Cade looked up and locked eyes with her. He knew it. "Cade." He said quietly. His voice faltered a bit as he sustained his eye contact with her, there seemed to be a powerful something in her eyes that made him falter. He quickly looked down. He set his bag on the ground and sat down on a rock, his feet tired from walking in the woods for as long as he had. He began to pick at his fingernails.

"Hi Cade" she hesitated for a second "im Saphire" now he was the one maintaining the eye contact. She glanced away as soon as he did. She felt like this boy could unlock her secrets just by looking at her long enough. she couldn't let that happen. Saphire struggled to reach back and touch her wound. Every time she did it would sting and make her wrench her hand back. "Yikes" she mumbled when a pebble got stuck in the wound

Cade watched her struggle for a bit before he got up and walked over to her, watching how she washed her wounds. "Want me to help with that? The way you're doing it now it'll get infected." He started at the water in the stream, knowing she would probably refuse his help.

"Um.." she debated for a second, but she knew she couldn't wash it completely by herself. "Sure" she said quietly. She pulled her hands into the water and cleaned them off again. She reached up and cleaned off the last bit of the wound on the back of her head. She pulled aside her res hair to reveal the diagonal cut frim one shoulder to her spine. She closed her eyes. "Ready" she said

Cade nodded, looking at the cut. It looked nasty but upon further inspection it wasn't that deep. It would leave a scar but nothing life thretaning. He took a tissue out of his pocket and held it up to Saphire's mouth. "Spit." He could tell she was reluctant but she did anyway. Cade wiped at the wound until the dried blood was completly gone. He methodicly began to blot the inside of it with a practiced ease until it stopped bleeding. He took off his sweater and handed it to her. "Put it on, it'll keep the cut from getting infected."

Saphire winced with every stroke he made and she bit her tongue a few times to keep from making a noise. "I- I can't take that. You need it. It's cold out here " she said as she pushed it away. "You need it more than me. You don't need to get sick. You have a family to try to get back to" she begged. She really didn't need his sweater, but how was she supposed to explain that she didn't get cold?

|
He looked at her, staring into her eyes again. "Its not so you don't get cold silly, its so your cut doesn't get infected. You need to have it covered and I don't have a bandage." He looked down. He wasn't sure that his parents would go looking for him, they'd assume that he was at a friends house or that he had moved out without telling them. Either way he would be fine without his sweater.

"Either way, I've been out in worse than this. Trust me when I say that I'll be fine without a bandage" she was sharing way too much information, but the way he stared into her eyes made her melt. She was a demon for crying out loud! She couldn't be acting this stupid! She looked down and away from him. "I still won't take it. You can't make me" she huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. She gave a slight grin at her attempt at a playful protest

"I've been in worse than this too." He fired back, giving his best attempt at a playful bicker. "That cut is going to get infected. Trust me, I have lots of experiance with this stuff." He mimicked her and crossed his arms over his chest, staring at her.

Saphire risked a grin. "I just don't get why you are so persistent" she said. "But what if I just flat out refuse? You really can't make me" she looked at him and let out a guarded giggle. "Are you mocking me?" She motioned to his arms. She rolled her eyes and eyes the sweater. "I guess, but your getting it back before you even know it
