Hey, go ahead. As these two continue on, I have full intentions of bringing in another stud to complely destroy (not really) their peace, but I wanted their relationship to be a little less distrusting and more intimate than it currently is before I did so. But a stud now may speed that along XD )
Liona. Familiarity teased in the back of the mare's mind. She frowned, nearly devastated to realize she had forgotten her own mother's name. Her audits twitched as she clung to every single word he spoke about the mare, wanting to try to remember every little detail as possible. "She sounds incredible" Noda said in a small voice, trying to hide the saddness that threatened to comsume her. "I think ..." She paused, really making sure she wanted to share this with the stud. He might take her as completely mad, but what did it matter if he already had poor feelings towards her. "I think I saw her, earlier today ... under the willow." She gestured her broad cranium in the direction of the willow behind them. "I ... I mean, I know I didn't SEE her, but it was like a ghost of her?" She paused again, phrasing the statement like a question. Because at this moment, saying this outloud, she was beginning to question it for herself. Noda turned her head back towards Riptide and gulped hard at the lump forming in her throat. "I had some kind of flashback." She stated simply, studying his expressions before deciding to indulge further. "It was just of her and she was giving me willow bark and told me about the marigolds." She kept it simple, leaving out the part that included him. "And then I just saw her, standing there .. smiling ... It was comforting in some way." She shook her head and smiled with a roll of her orange orbs. "But that's ridiculous, I have to be completely out of my mind" She snorted. "I had to have completely made it up somehow."

Okay then! I'll be free this weekend, usually after 5- I'll be at a dog show all weekend so after 5 I'll be completely free. That's when I'll get the character sheet up (the small parts of it, anyway) and start playing the character
Sounds good lol! I always love to try to ruin relationships hehe))

Riptide flicked his umber orbs to the mare's saddened face, his audits flicking back. He felt ... grieven, that she didn't even remember her own mother. It must be a horrible feeling. Every second he spent with her just seemed to make him... understand her point of view a little more. Like the side that wanted to give her another chance was winning, and the side that was still hurt was losing. He was quite conflicted, even more so now as he tried to think about whether or not she deserved another chance, but then something dawned on him. Of course, another memory.
It was only a sliver over 2 years ago, only a month before Ripp was going to leave. He had been set in watching the youngest foals, three of them, two fillies and a colt. They were playing in the woods, a little ways away from the herd. He was bored, as the young foals weren't doing much, so he wandered the slightest bit away to graze. A couple minutes he got distracted as one of his friends came over. He then talked with them, and got quite caught up in the conversation- until he heard a high-pitched blood curdling screech. He realized it came from where he had left the Foals. He galloped back, along with four other horses that were close enough, to see a wolf with the dead colt in its jaws, and the two fillies running away from more wolves. Ripp launched in and protected the fillies, but after the wolves were gone and the mother of the colt came, it slowly settled, like concrete, into his head... what he had done. He had caused the life of that colt to be taken from it. The colts mother was devastated, grieven beyond words, and Ripp was feeling so much guilt and sadness he didn't know what to do. However, a couple days later the mother approached him with a kind, if sad, expression. "Riptide, I don't blame you for Sol's death. Everyone makes mistakes, whether big or small, and it's only about how we move on from them that matters."
Back in present day, Ripp swallowed down a wave of emotion. Those words.. they meant the world to him. He had pretty much KILLED her colt, and yet she still showed boundless Mercy. Noda may have hurt him, but everyone deserved a second chance. Especially her. He focused his gaze on her again as she started talking, her words surprising him slightly, yet he stayed silent till the end. "You're not out of your mind. In my experience, not that I have much, memory never completely leaves. It gets hidden in the subconscious of your mind. Because of this, memories will come out, surface for seemingly no reason, and especially if that someone in the memory was important to you... you might see it as a flashback." He answered quietly, then paused before continuing. "Thay being said, I can see how it's comforting. I've, well, dreamt, I guess, about my own family... ever since I left, anyway. It's not the same as you, though." Ripp glanced away, dropping his gaze to the ground for a second. "I noticed you used marigolds... which means you know they help. In my opinion, not that it matters, they are the best for skin wounds. Willow bark does ease the pain, as well. Liona was the one who taught me that." He let a faint smile flicker across his face as he remembered the black mare. He wished he knew where she was now.

Name: Ragnorak

Age: 5 years

Gender: Stallion

Appearance: Rock is a decent sized stallion with a striking golden pelt and creamy white mane and tail. He is a slightly slimmer figure, though muscles still show from under his shiny pelt. All in all, he is quite handsome.

