Cougar - He frowned as she began to walk away. Had he said something wrong? He just meant to say that something wasn't working and that they needed to come up with a solution together. He started to trail after her, nickering in confusion. Wow, he must've really messed up . Why was he so bad at everything? "Marble, where are you going?" He called, trotting after her. "I just want to talk! And come up with a solution to keep the both of us happy."

Marble - Marble looked up and stopped, looking over at him, clearly confused. "You don't want me to leave?" she asked puzzled. "You're not kicking me out?"
Cougar - "What?" He said, puzzled. "I didn't mean that I wanted you to leave..." He looked angry at himself. "I just wanted to talk, so we could come up with a solution of how to make sure we are both happy. That solution doesn't involve me kicking you out! I would never do that!"

Marble - Marble blushed, embarrassed with herself that she thought that immediately. She jumped to conclusions a little too quickly on this one. "Sorry... i just thought... nevermind." she mumbled, clearly embarrassed.
Cougar - She looked embarrassed. He hadn't meant to embarrass her, but this conversation was going so wrong, he couldn't think of what to do. "So, let's just talk for a moment." He said, looking at her. "I've already stated what I'm unhappy about, is there anything about me or any ways that I treat you that you aren't happy with? After we figure out what is "wrong" we can build a solution together."

Marble - Marble nodded thoughtfully. "Well... sometimes you're a little distant..." she mumbled, looking away, hoping her words didn't hurt him. It was true though. When Cougar got upset, he shut her out, and was distant, even when she tried to help.
Cougar - Cougar listened carefully. He started to contemplate her words and tried to figure out ways to change. "Alright..." He said, deep in thought. "How can I be less distant? I can try to say what I'm thinking aloud instead of lingering on it, so we can work it out?" He looked at her to see her opinion. "Thoughts? And, is there anything else that bothers you?"
| |
Marble - Marble nodded in agreement, "That might work," she commented. "I like that idea," she added. "Well... yeah. Um, I know you're not the biggest fan of Marley, and you know I don't really like the way you treat him when he's just trying to play. I know sometimes he can be a bit of a menace, but you can't teach him to behave by lashing out on him, or running away. Running away makes him think your playing with him. He's just a duckling, he doesn't know any better." Marble explained.
Cougar - Cougar rolled his eyes, amused. "I am not a duck, and therefore do not know how to raise a duck. Let's just say Marley is a... Work in progress.." he smiled. "With the 'I feel like you are treating me like a foal' thing, perhaps you could still give me advice, but do it in a friendly way, almost like you are giving me tips, instead of putting me down for something I did wrong?"

Marble - Marble nodded. "Okay" she agreed and then listened. "Okay, I can do that." she stated thoughtfully. "Is there anything else I could do?"
