Abby immediately stood up and left the stall. Fly nickered and snorted her complaints but Abby ignored her. "It's fine. Fly has a sad backstory too. Cast Away, her first born, was taken from her due to his health. She was broken because of it and would t go to sleep. I was, and still am, the only one who was willing and is willing to sing her to sleep." She gulped "and your singing isn't terrible. It was really good. Mine is terrible. Sometimes I think even the birds hate it. I can't get it right. The only way I feel comfortable is the echo when I'm in the hill at night. Why am I telling you this? I should not have told you that. I'm sorry" Abby gulped and blushed out of embarrassment |

(So they're both ramblers, eh? XD) +++ Ryker paused as Abby started talking rather quickly, kind of like he had. He always rambled when he was nervous. "Oh.. wow. Poor Fly." He said quietly, glancing at the mare, his head bowed slightly... almost like he was trying to make himself shorter. Ry ALWAYS stood out in a crowd, unless he was in a crowd of super tall people. "And your singing is great! I loved it! Well that sounded wrong. You have better singing than me anyway." +++ (Sorry it is short i gtg) |

That's ok. See you tmr:) - Abby glanced up at him before looking away. Had the tape measure told her wrong or was he a giant. She gulped at his tall frame before looking away. "I wouldn't say great. And here. We both had good singing voices. You say you don't, I say I don't. I say you do, you say I do. Call it even?" She fiddled with her sleeve, anxious and scared because of how he towered over her. It reminded her of Gavin. She gave a slight shiver and backed up. She felt trapped. "I have to go Gav- I mean Ryker" she took off to Fly Away's stall, knowing that that was her safest place and that she had to put her to bed anyway. |

Ryker worriedely fiddled with a silver chain around his neck. The links barely peaked out, falling behind his shirt instead of.in front. "Even, then." He said quietly, his eyes flickering up as Abby backed up, then accidentally almost him the name he had figured out was her boyfriend, then ran away to the mare's stall. Ry flinched at that, not even pausing for a moment before fleeing out the back door. No one, not even here, saw him as normal. He thought he had a chance... but no. He was just another scary tall guy that only wanted to hurt. Ryker clenched his fists as he entered his cabin, having jogged all the way down the hill in frustration to disappear faster. He just silently locked the door and went straight to the bedroom, staring up at the ceiling. Why. Why did everyone either seem to hate him or seem to be scared of him. |

Abby cried quietly. Why did Gavin have to do this to her. She muffled her cries into Flys mane. Fly Away nickered softly and nuzzled her. "Why Fly? Why is he so messed up? And why does Gavin haunt me like that!" She sighed and laid down, sleeping after a few minutes of sniffling and calming down |

One thing was for sure. Ryker was going to find who did this to Abby- AKA GAVIN- and pop some knuckle into his nose. He tried to relax, closing his eyes, and later drifting off to sleep. In the morning the alarm clock he had set blared loud, right in his ear, and startled him enough to jump right out of the bed. +Fer pete cryin out loud+ He thought with a small groan, shutting it off. It was still dark out... ripe 4 AM. He took a quick shower, then rummaged through his small collection of clothes, picking out a shortsleeved flannel button up shirt that was dark green. After that some old blue jeans were thrown on, a plain black belt, and off he went, without eating breakfast. It was only 4:15 now, as dark as the abyss itself. Ryker hunched his shoulder and stuffed his hands in his pockets as he trudged up the hill, going into the barn and entering Serpant's stall. "Hey bud." He whispered quietly, grabbing a brush and quickly currying the stallion. He then put on the simple rope halter, tied the rope on the other side to make makeshift reins, and led Serpant out. Mounting bareback right outside the barn, Ryker clicked, then they walked forward, into the arena just because Ry didn't know if they were allowed to ride on the grass. He dropped the *reins* and let Serpant wander around, just closing his eyes and feeling the walk of the horse. |

Abby woke up when Fly shifted, her head lifted so she could see over the door. She watched a horse walk past. Abby groaned and rubbed her eyes. "Ok Fly. It is too dark for this. What's wrong?" Abby pulled herself to her feet and popped her back. She took a deep breath and sighed, looking around. "Ok. Morning ride. Let's go. " Abby opened the door and up the horse was. She put her walking blanket on Fly Away and walked her to warm her and wake her up. Fly Away notices something but Abby ignored her and brought her to the arena |

Ryker slowly curled Serpant's mane around his finger, letting out a slow breath and opening his eyes. He had good night vision, from years of walking around at night, so he could tell there was a horse and human walking towards the arena. He just couldn't tell who. He laid down on the stallion's rump and stared at the starry sky. There was no moon tonight... just billions of beautiful globes of fire in the sky. |

Abby walked Fly into the arena. She knew that the owners didn't want her riding bareback while barrel racing because they didn't want her to sue them. But they were so good! Abby kicked Foy into a canter, warming up her body and the mares body. After a few canter laps, she kicked her into a gallop and did a fast barrel pattern. Each turn was more flawless then with a saddle. She used the mares mane as reins and a horn. The mare knew the pattern by heart and put it all into it. At the end, Abby let Fly Away canter around happily. She sighed and twisted mid ride, sitting backward as Fly cantered around. She made a full 360 and sat correctly on her horses back. |

Ryker turned his head as the beating of hooves grew louder. In the other arena, a fast horse was running around barrels, a rider on bareback. +If only Serpant was that awake+ He thought, asking for a canter as they smoothly went around the arena. All thoughts of everything, even the other rider in the arena. Only one thing occupied his mind now. He took a deep breath and cued a steady canter, then grabbed the mane of Serpant and squared his shoulders. Ry then swung off the horse, around the front of the chest, and all the way back up, landing on the stallion's back. He was thrilled that all his practice finally paid off. He had done it without crashing to the ground and getting run over! He then grabbed the mane again and hopped off the side, bouncing off of the ground, over Serpant's back, and with a quick touch bouncing off the other side and landing back on the stallion's back. |