Height: 16.2

Personality: Rock has a rather prideful, strutting personality. He isn't afraid to be flirty, can be rude at times, and doesn't really know what boundaries are. He has always been quite the charmer, and he isn't afraid to admit it.

(Sorry it's kind of short! You'll get his background more as he comes to the herd <3)

OOOh, he's gonna stir up trouble! XD )
A genuine smile crept across the mare's features as he spoke. He was trying to make her feel better ... and it was working. "Well, it's a relief to know I'm not crazy on top of everything else." A small chuckle parted from her muzzle. She looked down at her body as he spoke of the flowers she had pasted across her skin.
A yawn tugged at her lips as they stood there, together. The sun was beginning to retreat behind the tree line and the once blue sky was fading into various hues of orange and purple. She still wasn't too thrilled about the night to come, but maybe in the company of others, it would be alright. Just as she was about to bring her eyes back to Riptide, the familiar cadence of Minnah's hoofbeats rattled in the air. "Hey," she started, finding her place next to Riptide with a large smile on her features. "It's getting pretty late, why don't you guys come and join us." She looked towards Noda, but the chestnut's words seemed to be moreso directed to the stallion. Silently, Noda lowered her head and followed the mare as they began to walk back towards the rest of the herd.
The other four mares were all standing next to one another with their heads low, already preparing themselves for the night to come. They all turned to the red mare and offered what appeared to be soft smiles and gestures of greeting. It was a bit of a difference than what she felt from the mare, Minnah, but she wouldn't necessarily say that was a bad feeling right off, either. Minnah joined the other mares and looked back at the two. Suddenly, Noda felt a little self concious and she kept to the outskirts of the meadow. She brought her smaller frame down to the ground with a long grunt. She swatted the grass that tickled her sides with her greyish plumage until she finally felt comfortable. She laid her head down, but she never closed her eyes. She just listened to the slow and steady heartbeats of those around her that were able to comfortably sleep.

(Yes, yes he is hehehe... lol))

The stallion still wasn't 100 percent sure on how to handle anything, and he guessed he'd never fully forgive Noda, but as the memory prodded at his mind again, he decided he would give her a chance. Try to help, at least. As a result of that, when a smile curled across her face, although small, he felt a little relieved. "It would be a relief for me, too." He answered quietly, even though it didn't need an answer, his gaze flickering to the darkening sky. Hues of orange, blue, and yellow beams of light stretched across the atmosphere like a painting made by God, sketched straight into the heavens tapestry. It was truly beautiful. For the time being, he was relaxed and calm, not worried about much. When Minnah walked up, he nodded, glancing at Noda before falling in step a little ways behind the mares. Instead of going straight towards the herd, like Minnah, or even on the outskirts of the herd, like Noda, Ripp went past them all, cresting the small hill and turning to stand, his eyes alert again. He tended not to sleep till much later, and he also tended to wake up much earlier. As a result, his sleep was quite deprived, but he had managed for two years now, and he would continue.
+++
A golden stallion crested the hilltop, his white mane flowing in the breeze, easy to see against the dark sky. His blue eyes, overlaid with a wide blaze, were wide alert, his audits pricked. Scent flooded his nostrils, and he could see horses laying below him, with another stallion on the other hill. Launching forward in a gallop, he headed straight towards the stallion, only stopping when he got a couple feet away. "Riptide! Heya there bud! Remember me?" He tossed his mane, bouncing on his hooves. "C'mon, your old buddy Ragnorak." The palomino grinned, swishing his tail in the grey stallion's face.
+++
Ripp's audits flew forward as he heard hoofbeats. His nostrils flared, and he identified a stallion, just running towards him. Surprise and a bit of annoyance entered his gaze. He drew himself up to his full height, ready to tell this horse off for trying to wake up everyone, but a second later he realized who it was. "Rock? What are you doing here?" He asked, sounding astounded. This was a surprise, as this stallion standing in front of him had been in his herd, one of his only tentative friends. However, Ripp had never really liked Rock, as they were conceited, loud, and didn't care about others much.

