished, he led the horse to a nearby rock so they could mount easily. . He took her things for her and let her mount first, then swung up himself. He positioned himself in front of her, so he could hold the reins and guide the mare. He hoped Hazel was okay sitting in the back, considering he had no idea if she'd ridden a horse before. . Jordan gave Hazel a mischievous smile, and, hardly wondering why he was doing it, urged the mare into a canter. She was large, and had huge, floating strides, so it wasn't a rough ride. In fact, it almost felt like they were flying. |

Hazel held her things tightly as they started to move, but she quickly found herself relaxing. It was still the same, no matter how long it had been since she's last ridden. She couldn't help but look around constantly at the surroundings, feeling like everything was different from being higher up. Jordan seemed to know what he was doing as well. Of course he did, what kind of thought was that? No-one would go out riding without knowing how to ride. •~• Maybe it was the feeling of riding against getting to her. Or the bottled up emotions of everything that had happened so quickly. Or maybe it was a thousand other things, she didn't know. But she had the sudden urge to tell Jordan everything, and she means everything. From the moment she fell and from everything before, which was a stupid idea! What if it comprised everything she's done so far? Or mess up a timeline of some sort like in the movies? She could sit here for hours, her mind spinning with every single bad outcome it could possibly think of. But she had half a mind to ignore it and do it anyway. Maybe there's a chance he'd understand, or try too at least. Or maybe even better he'd just think she's extra crazy and never speak to her again. `Why would I think that's a better outcome- That's even worse.` Hazel thought to herself. She had to do it, she needed to do it. Even if it just meant getting it off her chest, at least she'd have peace of mind she told someone. •~• "Look, Jordan. I'm just gonna come out and say this, and you can call me crazy later. I'm not from here, or even here in general. I'm from the 21st century, and a couple days ago I suddenly found myself back here. That's when I ran into you in the stable that morning, and I've been figuring out way to get back. If you want me to prove it with evidence I can't. If you have questions I can answer them, if you wanna ignore me for the rest of your life that's fine too. I'll be leaving for Bondan in a couple of days to see if I can find answers." •~• She rushed out, finally taking a moment to breath. There she said it, and as soon as she did she was hit with a blow of panic and nervousness. She wanted him to believe her, she didn't want to chase him off now. Oh why did she say all that?! She should've kept her mouth shout. Yup she was definitely going to need to leave in a few days instead of weeks now, simply to get out of here. She should have enough in savings to get supplies and make her way there, and probably find work there as well. •~• |

As they rode, Jordan noticed her stiffness behind him gradually relax. It was clear she had ridden before, but not in a while. He smiled to himself as she looked around, glad she wasn't ordering him to slow down. . Though he'd never admit it, sometimes he liked fast-paced things. Everyone always thought he was the kind of person to overthink absolutely everything, and usually he was. But sometimes, like now, he needed an escape from his emotions, the feelings he didn't understand. . Right now, though, he had to come back to the present, because Hazel was speaking. As she spoke, his eyes grew wider and wider, and he slowed his mare to a walk so he could listen more intently. . By the time Hazel stopped talking, Jordan's head had nearly exploded. What about the 21st century? He was pretty sure it was close to the 10th century, probably later. He had asked one of the scholars in town once, but couldn't remember exactly what the old man had said. He wished he could turn around to see her face, to tell if Hazel was telling the truth. . His voice wasn't doubting, and he wanted to believe Hazel would tell the truth. "Wait wait wait. Let me get this straight. You're from the twenty-first century and somehow ended up here, in, what, the 10th century? And you don't know how?" Jordan would have asked about what things had been invented then, but he was too distracted trying to sort it all out. . "That doesn't sound like something you could make up. So, basically... You're from the future?" That would explain her strange clothing and behavior, and why she was talking about some place called London. That must be a town in the future. "That is both one of the craziest things I've ever heard, and one of the most interesting." . Jordan decided that he didn't want to go home right now, and that it would be easier to listen to Hazel if they were facing each other. He reined up his mare and dismounted, helping Hazel down. He gestured for her to sit in the grass, and took a seat next to her. "I'd like to be able to see you while you tell me more about this," he explained, sitting cross-legged. |

•~• When Jordan didn't instantly react badly, she almost fainted in relief. This could actually turn for the better! But she mentally calmed herself down, not wanting to get her hopes up to much yet. She was about to answer is questions- if they could even be considered that- when he had suddenly stopped the horse. She was about to question him on what he was doing until he got down. She quickly understood and got down as well, and at his gesture sat down. She crossed her own legs, and nodded at his words, facing him. •~• "Sure, that makes sense. Okay more about this..." •~• What should she say first? What was different in her century? How she got here? So much she could say, explain, and with no idea where to start. Maybe the basics would work first, yeah probably the best idea. •~• "Okay. So explain it a little better... I was in London, and one night I was looking around the library in the place I was staying. I was messing with some books, putting them back in order, and suddenly I felt like I was falling. Soon I found myself lying in a forest, and maybe my way to that stable. Stayed there that night and met you. That's when I started figuring out I wasn't no longer... In my time. That makes sense, right?" •~• Hazel picked at a invisible part of her tunic, feeling the need to do something with her hands while she looked at him. She would get into other things of course, but she had wanted to get the important part out first. •~• |

