Danika smiled at his nod, making her way to the small staircase beside the tank. The settled on the top landing, gently lifting one of the hatches and letting the ring drop into the tank. She shut the hatch after, making her way back down and out in front. "You need a name." She commented idly, plopping down in her chair and picking up a random pen. She tapped the end gently against her lips, spinning around in consideration. "I could call you Whitie. Or Magpie." She offered, taking a glance at him and crinkling her nose. "No, uh... Perseus? Greek myth?" She looked over him again.

Danika got a little nervous as the siren swam to meet her- she didn't trust him not to take any chance for revenge, as adorable as he was. She still offered him a smile when he discovered the ring, happy that he seemed content, at least.

She gave another spin in her chair, watching her companion in the tank. She fought the smile tugging at her lips, watching the gentle swish of his tail, almost like a dog. He seemed slightly content. "I'm glad you like it, Magpie." She teased. That could be a cute name- nickname, maybe. She span around again, staring at the ceiling and biting down gently on the end of the pen. "Going with myths, we could aim more Egyptian with it. Set? ...nah. Horus, maybe." She muttered, thinking for a few moments and then turning to her content company. "Osiris." She stated simply, looking him over for a few moments. This seemingly happy, probably playful, siren man named for the Egyptian god of judgement and death?

Sounded perfect.

"Osiris. Project Osiris." She nodded, tossing her pen down. "Sound good, 'Ris?" She crinkled her nose slightly at the nickname, tilting her head side to side. "We'll workshop it." She shrugged, picking up her laptop and moving to start recording the data She had on him.

Danika continued typing in her research and observations on Osiris, using the tech in the tank to monitor his life signs. His resting rate was higher than what a human's would be- but not insanely so. She looked up to watch him cuddle into the sand, smiling slightly. So cute.

She blew out a breath as he settled in for what looked like a rest, moving to unbraid her hair. She raked her fingers through it and let it fall in waves around her face, ruffling it and taking a look at the slightly faded indigo streaks in her hair. Not bad- but she would need a touch up when they got to shore, especially if the whole siren discovery would be getting out.

If Davenport would even let her leave the boat, anyway.

She tugged the voluminous mass of her hair into a ponytail, loosening it and looking at her laptop screen again. She glance quickly from the screen to Osiris, blinking rapidly and going to town on the bio signs. Healthy- alive- just... 20 bpm. That was absolutely crazy. She waited, holding her breath for a few minutes, tension slowly leaving her body as he... didn't die.

When she was sure he was alive, and well, and this was natural- she started rapidly typing out the information.

● म्हासागर | Osiris ●

Danika was so done with this man's bullshit. Always, always, always, Davenport was on her ass about something. But now, of course, he had to be fighting her over shipping rights for one of the biggest discoveries since the elves had been uncovered. He had no praise for her finding a completely new species, humanoid, no less- no, nothing like that, no hugs, no kisses for the woman who was both his star employee and girlfriend. Almost fiancee, if she thought correctly.

Nope, just a whole lot of yelling.

Cold, hard yelling.

Before she knew it, she was yelling back, and they were screaming at each other. Over this, that, the other thing. They both only stopped when a rapid beeping came from her computer, showing Osiris' life signs. Back to normal. Danika's chest heaved slightly as she looked into the tank, blinking a few times to calm herself down- She had been seeing red for a hot second. She blew out a breath when she saw her companion hidden in the kelp; blowing out another breath. Adam Davenport had fallen silent across from her, breathing a little heavily himself. She turned her gaze to him so she could watch him drag a hand through his already mussed dark hair, setting the other hand on the hip of his jeans as he peered into the tank. A "Incredible." It was breathed out, and she simply sighed through her nose.

"You were so preoccupied with screaming at me you didn't take a second to look at him, huh?" She said quietly, peering at the siren as Adam turned his attention to her- his face was a little twisted with guilt. Still; he was too attractive for her to be angry with him for long- green eyes and a sharp jawline, what could she do?

"I'm still studying him. Go think about what you wanna do; give me at least a day." She said softly, turning her back on him and settling in the rolling chair in front of her desk. Adam made a conflicted expression, took in a breath, and then wheeled his broad shoulders right around and out the door. It fell shut behind him.

With a sigh, Danika leaned back and scraped her hands over her face, rubbing her eyes. One breath. Two breaths. Three breaths.

She opened her eyes and sat up, turning toward the siren. "Hey, friend." She called quietly, raising her hand in a wave. "Sorry about that." She said, glancing at her computer and zoning out for a moment.

Danika smiled as the siren came forward, watching him press a hand against the glass. He was so... graceful. So human, yet not at the same time. She observed the claw-like tips of his fingers, tilting her head at him. She took a few slow, cautious steps forward, reaching to gently press her hand against the glass. Her nails were... nonexistent. Chipped by the weather on the boat, bitten to the quick by her own teeth. An anxious habit.

She smiled softly as he darted back, removing her hand and backing off, turning to her chair. "We'll get there one day. How do you like the ring?" She asked curiously, trying to trick herself into thinking he could understand her. She lifted her hand and turned to face him, pointing to the finger her had it on. After, she gave a thumbs up and tilted her head. It was about as good as she could do, for the moment.

म्हासागर tilted his head as she placed her hand on the glass where his was. Her fingers were short? He watched the female open hermouth again. He didn't understand her. म्हासागर watched as the female lifted her hand and pointed at her middle finger, then giving a thumbs up and tiling her head. He looked down at his hand, remembering the purple, shiny ring against his finger. He lifted his hand again, looking at the ringing interest. He looked up at her and mimicked the thumbs up she gave. म्हासागर looked at her, before his gaze darted behind her at the sense of movement. He skittered back behind the kelp, brushing up the sand. He hid behind the kelp, hiding almost fully, only his head poking out to watch. म्हासागर was getting hungry... he was curious as to what he would eat. He didn't want kelp. He wanted fish. He wanted salmon. Salmon sounded good... it sounded like home...
