Darcy saw the men then started to freak out when the guard didn't stop them for a second. She stepped back until she heard voices. She watched them with a keen eye, observing the guard. He didn't seem all that scary. He looked like he wanted to play around, but of course he had to be like a brick. She sighed and watched them interact for a little

"We're not leaving till we get to KINDLY greet her." The men snarled. Rusty shifted onto one foot. "Okay. Have fun standing here for a while. My job is to stand, so I bet you can't beat me." He fake yawned before rolling his eyes. He could never hide the sarcasm. Even if he was probably 5+ years younger than all three of these people, he wasn't going to budge. The one man reeled back and swung a fist forward angrily. Rusty stepped back, dodging the hit easily, and grabbed the guys hand in the process, smacking it against the bars. "Can you not hear me? I said no. She doesn't want to *say hi*. Use your foul brains." Rusty snapped, his thunderous look threatening to do more. One man back off, then the other, but that one tried to lunge past Rusty and punch at the same time, and it connected this time. Rusty hissed with pain and shoved the guy backwards before grabbing the man's arm and twisting it. "Shut up and leave." He hissed. The man did. Rusty then rubbed his jaw with an indignant snort.

Darcy watched the men with more than enough winces. When the men left she spoke. "I know it's your job and all, but thank you" her soft voice echoed a little down the hall. A few people glanced at her then continued on their way. She ran a finger over the scars down her arms, the terrible memories hitting her like a freight train. She fought back the tears before looking up at the guard.

Rusty rubbed his jaw a little more before glancing at Darcy as she spoke. Since his hat had abandoned ship, he leaned down to pick it up and jam it back on his hat before answering. "It is nothing. They're stuck up jerks." He answered curtly before walking back to his normal spot and leaning against the wall again, watching everyone carefully, including Darcy. He wanted to ask why she was- one, all scarred up, and two, why she was crying. Well, yes, there were reasons, but he had a feeling hers were more complicated.

Because of how loud the rooms were, she decided she could forget everything with a song. She hummed first, maki by sure no one could hear. She could tell no one could hear because Martha didn't look at her, but when got a little louder the woman looked at her. Darcy shut up immediately and stared at the ground, unable to even look around. She was sacred... terrified even. Nothing could change that. She was hoping she could find someone she could become friends with. Some how.

Rusty watched everyone carefully, tilting his head slightly when he heard a quietly hummed song. It immediately stopped when he saw Martha's look, so he knew it had come from Darcy. He sucked in a breath before sidling over slightly. "Hey... are you okay? I'm not going to let anyone come near you, if you're worried about that." He said quietly, his voice the most gentle it had been in years.

Darcy looked up. "I'm yeah... about as good as I can get in a jail cell. And thank you. " she glanced away then back at him. She felt like she couldn't say a word. Nothing that would hint toward her past. She pulled her arms closer to her body in a desperate attempt to keep the scars hidden.

Rusty ducked his head slightly as he looked around. "Believe me. I understand." He murmured quietly, glancing away before staying silent for a while. He gently touched the bruise forming on his face again and sighed. This was... well, he didn't know. He wasn't sure what to do anymore.

Darcy furrowed her eyebrows. "How do you understand? You're standing outside while we're stuck behind bars!" She didn't know why she was getting so mand

Rusty, instead of getting irritated, just sighed again, more heavily and depressed this time. "We're stuck in this building together. And I understand because that was my cell. I got condemned for something I honestly didn't do, not that anyone believed me, and they offered me a way out. Be a prison guard, get punched for no reason, have everyone always mad at you all the time, and I don't have to be stuck in a cell. However I'm still stuck, still trapped here. If I leave I get arrested again." He said quietly, not even sure why he was opening up at all.