A small part of Noda wanted to join Riptide as he continued on past her. As he opened up just the slightest with her, she was finding that she was a bit more relaxed in his presence. He wasn't just the snorty, threatening stallion she had initially feared him as, but he was trying to make her more comfortable in his actions and generocity. She couldn't let those things go unnoticed. With a deep sigh, she gave those thoughts a rest and chose to just stay where she was. She noted that Minnah seemed to be keeping close tabs on the two, but for what reason was unclear. But Noda had her assumptions.
.
After a few hours of restlessness, Noda subcumbed to sleep, despite her best tries. Her eyes fluttered under her lids and her body twitched all over, covered in a light film of sweat. It was appearant that she was once again, trapped in the reoccuring nightmare, even while the herd slept just a few hundred feet away. It was all over in minutes, but Noda felt like she had been trapped for hours. Though not physically harmed, her entire body felt like it had been lit on fire. She still couldn't figure out any clues about the dream. Though she knew she was trapped inside of something, it was all still too unclear. Her orange orbs were heavy and sunken in from exhaustion, but she didn't even entertain the thought of going back to sleep. Instead, Noda pulled herself up off of the ground and began walking towards the lake. The cold water was a welcomed sensation on her dry palate and seemed to rejuvenate her just a bit. She peered down at her legs, noticing that most of the Marigold paste was entirely dried out and flaking off of her entire body in large chunks. Though morning was just on the horizion, it was still too late for her travel back to the willow that was on the other side of the lake. She was definitely going to be feeling that pain in the morning. With a deep sigh, she turned her attention on getting back to the herd before anyone had noticed that she was gone.
.
When Noda began to ascend the hill where the herd was sleeping just on the other side, the red mare stopped dead in her tracks. While everything was quiet, she had immediately noticed that a pale figure now stood on the hill with Riptide. The interation appeared stiff but everything was civil for the moment, however, Noda was quick to move her form off the hill where she could no longer be picked out against the nightscape that was slowly lightening up as the sun threatened to rise. She made sure to stay as quiet as possible, not to draw attention to herself. She had no ideas about this stranger and if he knew the Riptide was even with a herd. Luckily, her dark color would easily blend into the night so she felt near certain that the stallions most likely hadn't seen her yet.

The pale stallion tossed his creamy mane again, pawing at the ground. "What am I doing here? Be more welcoming than that, Ripp! You've been gone from the herd for two years! Granted, I left too. Been wandering for a while." Rock said loudly, ignoring everything as the sun started peeking over the horizon.
+++
The grey stallion's orbs were focused on Rock. How had this stallion found him? Why? He was confused and worried, extremely worried, as Rock was another adult stallion, and Ripp had a herd full of mares to protect. "Rock.. you can't stay here..." He commented, his voice uncertain.
+++
Ragnorak snorted. "Shut up- you want me here-" He stopped midsentence as his eyes caught a creeping red pelt. Orbs lighting up, the pale stallion cantered down the hill, sliding to another stop in front of the mare he knew all too well. "Noda, babe! I've been looking for you for weeks! What happened!?" His voice was somewhere between anger, confusion, and relief. "You left me in the middle of nowhere, worried me to death, and you've been cuddling up with Riptide? What's wrong with you?" Rock snapped, his personality shifting quite quickly.
+++
Riptide's orbs widened slightly in worry as Ragnorak noticed Noda. "Rock, don't-" He tried to stop the golden stallion, but he was too late. His expression flitted from worry to a slightly defensive look. The stallion trotted after Rock, stopping slowly, his audits flicking back at the other stallion's rather harsh words. "Ragnorak, stop it. You don't know what she's been through." He commented lowly, positioning himself so he was somewhat in between the palomino and the red mare.
+++
Ragnorak angrily stomped a hoof, his icy eyes lighting up. "Ripp, this isn't your place to talk. I can't believe she would leave me for you." Rock hissed, taking a threatening step towards Noda.
+++
The grey stallion lifted his cranium. "She didn't, whacko, stop it!" He growled, pushing the other stallion back. He didn't know why he was suddenly becoming defensive, but a dark anger broiled in his stomach. "You have no right to yell at her like that." He huffed, his voice quieting again, yet still remaining firm.