Jordan watched her intently as she talked, all past awkwardness dissipating. He listened quietly, waiting for her to finish, while thinking of all the questions he wanted to ask. Once she concluded, he took a breath and started his stream of questions. . "I'm not trying to bombard you or anything, but I do have a lot of questions." They were just surface questions. What he really wanted to know was how in the world she had travelled back in time and how she was planning on getting back. But better to start out simple. . "What is a library? What's London like? What are the books then about? Why were you wearing those red clothes? Is that the style then?" He realized those last two probably weren't polite questions, but it was too late to take it back. He clapped his mouth shut and averted his eyes, suddenly growing nervous again. He picked grass and tied it in knots, now annoyed at himself for acting so weird. . 'Focus, Jordan! She seems happy that you believe her at least, so act like you're interested in what she has to say!' He licked his lips and dropped the grass, looking back up at Hazel. |

Hazel had to think about what he asked for a moment. She wasn't expecting those to be the questions, therefore hadn't had any answers ready. Wait he didn't know what a library was?! She did figure such a small village like this wouldn't have one, but he'd still know what it was at least!
`Just answer them one at a time, it's fine Hazel.` •~• "Okay, okay, I can answer all of those, somewhat at least. Let's see... A library is a room mainly full of shelves with books everywhere. Though the layouts usually depend on the taste of whoever uses it or made it. London is like what I'm guessing Bondan or any major town is here, but more modern. It's a popular city in England and were I was staying. It's easier if you could've seen it yourself then explaining, but you get the idea probably." •~• She paused for a moment to catch her breath and to give a second for her words to sink in. Two questions down, few more to go. For now, until she has more to answer. And she's pretty sure there will be more, just a matter of when. Alright what's next, something about the books and her clothes? That was a odd question. She looked down at herself for a moment. She had kept the one's Jordan had given her and had even asked Alice to give her second set instead of money one day. She had forgotten about her pajamas she had first worn, now sitting in the basket in the corner of the inn room. •~• "I can't remember much about the books, it's been kinda fuzzy. I do remember them being in order of date though. Those red clothes were pajamas, something most people use in my time change into before going to sleep, or sometimes to just comfortable. I guess that kind of makes them a style? I mean there is multiple types of colors, patterns, versions... So yes." •~• Hazel finished with a slightly happy sigh. It felt nice to talk about her time, to finally have someone else that knows. It's been hard enough trying to not say something about a sewing machine or such to Alice, along with other things. And Jordan looked like he genuinely was intrested... At least that's what it looked like, and she was glad he was taking this better then she thought. Which she did start to question slightly. •~• "You... Really do believe me? Why, if you don't mind me asking?" •~• |

Jordan's expression turned into his thinking face, eyebrows scrunched together and forehead wrinkled. He listened, trying to take it all in. So, libraries were places with lots books... He felt like he'd heard of a library before, but nowadays the only people to have lots of books were scholars and monks. . Pajamas? What a strange word. Well, it made sense that people then want more comfortable clothes to sleep in-- the tunic he was wearing was incredibly itchy!-- but being bright red? It didn't make sense. Argh, why was he even trying to understand? The future was way too different and complicated, and time travelling was even more complicated. Though he could probably figure it out eventually. . 'Focus, Jordan! She's talking again!' he told himself, narrowing in on Hazel. She asked why he believed her... Of course. That made sense. Who in their right mind would believe some strange, foreign girl that she had travelled to the past from the future? Actually, now that he was thinking about it, maybe he wasn't in his right mind. His thoughts had been weird ever since stumbling upon her while she was sleeping, so it would make sense that he was out of whack. . But that wasn't it. He was completely fine, apart from the weird nervous feeling he got when he looked into her eyes. So it must be true that he did believe her. At least, he didn't not believe her. And why? . 'Well,' Jordan thought, 'probably for one of two reasons. One, I trust her because she's an honest, kind girl, or two, because there's something about her that's different from everyone else I know.' It was probably just the first, but he wanted to believe she was especially unique. . Just something about the way she had looked at him when she came out of the hay pile, or right now, how she was sitting there on the grass, wondering if she could ever get home and if everyone thought she was crazy. 'I don't think she's crazy, though, right? No, I don't. She's just a lost, kind, prett--' Jordan stopped himself before thought that deeply. Maybe he was out of whack. Why was he suddenly think Hazel was pretty? . 'Do I,' Jordan shivered a little, 'LIKE her?! Why in the world would I have a crush on this random girl who travelled back in time and is trying to get back? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!' Jordan inhaled sharply, trying to get back on course. Why did he trust her? That's what she'd asked. 'So answer the question!' he yelled at himself, trying to think past the fog of emotions. . He could tell she was glad he believed her, even if she hardly believed herself. So he tried to ignore the truth that he had a crush on her and answered confidently and kindly, "Yes, I do believe you. And I believe you because..." What was he supposed to say? That he believed her because he liked her? No, that would probably freak her out. The first person she meets in the past happens to be a guy her age and he immediately crushes on her. No, bad idea to tell her that. Say what the truth is, beyond that. . "I believe you because you're honest and kind, and I don't think you'd ever lie." He said, forcing himself to look at her. Now that he knew he liked her, he could barely stop the heat from rising to his cheeks. The only thing he could do was not look at her, and that probably made it even more awkward. . (Whoo, sorry, that got super long! I was carried away with writing about a crushing guy's brain lol) |