This is getting really interesting, pretty quickly!)
.
Just when Noda thought that she was in the clear, that spec of a pale body on the hill had raced down towards her direction and slid right in front of her in a familiar fashion that made her outwardsly growl. However, her annoyed features quickly turned into suprise and fear as she stood there, staring up at the stallion, quickly advancing into her personal space. The red mare's audits pinned tightly against her skull as the huffy stallion began to speak harshly at her, making her back up quickly, but he just simply followed her in step. Her orbs widened to the size of saucers and her heart had leapt into her chest. "I, I, I ..." She couldn't even get her words out, she was so dumbfounded. Her whole body flinched as Riptide came quickly between them. She wasn't able to feel any relief in his presence as the pale stud continued. Her senses were numbed as her entire frame shook with fear. Who was this stallion? Why did he come at her so strongly? Her mind was spinning with so many unanswered questions swirling about. She expelled a huge breath of air she didn't even realize she was holding. She felt her body lean back and she had to take a step to catch herself from threatening to fall. Her mind started screaming at her to run, but her brain just couldn't make those connections to her legs. She refused to peek out from behind Riptide's form as he protected her.
.
"I- I don't know who you are, just leave me alone." Her voice trembled and she felt like a foal, so fearful of talking. She still refused to make eye contact with the stranger, locking her orbs on the ground between her pearly, pinkish hooves. Her plumage swatted nervously against either side of her hips. She could hardly feel the sting of it against her burns that were now exposed as she had seemed to walk off the last of the Marigolds.

There's more lol. Ragnorak is going to try and win Noda back- let's see how that affects Riptide XD)
-
The pale stallion stopped as the grey stallion stepped in front, his audits pinning against his head angrily. "What is wrong with you two?" He muttered under his breath, stepping back, lifting his cranium with irritation blazing in his blue eyes. "Noda? Why are you doing this? Don't you remember me?" He asked, his voice sharp, yet not as bad as it was before.
+++
Riptide swished his feathers with worry, his gentler, brown orbs locked on the pale stallion in front of him. As Noda seemed absolutely terrified, he decided to wrap this up quickly, while answering for her. Mentally making a note to explain everything, he stepped forward again to give her space and make Rock back up even more. "No, she doesn't remember you. She doesn't remember anything. Now this is my herd, and my land. You cannot go running on here like you own the place, then harass someone currently under my protection. I will ask you to leave, but if you don't.." He let the small threat trail off, his posture stiff and formal and rigid.
+++
Ragnorak brought his infuriated gaze to Riptide, tossing his mane. Confusion flitted across his expression at the stallion's explanation, but it was quickly replaced with a slightly menacing look. "Fine. I'll leave. But I'll be back." Rock spat, wheeling around and cantering off.
+++
Riptide lowered his cranium and relaxed considerably as the other stallion left, exhaling heavily and very, very slowly turning to glance at Noda, who didn't look the peachiest (I don't care if it's a word- I'm using it lol). "I'm... I'm really sorry about that. I don't know why he acted like that." His voice slightly strained, he sucked in a breath and continued. "That was Ragnorak, a colt that was formerly in the same herd as us. You always liked him... and... well.. after a while you two got together. Then I don't know what happened. I left." Ripp's eyes indicated, with his emotions occasionally flitting across them, that he was still sad about what he was saying. Particularly the part about them getting together. As he had always liked Noda, and he thought Rock had always been somewhat of a jerk, it hurt to explain it. His orbs flicked to the ground before steadying, his emotions disappearing as he remembered he wasn't an impenetrable shield, and fixed his face so it didn't show anything. Exhaling again, he brought his cranium up slightly. Hesitating, as if he was going to say something, then closing his mouth again, he fell silent.

Oh goodness XD)
Noda felt like she could breathe again as she watched the stallion canter off. She didn't say a single word until she watched for herself that he had compleltely disappeared, far away from them. With him gone, she allowed her head to hang low and her orbs closed for just a few minutes. What had he wanted with her? Who was he? More questions she had, but this time, it was like Riptide knew what she had been thinking. She listened to his words with erect audits. 'you two were together,' that phrase stabbed her in the chest and her breath hung up on it. "Why would I ever be interested in a stallion like that," She scoffed, afraid to look him in the eyes, knowing that this was probably something else bringing up a past he so obviously wanted to forget. "But ... How did he find me? Are we that close to our birth herd?" She asked questly, flashing a look up at Riptide for a single second. She highly doubted that was the case but in all seriousness, how the hell did he find her? As her adrenaline was wearing off, she was now feeling the burns on her body once again. She shifted her weight unconfortable and chose to bare with it for now. There was absolutely no way that she was going to leave right now. That stallion could still be lurking, he said he would be back, and that thought made Noda's skin crawl all over.
.
Noda brought her attention back to Riptide and gave him a faint smile. "Thank you ..." she started with a slight inhale. "For stepping in, I felt like I could't move, I- I coouldn't speak." She sighed sadly. She was borderline pathetic. How was she this evil and vile creature before some memory altering situation? Had the truama completley changed her personality, too? It was so odd, but no matter how hard she sat her thinking about it, she wasn't going to get any closer to an answer.
